Hi sir just wanna say if you have extra cash can I asked thank you 😊
I grew up a Chevy and Dodge guy. I've never been a big fan of Ford work trucks because I enjoy getting up and moving faster than the ones like in the 90s doing Lawn Maintenanc... Yeah they might have been able to haul more but rarely did we haul more than mowers.
Now anything American Made Vehicle Wise. Scares Me. I want something that will last a lifetime and not just 100,000 miles
Quick question Scotty.. Which make and model 26ft. box truck would be the best?
Scotty, do a similar video for SUV
Ya ford transmission problems. And I have coworkers who worked for chevy. Rust at 0 miles at the checkup factory. Also no transmission fluid while calling GMC about it just to be told oh its fine send it
The best truck is the the one you already own that’s paid for. Nice job Mr. Kilmer.
Agree, I have a 94 ranger, that runs.
1982 Chevy C-10 V-8 .... can't kill this thing! 380,000 miles and STILL going!
It was a wonderful era for vehicles back then….
@@brianschryver8314...not
The best truck to buy is one that IS NOT a EV.
Predictable Thomas
You’re right about that.
@@andyblank4157 a small EV for city dwellers does make sense and even Scotty agrees
Myself, I'm am a gm fan.
I'd definitely consider an EV truck. Not for long trips, but would be perfect for local work.
This video was super awesome and extremely well put together. More of these! Scotty is getting better and better
One of the best truck overviews I’ve ever watched. No bias, and no drooling over pretty features that we can all live without.
Love the truck content! Would love to see a video on HD options. Good years. Years to stay away from. Brand comparisons. I realise that would be a smaller market, but I would personally be grateful for a Scotty opinion video. If not, I still love the videos, you have taught me a lot. Thank you!
This was in the format of a commercial for each truck - never got to which were the best and worst.
I'll put things in a nutshell for you, they all have problems and they all cost a lot. Buy whatever you like, and whatever powertrain fits your needs. The old days of trucks is over, and we're stuck with these over-done, overly expensive pieces of junk. It is what it is.
Amen !!@@mplslawnguy3389
Scotty, thank you for all your hard work researching these trucks. I always use your videos as a springboard for my own research. Your videos are always very informative . Most times I learn a lot and some info I did not know and look into. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to your next video.
You’re the best at what you do Scotty. Great video with tons of value
Glad I bought my 2020 Toyota Tundra before the redesign. 5.7L V8, 6 speed Aisin tranny, and 4.30 axle pulls my bay boat like a dream. At my age, probably the last truck I’ll ever own.
In 1985 I bought a new toyota pickup for $5,284 (plus $600 for an optional transmission warranty - the follies of youth) Though I mistreated the truck supposing it would wear out, it hasn't after 38 years, and now 2 of my boys want the truck because it does not have all the electronics and complications of new vehicles.
Trying to convince my father to ditch the Ram for a 2021 TRD Tundra.
I am with you, I have the 2020 Tundra 5.7 as well, love it, I’m not sure what my next truck will be. I will be hanging onto mine for a long time, maybe my last truck as well.
Still running my 2003 Tundra 4X4 with the 4.7L V8. Frame is solid (Michigan) and still looks new. Garage kept. Zero problems after 107K!
precisely, 2021 SR5 here. 🇨🇦
Fun video, Scotty you make awesome videos about cars. It appeals to both beginner and veteran car persons alike, which is great, keep them posting!
I've owned (2) Tundra's and have never been disappointed. They are extremely dependable.
Which ones would you suggest for someone who works in construction towing around 10-20k lbs
@@willvice3998 a heavy duty 2500 truck
@willvice3998 Jesus mate what are you towing?
@Mark-ly4lq just material but every now and again go to pick up vehicles
@@willvice3998no tundra can tow more than 10,500 lbs. I’d go F-250 towing that much.
Great job Scotty, as usual..thanks.
I’m not a car guy and don’t know much or ever had any respectable man to show me a thing or 2. I’m blessed with your videos every-time I’m purchasing a used vehicle. Thanks Scotty 😊 your knowledge is valued by me and wish I could work with ya one day boss man
Thanks for your work Scotty, terrific video
Scotty thank you for such a quality video never knew I needed to hear you talking without seeing your orchestrations it’s very interesting but also great
Great information Scotty. Helps when you categorize the trucks the way you did and explain the upside as well as the downside.
Scotty, you have an excellent way of explaining ting that are easy to understand! Thank you!
I just found about you. You are a generous man for giving us all the knowledge. Thank you!
Great video and very helpful information
I love this info only vids Scotty. Keep'em commin!
Another great video. I'm in the market for a new pickup and this was very helpful.
Informative Scotty. Thanks
Scotty, I love your videos. Please keep up the great work ❤
Great video👍 very informative
Great video I'm a truck guy so it's good to here your input.
You sure did put time into this. After owning 2 crew cab GMC Sierras since 1994, I just bought a midsize Honda Ridgeline to tow my bass boat. Did I want a midsize truck? No …. But GMC prices were in the mid 60’s & out the door approaching $70,000. I bought a AWD V6 Honda Ridgeline Sport 3 months ago & saved myself $24,000. I’ll get use to it. Kept previous 2 trucks for over 14 yrs each.
Amazing video Scotty!
Scotty never disappoints with his uploads, only shocks.
Thanks SK, I needed this info.
I, for one, appreciate the effort you put in to your videos.
Great Vid Scotty!
ooooooo new style of video , looks good! Appreciate the hard work!
An Entertaining, informative, and valuable video!
I like this video style. Nice work!
Enjoyed watching the video.
This was an incredible video! Thank you
Great videos Scotty
Great video Scotty, as always. Love your channel. 😊 Thank you !
great explanation Scotty
Good video. Thanks, Scotty!
I didn't see a 2024 Final Edition Ram TRX BUT, I absolutely love MINE. ! Also my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie, full cab 4 door, ( not crew cab) with all the options is a road trip Cadillac, and still an absolute joy. I've never owned a Ford that didn't live at the Hospital despite your multiple videos on how they're the greatest.
Thx for all the homework you do
Thanks Scotty 👍 an Awesome truck video 🇺🇲
I love my 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid (40+ MPG real world). Only $24.000 and perfect for my needs. I have hauled and towed more items and weight than I thought I would.
Well done Scotty. Kudos for the Bartles and Jaymes close.
Beautiful presentation Scotty. You are a treasure.
It’s just nice to know that there are so many brands with so many configurations of pickups in this country. Personally I like the Toyota brand for reliability and resale value but they don’t have the really big tow haulers. Everybody can buy a truck for their individual needs. I would just recommend not buying one of the new generation model of any brand. Wait for the second or third year to give the manufacturer time to work any problems out and you’ll likely avoid the issues that come with them.
Great work as usual. Can you please do a video like this with more details of the heavy duty truck models comparing their engines and transmission. Thanks!
Great work
Thank you for your research
Thank you Scotty for your hard work - appreciated!! I once owned a 2005 Chevy Avalanche LT which I did really enjoy. But the fuel cost was outrageous. It was a lifestyle truck that never went off-road. Eventually I sold it and used my '92 Caddy Brougham pulling a small Home Depot trailer rental. And even that was once every couple years. I'm over the truck thing now and stick with sedans.
Why didn't you off-road with it? I off-road with my Titan Pro-4x.
Very informative
I love my 2020 Nissan Titan Pro-4x…. Simple naturally aspirated engine. Did I mention reliable!
It's a shame Nissan is sunsetting Titan trucks
@@artemzhirkov3295thats very sad 😥 😞
Are they still making them with the cummins engine?
Reliable? I hope so, it is 4 years old
@@jbammorales5858 They stopped offering that engine. Literally 10 days ago someone pulled out in front of me and totalled my 2018 XD. It has they Cummins motor, really nice truck, but I hated the motor. It pulled amazing and rode great, but it couldn't pass a turtle at highway speeds. Lol
Damn I miss that truck already!
So many amazing options to choose from. If you're in the market for a new truck you're in for a treat.
great information
Great video.
Thanks for the video. My favorite truck is the 2006 GMC 2500 HD diesel.
Already made up my mind about trucks but did a nice job in presentation and it is a lot of work. Tow and tongue ratings are always a pain. Worked in the RV industry for decades. Good advice Scotty. Get more than you think you want. Why? Invariably people step up or end up with more and now that truck won't be enough. Surprised you could get a new truck anything for under 25k.
What truck comes up top? 🤔
Man this was one of your best videos imo.
Thank you! I wanted a 150, but now I'm looking at more mid-sized models
I just got a 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X and it is awesome!
Love your voice, fits those trucks man✊
Wow so much information to take in all at once
got thank you for your support from Bartles and Jaymes!
I really enjoy this style of video. It would be nice if they were differentiated from the regular ones.
Great video
Great video. I just love my 2020 F350 diesel 4 door 8ft bed pickup. I like it so much. I pre ordered a 2024 F450 with high output 6.7. Partly to say screw the ev world. I'm keeping my diesel pickup.
Good stuff as always. Own a Tacoma, 2 Corollas and a just got a Venza.
Thanks for that HUGE amount of information. Well done!
I took a page out of your reliability formula. Ford F-150, Coyote 5.0 V8, 4WD Crew cab 6-speed trans. Love this truck.
Looked at a 2023 Chevy Colorado - fully loaded with everything except the sunroof - reasonable price for what you were getting until I saw the $5000 "Supply Chain Disruption" surcharge tacked on. I drove away in my perfectly fine 2005 Chevy Colorado
Good video. I will stick to my inline roller blades.
Another informative, entertaining video! Well made great quality. Way to go Scotty!
I got a chevy 1500 3.0 diesel i use it every day for farming, mechanic, landscaping it is a really good work horse
Impressive video!
You are great! Thank you
Good video!
I bought a used 2019 Chevy Colorado WT with a 4cyl and it's amazing. Gas milage is great, smooth ride, pretty roomy inside for a smaller truck, I hear they can tow a fair amount for what it is, its a crew cab and it suits me to a T. It's not the fastest or flashiest thing on the road, but it's perfect for me.
When I got my truck the Honda Ridgeline RTL fit my needs. I tested a Ranger and Tacoma but didn’t like them. Also the tacoma seemed to have less power then the Ridgeline and I had more problems getting in and out of it then the Ridgeline.
I get 30 mpg on Highway with eco mode on . I do know the ridgeline is basically a Honda pilot with the bed.
It funny You mentioned a Ridgeline, Because my wife was daily driving a 2020 Civic Sport 6 speed manual, Now She daily drives a 2020 Black Edition Ridgeline, She says I would never drive the Car again if it weren't better on Gasoline, The tires cost the same Thanks to Honda not going over 18" wheels. She Absolutely likes here new ride .🇺🇸👍🇨🇦
My neighbor had a loaded out F-150 King Ranch. Zero issues (stunning interior) but realized once he retired he no longer need that much truck. Took my advice and now drives a Ridgeline.
@@nucleargrizzly1776 Smart better on Gasoline and overall more user friendly for light duty work makes perfect sense, I own a real so called truck with a V8 it also only gets 18 mpg at best. So I get it, Sure you can buy a $70.000 truck with a 10 speed that's better on Gas but who wants that payment Not ME.
@@raymondreiff8170 His was a Turbo V6 with a 10 speed. Didn't get much better than 18mpg in spite of what Ford claims.
@@nucleargrizzly1776 O wow some reviewers must be way off then, Not surprised, Yes I know the Ridgeline has a timing belt that needs to be replaced but I'm good with that because I do my Own work successfully now of course I'm a Diesel Mechanic, But it's much easier and cheaper than a timing Chain setup found on Fords etc. I see those aren't holding up Great anyways 😁.
I really like the look of the 2022 blacked out Ram 1500 Big Horn… looks so good.
Dang that's a lot of information 🤯 But, I need a truck, to move back home to central Cali from Oklahoma. So Thank you for what you do. I'm 63 F, and I have depended on your videos and so far you have not let me down. Thank you so much ❤
Hi ! Fantastic Channel ! ! ! Best wishes from Cologne (G)
Good video👍 I would consider either, the Ford Maverick or, the Toyota Stout(when it comes out)
My favorite truck is one I own. It's a 1999 Pearl White, new style Silverado 4x4 5.3 V-8 with black leather interior and all the toys of its day.
It has a chrome bull guard and diamond tool box over a 100 gal diesel tank. The truck has enough chrome to get you home on your worst day.
It is my forever truck. I would never trade it for any of the over engineered monsters you featured, and I REALLY mean that literally. Hard Stop... Mic Drop...
Ive always love the look of long beds, can put more stuff back there
Hey Scotty. Love your videos but cannot believe you didn't mention the Honda Ridgeline. There wasn't even a video or a picture of one. It has been the highest rated truck in its class over the years. Its competitve payload numbers and the only truck in its class to be able to lie 4 ft wide building materials flat in its bed allow it to function as a family truck and a mild work truck. I have a 2019 Ridgeline but passed up a Tacoma for better options. Give some more love to the Ridgeline. Keep posting and I'll keep watching.
Unibody isn’t a truck
It’s an suv with a bed. A ford ranchero isn’t a truck
That's because the Honda Ridgeline ISN'T a truck, it's an suv with the rear top removed and should NEVER be considered anything other than a Japanese Elcamino.
Which ISN'T a truck, it's a car with a bed, nothing more.
@@deadbird295 By that logic the Maverick shouldn't be in this video either.
I have had a few trucks, Dodge Power Wagon, Ford F-150 (400 c.i. V-8) Mazda B2200 long bed, liked it best for the fuel economy. But, I think I am done with trucks, as my MDX can carry a lot, even plywood on the roof racks. & my wife likes the ride. With AWD, we almost never break traction. Thank you for your videos.
VERY good video
Thank you Scotty for everything. What Toyota tundra would you recommend what years I can’t afford a new one but trying to buy a good one
They can keep there twin turbo V6’s, if they don’t put V8’s in them now, don’t want them, or at least leave the plain V6 in the Tacoma
My only complaint about my 6-cyl. Tacoma is the expensive timing belt that will run close to $1K, but manuals are hard to find, so I bought it anyway. I wish I had the 4.
@@elultimo102 The Tacoma 3.5L V6 2gr-fks has a timing chain. As did the previous 4.0L 1gr-fe. The Honda Ridgeline V6 has a timing belt, which isn't hard to change out yourself.
@@Andyshine77 My '98 6 cyl. 3.4 has the belt. That's one reason I wanted a 4 cyl., but rust-free stick shifts ae rare, so I bought the 6 cyl. (Two repair manuals advised having the belt kit installed by a pro, unless you have previously done the job----which I never did.)
@elultimo102 Correct the first generation Tacoma v6 had a belt, Toyota uses chain now on all their engines.
They are destroying the quality on purpose journal 20-30 anyone?😂
The best truck is the one I had before someone ran into it: A 1984 Ford F150 long bed with a carburateted 300 inline 6 and a granny 4 speed. Easy to work on not a complcated system, tough dependable engine! 10K bought new.
Hi Scotty which full size pickup do you recommend i need 4x4 full size truck for 20 acres of property/maintenance. Good for pulling a medium sized tractor and other smaller trailers occasionally.
Love our Rams. Nearly 200k on our 2012 Hemi and runs great. Very reliable truck. Had a 2004 Hemi before that and also a great truck.
Used to be a Ford F 250-150 guy. Always had them never any problems. Last Ford was a V6 ranger. 97. Got 250,000 out of it. 2015 Bought a new Tacoma 4x4V6. Love it. Very reliable. Sold on them now. New 24 ones not so much
Sticking with the current generation tundra. Better balance between reliability and specs for what I need to do
I bought an new 2017 f250 6.2 gas crew cab 6.75 bed and it is still under 16,000 miles. Great truck
I like the format! Would love to see more in-depth versions that include used trucks and focus on reliability and maintenance. A Ridgeline mention would also be appreciated.
Much love to our uncle Scotty!
Mpg is always a concern. But I wish you would do this same segment on engine/transmission reliability and lifespan. Having a truck that gets great gas mileage doesn't matter much if all that saved money on fuel gets dumped right back into the vehicle on repairs when 40-60k miles later the engine or tranny starts having problems or fails. Also realistic OTD pricing is very different from msrp. Wish you would do a segment on which manufacturers rake you over the coals the Most with actual average pricing Over msrp, and which manufacturers vehicles tend to be closest to MSRP. For the intended informative goal though, great segment Scotty.
Bingo
Great Video. Wishing the Nissan frontier was mentioned.
