Here's an interesting extra bit you might find enlightening: Many years ago, I was having problems with 9V energizers and was looking for alternatives. Ended up dismantling a battery from each of several brands. What was inside was very revealing. (this applies to the 9V batteries that use the cylindrical AAAA size cells, not the 'stacked' kind) The Duracell had welded straps connecting the cells together and to the snaps. Ray-o-Vac had welded straps, except pressure to one of the snaps. Energizer had no straps, instead had bits of selectively aluminized cardboard at the top and bottom connecting the cells, and pressure to the snaps board. The crimps on the case were the only thing providing pressure. (Drop an energizer 9V, it often went bad or flaky. That's why.) This was 25 years ago, but some of the batteries still are built this way I think. Duracell is made in a few different countries so may have different insides. But it was quite interesting. Duracell and Ray o Vac were our 9Vs of choice from there on out... Stu Thanks for doing these kinds of vids! Stay safe!

(Yes, I know, a year old comment)
Had a similar experience which caused the issue to be more forward in my considerations.
Hardwired was my choice in the end, the system I ending up installing had good SLA back up and alert integration. No more chirping during the holidays, climbing, and replacing ailing batteries. Though, the system heads do need replacing every decade, as most SD require. Cost ended up being 5 times the cost of inexpensive standalone SDs.
Obviously, it can't be an option for everyone but if you have a new installation or have easy access to wire it all: It is a very good option. Least of all for the peace of mind and convenience.

Would duracell last 19.2% longer on a small motor?

    Very interesting.
It coincides with my experience/preference for Duracells in 9 V. I find they leak at the same sporadic rates as the Energizer counterpart but they run longer in projects and devices and are slightly less expensive where I am when bought in bulk.
Then reverse that brand preference in the A series battery form factor. Frankly, in AA/AAA, when I have to Kirkland Signature (Costco) has become my preference.
    Cheers!

@@omarmoran3097 I haven't been to Costco in a while: It was a 3rd less expensive(or more) than the comparable Duracell bulk package.
I buy the Kirkland 48 AA package. In my area Kirkland 9 Volts are never seen and even AAA seem to be rare/out of stock. Costco used to carry Eneloop but I have seen them back in years (again, in my area).
However, battery prices are varied in Costco based on country: Something I noticed travelling, pre-COVID-19.

Hi Ray. Walmart sells Rayovac. I was only testing the two big companies. If this video gets at a minimum, tens of thousands of views, I'd make another showing 6 or 8. I spent many hours filming, editing, and driving many miles to buy batteries for a previous alkaline battery testing video(AAA's), and the video was very well done, but as a result of viewers not sharing the video on social networking sites, and YT hiding my video way down the search results, the video hardly got any views. If a video gets less than 50,000 views, it was a loss to me. There are YT channels uploading poor content getting 50K views, so it's frustrating. Thanks for watching!

12v car battery charger for a few seconds always charges them fast for me. I wont do it long since they get hot and might cause issues. Maybe you want to test it out and see how long it will take before issues happen at a safe distance. Only had a limited about of times to do that trick. I never tested which can handle more charges.
Usually when a device has enough room inside for put another battery i put it in parallel to make it that they last longer. And in series if it's an emergency to get every bit out. But again its all IF.
on another topic oddly enough laptop adapters can handle higher power into the laptop and they seem fine for years despite they require far less watts and amps. go figure.

THe reason I stick with everready for critical devices which I cannot cheaply replace, is that they guarantee to repair or replace any device damaged by their batteries, In the 50 years that I've been using them, I've had to send them three different things, a walkie talkie, and two remote controls (fancy ones, with so many functions that universal remotes couldn't replace them), and they repaiired ALL of them, no charge. Now that's living up to their warranty! I do use, however, cheap batteries for common cheap things that I can repair myself or replace cheaply, should they leak.

Your data is wrong because the watt hour output rating is the only thing that actually matters because wattage Is a currency to be exchanged for voltage via a joule thief. 9volt batteries as well as aa,aaa batteries are considered obsolete and needless because of intergated li-on which only needs 4volts because of that wattage factor I mentioned. D batteries in form of NIMH are the only tube retro fitted technology that is worth the time and money because of that wattage factor and also farad . Just because you buy them local, does not mean they don't buy them from Amazon or Ebay.

A local supermarket is not going to pay a middleman to buy product. They buy it directly from the manufacturer at a wholesale price, then trucks distribute the product to all the different store locations.

They only sell MAX at stores. You can't but a "regular" energizer 9V.

If all other things are equal, weight is a pretty important characteristic. Unfortunately, all other things aren't equal. With larger batteries, weight is a bigger issue because a lot lower of a percentage of the total is the jacket and stuff. But with 9v, you have 6 individual jackets plus the outer jacket. A much higher percentage of the weight is the "packaging" around the chemicals which actually contain the energy.

There are (2) types of viewers on YT, those that are appreciative of people like myself that spend money and many hours creating helpful, informative, and quality videos. Luckily they're the majority. The other type are viewers that post idiotic/moronic comments. It's sad that people don't understand that all over the world, and all over the USA, people speak with a different accent. The behavior I see on my channel by some "Brits", is deplorable.

I am here for the data and not how to pronounce words, there are other channels for the latter. Does pronunciation inhibit the value of the results provided in this video? Since English is not my primary language, this concerns me a little.
