"Therapeuticness" in now officially a word. The right vibe for the way all of humanity needs to go forward in harmony! Thank you for sharing. 😃

Love the quilted vests and handsewing, slowstitching is my way of zoning out and forgetting about everything that's not right. With the curling wand get a plastic comb lay that on your skin and then it acts as an insulator against the heat of the curler. Get a good quality comb and it will last forever. I did hairdressing many moons ago but hated the hair all over me so went into nursing and ended up with other things all over me 🥴🤣

I love both of the vests! I think I would prefer the less puffy one to wear because I am puffy enough without adding more. I would love a video on how to embellish a sweatshirt!!! Also, I love the quilt squares. The way you've mixed fabric prints is amazing!

I LOVE your dress! The quilted vests are adorable. Maybe when you are using your curling iron, put a cloth on your forehead when you get closer to your skin to protect it. You are so cute. I love your videos and creativity. You inspire me!

Just a tip from a seasoned quilter. When doings curved bindings, cut your fabric on the bias. Hugs and keep up the fantastic content ❤

I love quilting. Very therapeutic. The vests are super cute. Tip: the cotton poly blend batting will be really hot, so if you’re prone to hot flashes or get hot easily, I would suggest the 100% cotton batting. Still soft and cozy, and will keep you warm, but won’t make you unnecessarily hot ❤

Hi Scarlett. I love your channel. I have missed about a week so I'm trying to catch up quickly.
I love the vests, the burgundy or 2nd one is my preference.
The thing about quilts is that they tell a story, your story, of learning and trying different techniques and growing with the quilt as it grows.
You are certainly improving. Your skills are becoming more and more effective and it's exciting to see how you improve.
I am going to start my hobby of art and crafts into a small business now. I wasn't going to because I'm old and tired. But I'm going to give it a go. I'm still not brave enough to do TH-cam yet. I'll get my dentures first so I don't spit on the screen.
You really inspire me. Keep up the great work. You Are AWESOME! ❤

Always start with the hardest stuff first! Everything after that is so much easier. Ha ha quilting is nothing but chopping stuff up and putting it back together and you're already a pro at that.😂❤

Haha thank you! Yeah too many people told me to choose an easier pattern, but I just couldn’t go basic!😂🙈

@@afrayed_upcycling in my late 20s, I decided to pick up sewing again so it was basically starting over and I fell in love with this pattern that had a satin dress with a lace overlay in cream. So I went to our little tiny fabric store in town and I got the fabric, and after weeks of many curse words, it was done and I asked the sewing shop, lady. Why did you let me start with this crazy dress? And she said because if I had told you how hard it was going to be, you would never have done it. And now you've done it. And it's beautiful. 😆 look up a cathedral quilt. They are absolutely gorgeous and look complicated but nothing you can't handle. That's probably one of the first quilts I ever tried because I fell in love with it.

I love your colour choices, Scarlett. Both of the quilted vests look great, but I agree with you about the curved edge looking better.
I am handsewing a similar star pattern quilt but filling in the 'points' so it becomes a hexagon. My pattern doesn't include the centre square, so it's a bit easier than yours.
Just go with the flow with your video content ideas. I love all of them! From Australia ❤

Love your quilted vests! Your blocks look great. A tip - Press the fabric and spray starch it before you cut out your template pieces. There is less distortion on the bias sides, the pieces hold their shape and fit together better.

Since the thrift stores around here never sells any fabric, all of the stuff I am making is from thrifted clothes so far. Upcycling it into something totally new. I am new to sewing so its a great way to learn. The large tote bag I just made is entirely from upcycled clothing from the thrift. You could try something like that too. Then its a bit of a challenge as you need to try and find the type of fabric you want. I also just turned a dress into leggings and I wore them today to the ranch. The bag even has a lining too.
Other challenges I have seen other people do that is sewing related is to go into the thrift, pick out 2 or 3 items and then somehow combine the material from those items to make something new. .... I have also seen 2 youtubers do this challenge with a partner. They each send the other 2 or 3 mystery items they buy and then the other has to combine them to make a new item. Those are fun to watch plus it makes you be creative.

That quilt is really coming along and its so pretty! Try a curling brush instead of an iron. You can't burn your forehead (been there), and its better for your hair and you can use it on wet hair if need be.

The quilted vests are cute with the patchwork, buttons & beads on the appliques. But in a way, they remind me of a bib. The big sash bows make them really cute. Im leaning toward the red trim vest with rounded corners too. How about a bolero type with opening down the front so the pretty dress neckline can show more, what do you think as an option? Oh and yes, slow stitching is very therapeutic. I love to do that and crochet or knit. They all definitely create a calming self, well, for me anyway.

If you are worried that the first square you made is bumpy and will "goof up" that quilting fuzzy stuff you put under it, why not make another block and just say the first block was practice? Then surely all of them will be nice + smooth ??
