- After having delivered two excellent Soulslike action RPGs in the Nioh games, Team Ninja is back with another one that has a different flavour to it- if Nioh was their Dark Souls, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is their Sekiro. And yes, that means it's an even more challenging game than the studio's last two efforts.
Mechanically, it's a dense game with a lot going on, so here, we're going to go over a few basic pointers that you should keep in mind as you dive into its offerings. - เกม

@CeeTruth I'm honestly not 100% if there's much tips to go over. It's honestly super forgiving and kinda easy compared to Nioh or Sekiro, especially sekiro

If you play it like dynasty warriors than you're going to have a hard time
2:30 an important thing to note is that parrying criticals doesnt guarantee a critical strike, but getting your opponents spirit all the way down by damaging them and deflecting their attacks.
Spent 2 hours on first boss, now im just killin everything soo easy and deflecting like nothing. This game is fun 😝
first boss is way too hard and the rest of the game is so easy, the bosses aren't even memorable
The 1st boss is kicking my ass I can do his 1st phase easy but then even dodging his attacks hit me 🤷

@@iitzfizz yep I realised I was missing a button prompt (maybe Y and B together). I was just trying to kill him but you get his health so far down and you can activate a dragon power that defeats him and a cut scene play's.

I love Sekiro. When i play this game yesterday it was just like a walk in the park and I'm loving this game too.
Wo Long is not easy, but approchable, average gamer like me, will take hour or less to accustomed to boss fight...

Specially because the weapon/equipment systems seems to be simpler than Nioh (you need a college degree to understand that thing🤢)

Luckily I have two college degrees, one for Nioh and one for Nioh 2. Now I need a third for Wo Long.
Because they don't seem to matter as much as Nioh. It's a little learning curve for nioh but once you know how it works its honestly 100 times better than wo longs
Biggest difference is that gear doesn't have levels other than the star rank, which only determines the amount of affixes.
You can also start messing around with the crafting very early on compared to Nioh. I put lightning damage on all my gear and I'm bodying most things I come across with lightning enchant.
@MooseCastle agreed. I just think Nioh did it better. At least it felt better. I made a dope poison build with kusarigama in nioh and all the affinities made sense. It rly hasn't seemed the affinities in wo long make the same impact after playing around with different builds. I pretty much body everything no matter what affinities I have on my gear.

Here’s a good tip don’t waste your time if you still want a working controller or console as the first boss is just to difficult and seriously impossible even when I am level 20.
Skill issue
Load up the boss arena and don't fight him. Do nothing. Just stand there and see how long you can deflect. You need to master deflection before anything else. The timing window is weird in this game so it takes a while. After that you'll beat it, or atleast start getting to phase 2 without taking any damage. TH-cam how to bait attacks in phase 2 for an easy win.

is there a way you can turn off the alliance system ? I want to go solo , I realize the first 3 bosses were slightly challenging but not fully challenging due to the fact that the bosses normally get distracted by my AI companion , for example i hear persons crying that the first boss was extremely challenging , but i only died like 7 to 8 times , second boss was i only died once , third boss i died once …. I want to die like how i died 100 times facing lady butterfly in sekiro , give me pain
You need to use willow branch in your inventory. That will expel all AI and Coop summons

Plays more like a hack and slash than a Sekiro type game. Combat is way too fast for the intricacies of using parry and dodge efficiently.

No, if you're under the level of the flag, planting the flag will grant you the higher level the flag provides

It's curious how most reviewers say that this game is more difficult than Nioh while players often say the opposite. I've even seen people tell that deflecting and parrying isn't even necessary and dodging works as well. I'm so confused about all of this.
I've had zero issues with dodging and the parry system. In fact I LOVE the parry in this game.
People are never happy. They’re upset about no stances and only light and heavy attack when DS was the same. Light heavy attack only. They also fail to see this isn’t technically Nioh 3. Then they complain about enemy variety when lots of great games do the same.
People also didn’t like Sekiro because it strayed from Dark Souls. Umm, that was the point. It wasn’t Datk Souls although it was the same developer.

To clarify difficulty have the game reviewed by someone who is a casual gamer,pointless being reviewed by soulsborne veterans.difficulty is subjective, what one person finds hard someone else might not .
Its hard for a casual gamer. If your a busy person you won't want to be spending 2-3 hrs defeating one boss you'll probably play it and stop

They probably do want to Remake Ninja Gaiden Black as that was their most successful one, but the code was lost sooo many years ago when the servers burned.

"More challenging than the studios last 2 games" wtf are you talking about. Idk why I keep clicking on your videos, with rampant mispronunciations and absurd bullet points like that that tell me the original article was written by someone who is reading from a press release or maybe played 15 minutes of the game and asked a chat ai for differences to nioh and what tips for beginners would be.
Both nioh 1 and 2, especially early on when resources and build variety is limited, are some of the hardest souls likes, period. Part of that is the Diablo loot system and reliance on large stat differences where someone who wants to focus on action will have to hit a boss 70-100 times while they can be killed in 2-3 hits or even one shot. The Nioh series is challenging even for souls vets. This game is a cakewalk catered to newcomers, which I don't have a problem with, but saying it's more difficult than nioh because "as souls is to nioh, sekiro is to wo long" is an absolute joke and whoever wrote that and the separate guy that read it who I'm convinced doesn't even play video games, should be ashamed.
I'm not an "all game journalists are noobs" type but the output from this channel is so bad that it brings down my respect for this modern incarnation of the profession as a whole.

What is going on with this video? The title says it's things Wo Long didn't tell us, but you basically went through the tutorial and repeated what the tutorials say.

I LOVE the three kingdoms lore but this game has so many weird systems and gameplay feels so wrong .
But i also HATED Sekiro.
Like if they JUST had basic combat it would be fun but these elements , deflecting , etc systems ruin it for me.
Wish it wasn't a soulslike game . So sick of these types of games. No checkpoint bullshit 3 phase boss fights.

Morale system is stupid should be base on your level. Not grinding out killing enemies. So tedious
