@@RobertMitchell in that case it did indeed. Having a classic rental must bring all kinds of nightmares. But I meant seeing the E30 and the Silverado being lapped quite quickly ;)
Thank you for this video! I loved seeing every single 'classic' car and the original paddock. It's amazing how everything survived the war. I also loved your dramatic pause while the dog in the stroller was going by. Also, thank you for the explanation about 'classic' rentals for the kids who didn't experience the 'old days'.
Corrado VR6 - My Childhood dream .. sad that i never really got to drive or own one, i'm still in love with Corrado and i even love the Rieger GTO Bodykit on it (yeah .. i can live with the hate from others for that! xD) - Passenger would be either Röhrl or Stuck, telling me some crazy stories of their careers.
The old Fahrerlager is my personal Mecca. That is truly a Holy Ground for a Motorsport Enthusiast. The History of that place... To think which People and Teams walked there, rested there, fixed their Cars and Bikes. All the joy and sometimes sadness that took place there. Amazing.
Great video Misha but not nearly enough footage of the older cars IMO such as the Alfa, Maser and the Ferrari roadster on your right that you ignored as you walked right past. SHAME. Just kidding. Nice job and I like your comments about the history of the old garages. My wife and I spent the summer of 1967 touring Europe, including spending 4 days at the German GP. I have photos of Hill, Clark, Amon, von Trips and all the others in the garage area that I took when we were walking around. We stayed at the Hoch Acht Berg Hotel for a few days and I even drove a lap in my rented Opel. Our younger son Kurt works for Seimens and spent 3 years living in Gorlitz. I came over with his older brother a few years and met him at the Ring and spent a few days driving laps. We stayed at the Hoch Acht again but the proprietor this time was the son of the gentlemen who was there in 1967. Kurt spent many hours driving from Gorlitz to the Ring and doing laps. All 3 of us greatly enjoy viewing your videos. Many, many thanks.
Nice vlog Misha - one of your best! I think if I could, I'd take my old Peugeot 309 GTI (or someone else's as mine was crashed) on the Ring. It's ironic that I lived in Germany in the 1990's and didn't take it to the Ring :-( If I could time travel... ;-)
Heerlijk dat goud van oud, weer een kwijlbakje vol van al die lekkere oldtimers. Hopelijk ben ik volgend jaar zelf in staat om naar de oldtimer GP te gaan.
You cant help but fall in love with these things of beauty. There is so much stuff you could choose from but would love to lap a jzx100 toyota chaser(not stock) with my dad as a co-driver.
I know it is not something super special, but it is my childhood dream. Toyota Celica (ST185) GT-Four perhaps even in rally spec with all bells and whistles. Juha Kankkunen as co-driver definitely.
I’d take a lap in Gerry Marshal’s old Super Saloon “Baby Bertha”, a Vauxhall Firenza with a 5l Holden V8. Epic beast! Co driver..... Sabine, she knows her way round the Ring 👍
Enjoyed that, so many great cars including your mates e21👍 Can understand not having old cars as rentals, would keep the recovery trucks EVEN MORE busy. If i had to pick one old car to drive the ring it would be my old red 1987 e28 m535 from my young days, with Moran as my co pilot👍
Philip is so funny. Gotta take him on his word, told me to come to his shop for a beer, never had time to do it but hey, maybe next time ! And I'll maybe convince him that French cars aren't that unreliable =P

As for my choice of a pre-1995 car to take on track,1989 Porsche 930S with Walter Rohle as my co-driver :-) And note to self : Plan Nurburg vacation for early August :-) and as always huge thumbs up & much love from Ohio!!!!
That 16 cylinder car is from hildersheim, I used to live there for a few years when I was growing up, 32 years later I still remember the numberplates for there, and h was hannover I think.
Well, knowing that a Ferrari 250 GTO would only be a pipe dream or a M-B 300 SLR, then the only one with even a whiff of a chance of happening, a Ford Cobra Daytona, and for a co-driver Mario Andretti.
Shelby Daytona one of my all-time favs. Only 6 were built last one sold in 2009 for $7.2 million, that was during the financial crisis, they estimate between $10-15m now
Would've loved to go but I went to LeBugShow in Spa. Also an amazing event! Just a tiny bit slower :p Nice E21 btw! I love 'em to bits but my ex ruined it for me, she had one :p
my grandpa grew up at the ring and he said as a child he and his friend climbed in the trees and jumped to the paddock roofs because they didnt have money to enter

I need to see this next year. My dad would love it. Old cars are nice for enjoying a lap without pushing too hard, I have some oldtimers I would love to lap around the ring just for fun but I’m too worried about other cars going too fast around me. Is there any kind of event for such cars where you can go for a lap without worrying too much?
1971 XY Ford Falcon GT-HO Phase III, or a 72-78 XA,XB or XC Ford Falcon Hardtop or a 1977 Holden LX Torana SS A9X Hatch or a 1972 Holden LJ Torana GTR-XU1 any of those in Bathurst spec. Those bitches were born to run on twisty mountain tracks!
Nice vids. I was at this great event. I saw you in the isileta. Will you uploads the onboard footage on the Nordschleife of the electric and the v8 isdera?
@@mgcharoudin Yep doesn't really know the brand before i saw this one. Really interesting cars. I was just beside you when you were installing the go pro on the imperator.
Impressive Cars. So beautiful. Even more beautiful if they were stock. But i would take the SL from 1:30 without a second of thought. Wonder how he got the H Plates. Either it must've been made like this by Mercedes as a Special 30 years ago, or he found a loophole.
Misha you should have had two girls dress up in old school clothes and bring back boosted Boris that would have been hilarious 😂😂 or maybe he's too hungover still....
Awesome. I was there the whole weekend, it was awesome, as the last years. But i never knew where the old boxes are, i think i knew it now.( At the End of the normal paddock?) Thx
Misha, you mentioned it. There are three reason why you don't use old cars, but there is actually som oldies what can be use for racing. Not for rentals, but racing sometimes. I love VW Käfer, and if you check Memminger-Käfer www.feine-cabrios.de/ He build a new T4 engine, 2.7 liter and 210 hp, and a Käfer with better steel, and so on, ABS, servo, than you are in the same liga as the old Porsche 911 RS from 1973.
@@mgcharoudin If I suddenly can afford a Memminger-Käfer, then you will be the only one besides me to take it on a lap, if you have time for something so useless. The price for a such thing is, as for a good Porsche.
David Ball what an awesome car and what great season 1996. I still have the black Cliff Calibra of Manuel Reuter in 1:18 on my board. Was driving a Calibra turbo those days. Gee that thing was a weapon on the autobahn 😁

That one did not age so well 😂 But I totally get the rental argument. A classic as a rental would be a horrible thing.

R5 GT Turbo! My first car, I loved it and yes, it did break a lot :-)
