This is N54 engine, pretty much best engine that BMW have after 1990`s-2010 gap, N54 is good contender against 2JZ-GTE, RB26DETT, AAN, 4G-63, all of those inline engines are capable of reaching 1000+hp and are so fcking durable in stock I've heard of guy who bought GTR-R (not skyline, the VR38 engine nearly 500hp stock), didn't ECU tune it, maintained it by factory manual and drive till nowdays 260k miles without any issue

Its so cool how such a highly modified car like this manages heat and problems in real time and then gives you full juice once its ready. People who tuned it did a great job, especially at 400k!!
It doesn't manage it. It cut power several times in this lap, then the fuel injection went wrong, and the suspension is terrible. The only thing this car is good at - is a straight line acceleration until it overheats.
@@kordaxmint533 Suspension isn't terrible. It's great if you have 300KM, but can't keep with 800KM+. Like in Forza. You can drive E92 M3 on Nurburing, but if you put 800KM will be horrible to handle (because speed near corner will be much higher).
@@FlopsPL I don't care about suspension for the case "if you have 300km". I wrote everything clear and correct. The suspension is terrible on this car and needs a massive upgrade.
It’s definitely a beast in the straights. Hopefully the owner will actually upgrade suspension/brakes and add more cooling so it can reach its full potential on the track.
Thanks man! Funny thing is ... its got even more power now 😂 1000+HP, but to make it track worthy at anything above 600HP will be a bit of work. Fingers crossed I can improve it a lot for next year.

@gmballistic506 Engine was built in Poland by me, my friend and my mechanic Adam. I can list you all the parts I used, including company which can close the deck on N54 block. My built is something you can call a budget built, £400 for closing deck, about £1500 for forged pistons and rods with new rings, £200 for King bearings for crank and rods, etc... I have hundreds of pictures documenting most of the stages of my built ;)
Absolutely with you ! ive just spent best part of 13k today to upgrade my brakes and suspension purely to get Misha to take it round the nurburgring! thats how much I enjoy this channel !

I really like the detail of trying all the cars, from the most powerful to the most familiar, and making the owners' enthusiasm grow even more.
And yet people will still hate on 335i cause its not an M car. These are 100% the best bang for buck cars. Got my one owner, bmw serviced, 80k mile 335i for 8k out the door and it stomps on anything short of a nearly 6 figure modified car
Same here. I purchased my 2007 335i as a project 5 years ago. I literally replaced every wear point on the car. Motor has been done. Trans done. LSD diff. Went with M3 control arms. All bushings and ball joints replaced. Full suspension replacement. Stock turbos but FBO. Brake kit. The thing handles and brakes like an M3 but has the beautiful N54 performance. It's an animal.
This man seems like such a wonderful, lovely, sweet guy! You can tell he really put blood, sweat and tears into his car and he is so proud of it. I love to see that! I hope he may drive as many (safe) miles on his cars as you have subscribers Misha 😃 what a great video!
@@IanRossDavies I think he was not really being terrified of the car, he says he drives it at 300 km/h, but I think many drivers get sweaty when they let someone drive their car at high speed myself included especially when I'm on the passenger seat of my own car
If you go back and watch, even though it was yellow and they were driving slow, he was downshifting and I think he even went to 1st gear and had it almost redlining.
@@seanvandergriff7161but a red line from downshift rather than fuel shouldn't make as much noise surely? All the noise comes from throttle % * rpm, right?
Even with the wick turned down and semi slicks this would still be a monster. Look forward to seeing it with bigger brakes and better suspension. Congrats on 900,000 Misha!

@Fanati_XX Biggest aim of my winter spare time will go into sealing the floor and create an actual rear diffuser. I have to do it in a way to enable hot air from engine bay to escape easily, there are some ideas to use it in a way F1 used blown duffusers ... just time and money needed 😎
I think full slicks just for the occasion plus of course big brake kit, solid suspension and plenty of coolers for everything incl transmission oil and all

Congratulations on almost 1.5 million subscribers. I loved to see this car because I'm going to work on my dad's former daily driver, a BMW 635CSi which also did some mountain climbing races (he was the co-owner of a racing team and ended up keeping all the cars after his partner passed away at a very early age). Anyway, the 635 has around 170,000 km and I had been a bit reticent in making it a racer again. Aside from the "stupid years", my eldest daughter, a racing fanatic, and I have been going to the Nordschleife for the last 13 years. We will be there this year. This is our favourite time, choosing the cars to take and driving from Portugal to the Leife (I avoid flying at all costs). Cheers.
Just a side note, I notice that young man from Italy is back with his home built race designed race car. Loving the new wing on it too so looking forward to that video for sure!
Absolutely nuts. Handling all day long, I owned an E82 135i which had suspension work and quaife LSD fitted. Utterly brilliant and doesn’t need big power. Miss it and wish I’d kept it over my M2. It does show how how good the N54/55 lumps are. So decent shocks, Alcon brakes, LSD..
Love it!!!! I have a e92 335i myself with the N54, they are a beautiful vehicle, will be a future classic. Would love a big single one day. Thanks for the upload and congratulations on the success of 900k subs Misha, will be a million in no time.
The acceleration from this car has my heart in my throat just watching the video, can't imagine trying to get this thing around the Nurburgring. Nice driving, really impressive car!
I'm seriously impressed by the tune on this car, the power delivery seems so smooth for a big single turbo, and the conti 7's did really well putting the power down too

Dear N54 colleague @lightmanek, my 335i is at 560HP and here are my recommendations for you: - Ohlins Road and Track suspension. You cannot get better than that.. extremely comfortable and stable. - uniball arms - CSF watercooler - twin Setrab oil coolers plus Mosselman thermostat. - Yokohama Advan A052 tires :-) They will not last long but will get you to different level.

Misha, I think they have a issue with the mic that picks up the noise level... had the same issue when we went out for a lap. My car is not loud at all. The next day I talked with the gentleman in charge at the track entrance office.. he said that if it happens again to come see him for a static noise check.
As an N54 owner it's always interesting to see what other people are doing with theirs! Single turbo ones always looked crazy but I never considered it for the track, it just looked too unpredictable...this confirms it I think I'll stick with upgraded twins! :D

@trujillo71921 It really is everything I wanted when I started this project 6 years ago when comes to straight line performance. I never imagined I will pish it this far, but step by step we eliminated weak points and thanks to people like Andrew from 0to60, Ken from Wedge Performance, my friend Piotr and garage owner Adam from QSevice we have build this. I took inspiration from few USA TH-camrs cars, namely AdamLZ and Jake Spence, but iterated and improved on their builds. Not an easy jurney but definitely rewarding.
These things are rocketships, and the engine sounds absolutely mundane while doing it. I'm amazed that I've had mine tuned on E85 for 11 years now and it's had no issues aside from the normal wear and tear of high mileage stock versions (like the suspension). The only change it REALLY needed was a clutch (I have the manual AWD version, 1st gear is explosive if the wheels can grip). Mine is not set up for a track, though. The suspension is old and terrible and needs critical replacing.
Winter gives me time to work on these ... but coolant temp is only an issue on The Ring, so for my car, only 0.1% of it's yearly usage. Still, I want to make it even better ;)
Yes, I have few bits on my channel, but for 'reasons' I cannot do crazy stuff while in UK. I might have a video upcoming showing E92 335i doing over 330kph GPS on Autobhan :P@MotorHeartAT
Its an amazing piece of kit well done. Just a shame it wasnt properly dialled in. The way it pulled away from that Porsche when it was head of it was crazy. Would have been great to see it being chased by the GT3@@lightmanek
@hogwild5844 Thanks mate, it will be more of a track car this year. Custom cooling system, maybe better suspension and a bit more downforce ;) I will keep power around last year's levels for Misha, he has a habit of overheting tuned cars 😆
My hot take is that the E90 is better than the E39. I've owned both. The E39 just couldn't hold onto its plastic parts nearly as well as the E90. Also, recirculating ball steering and water-cooled alternator for the V8 (M62), c'mon :| Or, you could get the V8 E39 with the air-cooled alternator, but that would get you a carbon buildup problem that costs like $8k to clean, and an engine that sounds awesome (the S62) but doesn't build the mph nearly as well as the N54.

That setup with the auto trans and clutch pedal is unlike anything I've ever seen. Clearly that car has a lot more tech work going on than just a big turbo.

Thanks mate! It accelerates 20% faster than that on highest boost, but it's only for motorway or drag strip short bursts on full throttle at the moment. But car gets to 300kph+ quite quickly on it 🏎

I have a feeling you got banned not because it was too loud (or the microphone has to be really sensitive when you gave it the good ol kickdown, but the GT3's are generally louder) but because when you drove away at Flugplatz from the accident you pretty much booted it and the car got a little funny on the rear end and I think you can hear the tires skip traction... Maybe they thought ''oh no, another UK hoonigan'' and decided to blame you on the car being too loud so you wouldn't discuss further..
Agreed, coming out the yellow zone I think the marshall called it in. Not so long ago there was a cock in an M3 / M4 drifting out of a yellow at brunschen, maybe they are clamping down on it?
I think the guy didn't even understand them. He said "für euch ist heute Feierabend" in german. Something like "the day is over for you guys". When Mischa asked if it was too loud he didn't even listen / understand and just said yes. So he didn't say it was for the noise and also didn't really confirm when they asked...

I’m in United States and I have a 2000 Mustang GT . Has 375hp and I raced a 335 I and I couldn’t believe how fast it was . My Stang has a V2 supercharger and full bolt ons. It ran 13.22 at 105 . With my 4.10 gear set up and he ran a 12.92 at 111 . Spanked me . Those cars are underrated just like all BMW

Aside from the "stupid years", my eldest daughter, a racing fanatic, and I have been going to the Nordschleife for the last 13 years. We will be there this year. This is our favourite time, choosing the cars to take and driving from Portugal to the Leife (I avoid flying at all costs).

Absolutely nuts. Handling all day long, I owned an E82 135i which had suspension work and quaife LSD fitted. Utterly brilliant and doesn’t need big power. Miss it and wish I’d kept it over my M2.
It does show how how good the N54/55 lumps are.
So decent shocks, Alcon brakes, LSD..

I agree. Went through so many mods over the years and I think ST and manual to Auto gearbox conversions left the biggest impression on me.
I own a stock 2017 bmw 340i and he’s MPH goes up faster than my KMH. Realy impressed build man.

I'm seriously impressed by the tune on this car, the power delivery seems so smooth for a big single turbo, and the conti 7's did really well putting the power down too

Shout out to the owner and Ken from Wedge Performance. Ken tuned my old 335Xi 6266 swap as well (videos on my channel). He knows his stuff with these engines for sure. Very nice build and good to see it can handle the ring even in a street build.

Dear N54 colleague @lightmanek, my 335i is at 560HP and here are my recommendations for you:
- Ohlins Road and Track suspension. You cannot get better than that.. extremely comfortable and stable.
- uniball arms
- CSF watercooler
- twin Setrab oil coolers plus Mosselman thermostat.
- Yokohama Advan A052 tires :-) They will not last long but will get you to different level.

Misha, I think they have a issue with the mic that picks up the noise level... had the same issue when we went out for a lap. My car is not loud at all. The next day I talked with the gentleman in charge at the track entrance office.. he said that if it happens again to come see him for a static noise check.

As an N54 owner it's always interesting to see what other people are doing with theirs! Single turbo ones always looked crazy but I never considered it for the track, it just looked too unpredictable...this confirms it I think I'll stick with upgraded twins! :D

Never measured 60-130MPH but 100-200kph on 27psi is under 5s.

@trujillo71921 It really is everything I wanted when I started this project 6 years ago when comes to straight line performance. I never imagined I will pish it this far, but step by step we eliminated weak points and thanks to people like Andrew from 0to60, Ken from Wedge Performance, my friend Piotr and garage owner Adam from QSevice we have build this. I took inspiration from few USA TH-camrs cars, namely AdamLZ and Jake Spence, but iterated and improved on their builds. Not an easy jurney but definitely rewarding.

These things are rocketships, and the engine sounds absolutely mundane while doing it. I'm amazed that I've had mine tuned on E85 for 11 years now and it's had no issues aside from the normal wear and tear of high mileage stock versions (like the suspension). The only change it REALLY needed was a clutch (I have the manual AWD version, 1st gear is explosive if the wheels can grip). Mine is not set up for a track, though. The suspension is old and terrible and needs critical replacing.
This thing is nuts. Once they get the gremlins with cooling and overfuelling sorted along with suspension and brakes it will be a monster.
Winter gives me time to work on these ... but coolant temp is only an issue on The Ring, so for my car, only 0.1% of it's yearly usage. Still, I want to make it even better ;)
Yes, I have few bits on my channel, but for 'reasons' I cannot do crazy stuff while in UK.

My hot take is that the E90 is better than the E39. I've owned both. The E39 just couldn't hold onto its plastic parts nearly as well as the E90. Also, recirculating ball steering and water-cooled alternator for the V8 (M62), c'mon :| Or, you could get the V8 E39 with the air-cooled alternator, but that would get you a carbon buildup problem that costs like $8k to clean, and an engine that sounds awesome (the S62) but doesn't build the mph nearly as well as the N54.
@@TheFerruccio M62 water alternators are a good thing, because when the valve cover starts to leak the alternator is not covered in oil.

Thanks mate! It accelerates 20% faster than that on highest boost, but it's only for motorway or drag strip short bursts on full throttle at the moment. But car gets to 300kph+ quite quickly on it 🏎

I have a feeling you got banned not because it was too loud (or the microphone has to be really sensitive when you gave it the good ol kickdown, but the GT3's are generally louder) but because when you drove away at Flugplatz from the accident you pretty much booted it and the car got a little funny on the rear end and I think you can hear the tires skip traction... Maybe they thought ''oh no, another UK hoonigan'' and decided to blame you on the car being too loud so you wouldn't discuss further..

I’m in United States and I have a 2000 Mustang GT . Has 375hp and I raced a 335 I and I couldn’t believe how fast it was . My Stang has a V2 supercharger and full bolt ons. It ran 13.22 at 105 . With my 4.10 gear set up and he ran a 12.92 at 111 . Spanked me . Those cars are underrated just like all BMW
