It's scary when you realize that your car can do things you've never imagined and the limiting factor is YOU, especially if you have an image of yourself as a very good and competent driver

I recently did a track experience at Goodwood and I was stunned at how much quicker the instructor was going.
I pushed a bit on the last lap I had and topped out at 130mph, the instructor topper out ~155mph
I know I'm not the fastest driver out there, but the difference was staggering.
There is always a better driver. You an never let your ego get in the way. Only the very best get to say they are the best because you need some serious nerve to drive fast cars.

My car is like that. It's a very slightly modified Mustang and you think that's slow and heavy. It's certainly no supercar or Porsche, but wow it flies past 100mph on a track if you let it. :) Also like this M3 in that it's a shock at first at how fast it actually can go.
Its not the speed thats scary its the fact that Misha looks like he's just going for a leisurely Sunday drive 😂
It's the same thing my wife always says of me about when I avoided two cars crashing on my driving line (I was driving normally and they appeared speeding out of nowhere, already understeering). I remember that for my brain it was like everything moved in slow-motion, so outside i was completely calm as usual. I'm by no means a pro driver, but I play a lot of sim racing and I think it helps somehow with the perception of how to behave in certain situations..
I know exactly what you mean. I had two people yesterday have a massive crash in front of me on a major roadway at 80+ mph. I had to go full abs, emergency braking, avoid the car ricocheting off the barrier and avoid traffic in the nearby lane. I managed to get out unscathed, heart rate probably not far off resting. God bless sim racing. @@amimaster

@@amimasterI get the same reaction. My family is always freaked out because never blare on the horn or freak out. I just react to what's happening. This changed a little when I started trucking but, bigger horn means more reason to honk lol.

Even a bit bored i think. He is much more excstatic when driving older honda or older cars in general.
It’s still worth mentioning that driving like that in a driver’s seat is a completely different experience than sitting in the passenger seat. Everyone tends to feel safer while actually holding the wheel than just watching it done from the other seat. Taking that plus the fact that Misha’s skill and speed is insane looks exactly like the guy above. It must have been a ride of his life :D

Isn’t it remarkable when you let your buddy take you for a spin in your own car, you sitting shotgun- the accelerations feel so much more intense? It’s a rewarding perspective in its own way.

Hats off to the owner for facing his fear and allowing Misha to show him what his car is capable of even if he’ll be happy never going quite as quick.
It's the inexperienced passenger's own expectation that makes it so scary for some people. You can see it in the first corner very well. Misha is accelerating way past where he _thinks_ you should start braking, so he enters a sort of panic mode.

I love this man. Despite being completely terrified, he remains completely lucid and there. This is the type of person you'd want with you during the most stressful situations in life.
Really good point. I totally respect the passenger for being open and staying in the game, trying to have fun and actually asking good, fair questions. There is a physiological component to his experience as well, as somewhat larger people produce a disproportionate amount of adrenaline - and he’s keeping it pretty well in check.

@@ChrisSmithClickPoweryeah we’re all pretty used to going fast in a straight line on a smooth ass road. Add corners and undulations to the mix and it’s a whole different ball game.

I remember many times Micha saying always look ahead when a car is overtaking and I think even Micha made a mistake when the m2 with the wing overtook. Of course his skill saved it with barely any drama.

You must definitely don’t have to be rich to have a really fast car, but you must definitely need to work harder and more to buy one.

On the Ring, and don't quote me, but it was said that if you can't drive it well with 100 hp any more is useless. Work with what you have and learn the course, you'll be better for it.
Civic, light chassis, 250hp, makes it pretty quick. Add a little more power at 300-350 and you have a beast. Good suspension and you have a car that will truly put a smile on your face. If you want RWD, buy an old miata. You'll have a truly fast car either way.
Not sure where you live but in las Vegas you can pay to drive fast cars around a track for a few laps. I drove a GT2 RS.

absolutely fantastic video once again, brilliant passenger reaction to your driving, So good to see you’re back into the flow of things n it shows that when you fall off the horse sometimes it is better to get straight back up and on, dwelling on it will just drive you crazy and put fear into your head. The Focus RS driver was too concerned with making sure his car wasn't greanading that he didn't know he was blocking people for half the lap.
Typical RS driver, thinks there the fastest thing on track, and never are.

This guy was absolutely hilarious! I used to own a SC300, one of my favorite cars. Seeing a stanced SC on the Ring was something I never would have anticipated, lol.

This is very stressful … “it’s ok” 😇 love the drivers composure 😆😆😆 I used to take people out on the backroads on my turbo swift with the goal of leaving the passenger with skid marks … I was never able to take first on the straights but nobody could catch me in the corners 💪

@@richardhammer187 The base M2 makes 365. The M2 Comp (in this video), makes more than 400. It's also lighter, and clearly has some modifications. They are the same drivetrain entirely. Just a slightly smaller car

I honestly feel for this dude. I'm scared of heights, and first time I ever went on a roller coaster my friends made me go on a fast one which you hang from, and it goes out 100ft up over an empty lot, so nothing beneath me with g-forces pulling me down. I'd imagine I was feeling the same emotions as this guy😂
It's like he's riding a rollercoaster for the first time but it's a new one that goes halfway down Mount Everest with 170 loops and other trains on the track with you. I'd bet he was in a state of pure bliss for a long time after this.

I thought I drove my 2019 Fiesta ST pretty fast, then I went to the ST academy. Those professional drivers are on a different level. Wow! I am not just a bad passenger, I make myself sick sometimes driving through twisty roads.
