    This is a video that should be spread all around the community because most people have absolutely no idea when to get mercs or what to do during an enemy curse.

      well you assume people playing hots in plat have positive IQ

      Beware, you don't want to do mercs or boss DURING their curse

      kuramkarameruk haha jokes on you.
      Last time I played ranked got stuck in plat 2 yet here I am trying to understand the game. Also some people don't have time to get better, I too don't play hots that much anymore, because there is such a thing as life and the problems that come with it. So stop insulting people just because you can.

      Nick Schaeffler yeah, hard to communicate. I try this in advance. So I write something like "if we lose a curse, we can go boss instead."
      Sometimes this works out, sometimes people seem to forget or don't understand. It's like a 55% success rate or so :D

      Benjamin Carnes Benjamin Carnes this even happens in gm levels. Not that I personally have experience with gm play, but there was a recent video by cattlepillar who pointed out how many camp opportunities were missed.

    Another reason other than in lower ranks that people dont listen(something im occaisonally still guilty off.:p) is that individual skill feels like its more impactful. Teamfights are more swingy with lots of mistake so a player having a good game will have more to capitalize on. So games are more back and fourth even with disadvantages.
    P.s. love your videos, youve really reignited my love for the game. Hadnt played for months when I stumbled upon your video of "in the mind of a gm thrall". So thank you for that!

    I really wish there was a way to streamline informative videos like these to the community. There are a lot of cool strats you can employ to come from behind or swing advantages. Sadly, the majority of the community only employ 2 or 3 strats (if i'm being generous.) idk if the community is ill-informed or just willfully ignorant. We should all be of the learning mindset when going into a new match.

    Thumbs up. Making the right decisions for a better outcome in a bad/disadvantaged situation. That includes taking boss and mercs if you can't win an objective. All part of the game. Definitely better than dying for nothing.

    The real problem of low/mid tier games and gamers is that the majority of people underestimate the power of mercs and slow/split pushing during the match and while contending objectives. And that leads me to an other conclusion: players do not really understand the role of specialists in this game. Most people thinks they're some kind of strange sustained casters, and can't fulfilled the role they are meant to be, which is control the rythm of the battle. When I see some Sylvanas or Zagara loosing time without split pushing or doing camps, expecially when their lanes are already well pushed, It's like a pain in the heart for me. I got memories of a match where my team was over 20 kills under, and we won because our great Gazlowe did the boss solo and pushed an entire lane to the core while most of our team was dead, and the over team was just focusing our last tower without watching the map. Even if we played bad, I felt so good about that victory because it was the pure dimostration that a good tactic can outstand even the better individual skills, and that's why I love moba over all others online games. Anyway thanks for the great video, hope it could be seen from a lot of new player, and keep on doing this because I'm improving a lot thanks to your channel.

      Sylvanas isnt a solo laner she can make camp with her allies but split push isnt her main utility you take Sylv cause you want To snow ball an obj cause of her trait. She can make a lot of poke on obj. For Zag its different

    • @Devilfish6666
      @Devilfish6666 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've experienced kinda the opposite, ppl are ALWAYS constantly soloing the entire game when they pick up a specialist and never show up to push together or do an objective. You can skip the first 2 tribs on Cursed Hollow or some shrines on Towers but even then, learn to ping and communicate with your team. It's just useless to not communicate, not show up to an objective and let your entire team die in the process. Yes, they should see what you're up to and sometimes they even die although you ping 100 times hours ago. Sometimes ppl have this "master game plan" that they think is perfect and they follow it 100% of the time. But sometimes it also helps a lot to just say what you wanna do so that your team can react to that. Especially after level 10, soloing without communicating so often leads to 4 man wipes on the rest of your team cuz the opponents move as 5 and your team doesn't realize they should engage or avoid fighting.

    Here are my top tips on coming back from a "losing" game:
    1. Don't team fight (5v5) if the enemy team is lv. 10 before you.
    2. Don't team fight if the enemy team is lv. 16 before you.
    3. Don't team fight if the enemy team is lv. 20 before you.
    4. Resist tilting and saying how bad everyone is.
    5. Trade a fort or some structure damage if the enemy team is ahead.

    the amount of times we've been 5 levels down and couldn't get the enemies out of our central base for 5 minutes straight and then won bc they were so committed to their stomping of us that they didn't notice a single camp of siege trolls killing 2 forts and then the core uncontested bc one specialist slipped thru the long-fight massacre

      bonus points for getting screamed at the whole time by your team when you singlehandedly won the game

    compared to LoL, probably its biggest competitor, hots has far more comeback mechanics. With the merc camps, and power spikes its not impossible, altough sometimes u just cant come back with certain comps (or at least some are really difficult, and often include the enemy misplaying rather than just your team playing well)

    I feel your team must have really great waveclear. If you have a teamfight team it is impossible to comeback (the enemy can always throw ofcourse) But when you are 2 - 3 levels behind even skilled teams cannot win a fight. But if you have the waveclear you can get a lot of XP by just depushing the lanes.

    When you are 4 levels behind but still win.
    I know my limits(sometimes forget them and get rekt or I somehow get away/make a trade).
    If somebody calls me bad its ok because I dont know myself how good I am(I could be Plat or be bronze but I am not interested in Ranked, since 2 years of playing).

    The problem with snowballing in this game is that people never try to prevent it like you guys did. See, the highest difference on team exp was by far 1 ~ 2 lvl, which translates into 1 talent tier, but within reach. What you see from silver to platinum (where i am now) is people letting things get worse like 10 x 13 or 13 x 16, in a way that trades don't work at all because whatever you try to do, the enemy team can just gank you or steal your camps and you are done for.

    dont trust this video, I'll give you the real advice
    _ as soon as you see the objective's timer, go steal enemies camps, and try to go alone, especially when you're support
    _ the curse (in curse hollow) is the best moment to do boss
    _ when all the enemies disappear from the map is THE BEST moment to push and over extend
    _ never let your tank goes in front of you
    _ if you play support, its useless to focus heal on your tank, he has a lot of HP, just peel for him .. with your body
    _ always face check, blizzard placed free legendary skins in the bushes and you dont want anyone to be there before you
    _ the best time to do camps is when the enemy is at your core, it will always surprise them
    _ if the solo laner joins the team for the fight/objective, go IMMEDIATELY take his place, you dont want to miss on that extra soak, especially when you're playing morales
    _ split push in two lanes maps is soooo underrated
    _ if you win your lane you win the game, so stop caring about other lanes, and you dont need to leave your lane to defend core
    _ if you kill all the enemies, always remember to take your breath at your base

      And one more, always go 5 in mid lane with a hard push for whole game so the it forces enemy coming back to defend.

    When you're behind, get camps. That was said, can i assume camps should be done if we aren't missing soak? In this situation if i have to choose between soaking a lane or taking a camp (i can take it before a second wave comes, but i will lose one wave), what would you recommend?

    • @clankboss827
      @clankboss827 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Malachi Shawn mercs also give xp

    • @DarthMalaster
      @DarthMalaster 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aye, i understand they yield XP. the question is: My teammates are not going to soak top or grab siege for whatever reason (they don't want to, they're busy, far away, doesn't matter why) are not going to do either. I am going to do one of those things at the cost of the other. I'm playing Raynor who can't clear that quickly or merc quickly enough to not miss soak. I'm asking if i have to choose, do i give up the lane xp for the merc xp.

    what about in plat and shit when your team only goes to obj when youre talents down and skip obj to split push when you have the advantage and always do everything the opposite of what you ping and somehow manage to kill themselves at the most unfortunate time even when you warn about rotating enemies lul i like the game but i swear i hate the people playing

    Doesn’t work in silver and bronze, not even gold. Ppl there already get mad, when you skip a tribute which isn’t going to be a curse yet, Also ppl there are like lemmings: Objective is up, gp there. they go there alone, walking into a full team, go there outnumbered or levels down, when the others have ults. Ppl there don’t even check the mini map. If team mates are bot lane, at a camp or whatever and clearly not moving to the tribute top, why even go there so,o? But I see this constantly. Heck, you can even ping retreat on an objective, write in chat to give it or tell your team you won’t come because you try to catch up on XP. What will silvers do? go there 4 vs 5 when the others have ults. Then they wipe and your XP effort is already destroyed again.
    Blizzard did a terrible job in explaining players the strategies. One big problem is that they marketed this game as a hero brawler, dumbed down every hero, added quests... which all made players only care for brawling. There are players that just try to start every fight, whenever they see an opponent. No matter if outnumbered or not. Most players in this game lack the basics. They don’t even get XP soaking.
    I wish people would watch such vids of yours. But the truth about multiplayer gaming today is: A bunch of spoiled kids, that are selfish and don’t care about others play multiplayer games like solo games. They don’t care if others want to win, as long as only they can have fun. While back in the days multiplayer online gaming was for nerds and people that cared about a game, today you have players that don’t even take the time to read the abilities of heroes, and patch notes? Forget it.
