I use a toothpick as a cable needle for socks. Smooth it first with fine sandpaper

I use bamboo marking pins for a cable needle when knitting socks.

Thanks for making this so simple to understand. I have always been afraid of cables, but not anymore:)

Once again you have made something I thought to be so complicated to be so easy. Thank you so much. I watched this as I sit and knit my second pair of I’m So Basic sock ☺️☺️

I have been wanting to learn cables but intimidated but after knitting your Totally Rad Ribbed sock I knew I would be able to figure it out with your pattern. Can't wait to start this (after I get off second sock island).

Great video and pattern. I just don’t get a bit on the chart as the chart showed 11 stitches and the cable 4 symbol was on two stiches. Is that just for the two stitches you put on the cable needle ? I think writing this comment has helped me understand !! Thank you x

Thank You Summer! Your teaching/instruction technique is so easy to follow and helpful. With your guidance, I am hoping to master socks...Any recommendation for Continental knitters? Cable knitting as a Continental knitter is a real PIA! Also, do you have a video with Magic Loop sock knitting in DK or Worsted weight yarn? Appreciate you!

Worsted and DK is on my list!! And I’m learning to knit continental, but my tension is still a hot mess, so I still need way more practice!

How to knit the NO STICTH?

I have yet to try cables, but I’ve seen that you can do them without the extra needle. Thoughts?

Yes! You can absolutely do them without an extra needle. It stresses me out to do it that way on sock yarn, but I don’t use the extra needle when doing them on worsted!

I love the fact that you "throw" knit. I still throw knit. I'm trying to teach myself to flick knit or continental knit to increase my speed and improve tension and it's a disaster. Do you have experience with these techniques?

I need to know when you’re purling. I think I see that you’re doing it, but I’m not sure
