I wish I could give this little video at least a dozen thumbs up likes, this explains how to work a cable so clearly and includes some really hand little tips. Thank you so much xx

I've watched several videos and you are the only person to cover my question/concern. When knitting the first part of the cable from the left needle, snug up the stitches to prevent holes. Others say the holes on the sides of the cables are normal which I don't like. Thank you for covering that issue! 🥰

THANK YOU!!! I love these easy to follow videos with thorough explanations. Thank you for mentioning what to do on the purl side as well!

Brilliant! It's been 3 or so decades since I did any serious knitting, especially cables (I'm retired now), so this was an awesome re-learn. Thank you.

The way I remembered when I first started knitting cables is Right/Rear, Left/Front (both left and front have the letter f in them).

Hello Kate, I've just started knitting cables (I've been strand knitting for months and fancied a change). Your video was extremely helpful, and you explain everything so clearly. Thank you so much. I'll be looking for your other videos now.

this was just the video I needed! I'm knitting a C4F and C4B cable pattern and I am dealing with loose stitches transitioning from knit to purl. So I will definitely try intentionally twisting that first purl. Thanks!

I've always had problems with that stretched out stitch on the left edge of the cable! Glad to hear it should come out with blocking. I thought I was doing something horribly wrong.

Thank you for your tutorial. I don’t know how to avoid a short strand of yarn over my cable stitches on the odd numbered row

Very helpful and clear. I'm frustrated by that stretched out stitch on a C4F--but no purl to make up the tension. I'm going to have to get creative

Hello Kate. I am hoping to add cables just one 16 stitch pattern to a plain sweater. Am i right in thinking that adding a cable pattern to a plain sweater will make the sweater tighter?? Is there a way to counteract this.

Good morning, I've researching this, but cannot seem to understand how to proceed. My pattern calls for a CR8L stating "slip next 7 sets to cable needle CN, p1, then (k1, p1) 3 times, k1 from CN". Can anyone please help?

I disagree. The larger needles do not make the demonstration more clear. I’d prefer no larger than a 5.5 mm. The gigantic needles and bulky yarn are clunky.
However, I appreciate your time for the demo.

I just noticed that doing cables is kinda like the turn signal on ur car. U push it up, or back, to signal right and down, or front, to signal left. That actually may not work for some people but I'm a truck driver so I'm used to which way my signals are. Others may not even know what I'm talking about and have never even heard of a turn signal before and for those of u, I'm sorry this isn't that helpful.

Your reassuring side comment of saying "It's perfectly legal" is tantamount to my family's saying, " According [or that's not according] to Hoyle" though the thing about which Dad, his card playing buddy my oldest brother, or Mom is speaking, is usually not anything to do with playing cards, but instead, making a joke about something that went wrong. Btw, Literally wrote the book on games such as poker. Sometimes it can just be characterizing the efficient auto who made up the rules for swinging a hammer, or gluing a drawer front, or a dovetail joint, raking leaves efficiently....
