The golden years of the Ottoman Empire come to life in a television series. The life of Suleiman the Magnificent is preparing to be a guest in your homes in all its glory. Get ready to experience the era with ambition, loves, wars and all the struggle.
Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Sultan Suleiman's wife Mahidevran just arrived from the palace of Manisa. He is looking forward to seeing his wife.

Bu sırada, Karadeniz üzerinden içi köle yüklü bir kadırga, İstanbul’a doğru gelmektedir. Kölelerden en ateşli olanı ise, kaderini değiştirecek olan yolculuğa çıktığının henüz farkında değildir. Geri dönmek için çaresiz bir şekilde isyan etmektedir.
Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

This was perfectly executed and the concluding scene with Hurrem and her kids on one side, Mahidevran, Mustafa, Ibrahim on the other, and Valide and Hatice in the middle was a testament to the opposing forces, so brilliantly exhibited by the director.

The actor who played Suleiman's role is brilliant, incredible n awesome performance through out d whole series. He truly fits d role. Fabulous performance. He deserves d Grammy awards.

I love the reaction of Mustafa when his siblings arrived. He really loved them. Too bad he had a tragic ending. I remember that scene when Mahidevran was already telling him about her plan. He said, "They are my siblings. I'll die for them if I have to."
IRL he didn't care but for 2 of them but that was because the chances of them being a rival to the throne was slim to none. On the show he was close to Cihangir and Bayezid but IRL he was close to Selim and Cihangir. He really believed that because Bayezid was the stronger of his brother(militarily) he was the stronger rival after Mehmet that is. He DIDN'T like Mehmet. He wasn't even close with his sister either. Their relationship was completely severed after she married Rustem. Selim was the only one Mahi like. Hence is why he restored her allowance and household when he came to power.

@@Dramawitsvu17 Actually Hürrem's childern weren't close to Mustafa. Especially not Cihangir who was a toddler when Mustafa left.Süleyman, Hürrem and the kids lived in Topkapi Palace (moved in 1534) and Mustafa allready left with Mahidevran to his province. They didn't come all the time to Istanbul like in the series.

@@Everythings3765 bcaz Mahidevran in all stupidity jumped to conclusion that Sulaiman will die this time surely and started trying to act like Valide Sultan. Valide overheard her speaking of her ideas to one of her slave concubines of how she will throw everyone out of palace and murder Hurrem's children and all these schemes and Valide became shocked on hearing that the women she always sided with wished to throw her out of palace and most importantly kill her son's children. This is when Valide started siding with Hurrem and gave shelter to her children.
She finally was forced to see Mahidevran as she really was, especially after the " conversation" that she overheard. The Sultan had already told Valide to keep Mahidevran in check, now she had proof positive that he knew what he was talking about, and came face-to-face with the monster she helped to create.
I love the scen when hurrem return in the palace with his children ♥️
Regardless of any and all problems one could possibly have, I still think this is one of the best episodes of the series. It tonally sets up the rest of the franchise itself so perfectly and succeeds to stand out and shine in an unique light in a batch of otherwise really strong episodes (and a really strong arc) in this delightfully hot mess of a season.

Ibrahim was exceptionally honest and fair in this episode. He doesn't jump on an opoortunity of gaining the favors of to-be Valide, Mahidevran. He is ready to even confront her to save Hurrem, his rival and enemy, and her children - just because his friend and lord asked him to do so.
I so hope that's true.

Exactly. She knew she had to fight for the survival of her children. It's not her fault for becoming a brilliant game player and merciless with her enemies. It's the system which forced her to be who she became. Love her. Such a lioness of a mother and woman.

Same scene in episode 121, that time the scene is dark, the music smells blood and hurrem looks mahidevran with a face of "your end is a matter of days" and mahidevran looks back with "again luck was by your side and you will continue like valide sultan... Lucky once again", however, I also sense fear on mahidevrans eyes on episode 121, here I see her just "ok next time no problem!"
