B Marsh and squad, considering this is a HUGE issue with athletes especially for minorities, is there a financially literate former athlete that will spearhead such a project with a respected institution/group of finance guys/women that will force young guys and old heads to learn some financial literacy? I would be so on board with that and would love to see you or others push for that
I really hope the young athletes preparing for the league, the athletes currently in the league, and those struggling after the league….ALL watch this video. Amazing content
Antoine might still be one of my favorite players to this day. I have his autograph picture hanging on my wall still. Those early 2000s teams with him and Paul Pierce that got to the Eastern conference finals those were my teams. I was in like 10th and 11th grade when they were challenging the nets for the Eastern conference. The good old days.
DJ is right. Nothing wrong with relaxing, and unwinding. All work will destroy you. Not everyone has the mental bandwidth to work their ass off then go study to know everything about finance. That's not realistic. As a child of immigrants your mindset is totally different even growing up in the same places as poor Americans. Less hang ups and a different type of perseverance. Financial institutions just want your cake. Wait till you are bored and your mind isn't being pulled in a million directions. School teaching dumb shit like the Pythagorean theorem instead of real life stuff.
You can't stump Wale. He's listening and observing everyone in the room. I would like to hear more from Wale. The gentleman in the camo pants just doesn't get it. He needs to put the drinks down. I like that Walker was being so honest.

Quick advice, for investors only Most people think, Investing in crypto is all about buying coins, then leaving it to rise, come on it takes much analysis to be a successful crypto trader. I've made $16,000 in 2 weeks of trading. With a capital of $3,400

To answer one of Walkers question. The reason why people can't have nothing together is because of GREED. People can have something going really good but always thinking they're bigger than the next....
@@ogflowers1578 Actually I think it's the opposite, you have it backwards. They made a bad decision by not investing their money and they want to blame him for it. Then when the money started coming in a year later they want to speak on ownership and yell "but friendship" and "we started together". Yeah but Bmarsh had to take all the risk. Antoine is saying Everyone put their MONEY together and do this. They declined to do it.

42:45 got so real!!! Personally have always thought about that and a lil salty there was no answer to Antoine’s question and the convo went in a totally different direction..great talk tho
This was an excellent episode. I felt a lot of what was said. Even though I'm not an athlete, there's a lot I can take away for my own personal journey.
Real talk this is one of my favorite podcasts but lately they have been having several episodes based on financial advising and I personally like hearing the athletes talk about experiences they had in the sport they played. The truth is the 1percent of the world has the money you guys are actually talking about so I’m not getting anything out of learning what to do with my 5 million dollar contract..
I think learning about the value of money is a topic we all need to know. Once you get out of making "survival mode" money this topic is VERY important. Personally, I'm tired of just hearing war stories of what they did while they were in the league, all those stories start to sound alike after you here so many.
@@shakaj8639 I agree with that but I also think their is a big contrast between how they spend 6 million and how I send 60 thousand per year. I’m listening to them for their insight into the sports I love to follow not for financial adjustments..It actually hurts more then it helps (not to sound like a hater)
@lou the thing is a lot of what they did people making 60k are trying to do with their 9-5 and credit. I know and see a lot of people making less than 60 going to Vegas and Miami eating, sleeping, and partying in the same places and driving Range Rovers.
@@shakaj8639 I was saying it in a funny way but I guess as I’m cutting into pipes just to get a few hours overtime to get some extra money and they’re breaking down spending $54,000 on plane tickets,,, that hurts me as I’m working…I’m kidding but I’m seriously being a hater.. Thing is a guy like Antoine Walker as a big story on and off the court for numerous reasons so I was in a way let down listening to this .I respect everyone’s input though
Unfortunately, you not being financially literate is not the fault of financial institutions, or your family, or the NBA, or the NFL. Brandon is right, Its called education and the WILL to want to learn. If at the end you are broke after you have worked for all this money. Its on you, all these basic terms like, ROI, Basis points (fancy financial talk for a fraction of a percent), PV, FV, rule of 72, 4 % rule, debt service, nominal, real, realized, capital gains, compound, depreciation. I mean you can go on and on. There is a reason for all of this. The US educational system is designed in a way so that you are NOT financially literate by the time you graduate high school. So at 18 you can get a credit card and not know what 18.99% APR is? its a country of consumption. While in several countries finance classes is a part of there curriculum. The US does not teach you the importance of a credit score and how in the long term you will save on interest if you finance the two largest purchases of your life (home and car). With all the content FREE on youtube you do not even need to pay for these classes. Instead of being on social media "flexing" and spending hours scrolling, youtube the above basic terms and you will be more financially literate than you were yesterday and you will find out how much you got F*** for so long. Google an "amortization schedule" type in your terms and take a look at the breakdown of your monthly mortgage. Maybe this will motivate you to pay more toward your principle and own and perhaps have some financial freedom. I am bored at work and I had time today!
This is the type of content the culture needs. There are A LOT jewels in this episode. People need to see the ugly side of being a professional athlete when you don’t protect your bread.

Yes we have heard the sad tales. It is time to turn those sad tales into success and positive stories. Great stuff. Financial literacy is key.
We need a part 2 walker played basketball with Donovan mcnabb at mount Carmel high school in Chicago
I still wanna know how he bought the same house 3 times tho 🤔
B Marsh and squad, considering this is a HUGE issue with athletes especially for minorities, is there a financially literate former athlete that will spearhead such a project with a respected institution/group of finance guys/women that will force young guys and old heads to learn some financial literacy? I would be so on board with that and would love to see you or others push for that
15:29 pretty much sums up what we're all thinking without saying it
I really hope the young athletes preparing for the league, the athletes currently in the league, and those struggling after the league….ALL watch this video.
DJ said he invested $300K into Sara Stokes from Making The Band? LOL!!!
Lmaooo
He had to be smashing
Don’t invest in what you don’t understand. Slow and steady wins the race. Financial Education starts at home.
this might the best episode yall done in a min
Excellent convo… inspirational- motivational… we’re all in this together.. Thank you Gentlemen, you all are truly a Blessing! One day at a time.. one hour at a time…No one is perfect..no one …
I definitely need to see Antwon Walker in a interview where they actually let him speak and finish his statements. I really would love to hear his story In detail from him which would have been this interview but I think the guys drop the ball on this one. Still luv u guys though
Quick advice, for investors only
Most people think, Investing in crypto is all about buying coins, then leaving it to rise, come on it takes much analysis to be a successful crypto trader.
I've made $16,000 in 2 weeks of trading. With a capital of $3,400
$16,000 That's really big.
I trade on my own, but I've only made $2,800 in a month
Wow!! I thought I was the only one trading with Mr. Gary, I just withdrew my profits of $25k after investing $3,500, in two weeks of trading
@@holandkim3453 you should go on long term investment. I'm a long term investor, I started at the beginning of the year with $10,000 presently I'm having $103,700 on my dashboard, it takes patience.
I got referred to Mr. gary a week ago, and invested $5000, I've already made $23,000 can't wait to withdraw in two weeks.
Wow..!! that's amazing, please how do I started trading with him?
To answer one of Walkers question.
The reason why people can't have nothing together is because of GREED. People can have something going really good but always thinking they're bigger than the next....
just like bmarsh did with this podcast
@@ogflowers1578 Actually I think it's the opposite, you have it backwards. They made a bad decision by not investing their money and they want to blame him for it. Then when the money started coming in a year later they want to speak on ownership and yell "but friendship" and "we started together". Yeah but Bmarsh had to take all the risk.
Antoine is saying Everyone put their MONEY together and do this. They declined to do it.
Its insane that I finally understood finances when i started working in the wall street area at a mortgage company... in 2022, I can afford first class but i stilllll dont get first class on commercial planes.. 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
I love this show, but Brandon loves to argues. Bless his wife lmao
Deion Sanders is the future. .. He is a shining example of what future mentors should be
Dynamic show with an EXCELLENT TOPIC. We should even think about the financial education as early as middle school, high schools definitely!!!
i dont have any where near the money these guys got or had , but they got me doing line items on things i really dont need, respect great show
Walker is right about us investing together ✊🏿👍🏾
42:45 got so real!!! Personally have always thought about that and a lil salty there was no answer to Antoine’s question and the convo went in a totally different direction..great talk tho
This was an excellent episode. I felt a lot of what was said. Even though I'm not an athlete, there's a lot I can take away for my own personal journey.
Need more Wale on this show
Real talk this is one of my favorite podcasts but lately they have been having several episodes based on financial advising and I personally like hearing the athletes talk about experiences they had in the sport they played.
@@lousbasementpodcast1821 How does it hurt?
