Shipwrecks of the 19th and 20th centuries around Cornwall - December David's Dazzling Documents

Archivist David Thomas is showcasing one of two albums old Shipwreck photographs from the 19th and 20th century.
These old black and white historic photos taken by the Gibson family who were based on the Isles of Scilly and Penzance, form part of the Janette Rosing collection.
This collection of photographs and postcards show many scenes and landscapes of Cornwall, including these dramatic and occasionally sad scenes of shipwrecks.
The sheer volume of these photos show just how dangerous the Cornish coastline can be.
