I visited Cornwall from Australia recently because of this documentary. I was in awe of the art, the landscape and history of the place. Greatly inspired by these pioneers of art, can’t wait to visit again ❤
Thank you. "Art of Cornwall" Just watched and downloaded all. In the last couple of hours. Brilliant to View, to Listen and Learn. I could go and on In many respects. 🙏💭💭❤️🤺
Thank you for putting these all up - I watched all of them and really (mostly) enjoyed them LOTS! I was reminded of David Attenborough when he whispered by the sculpture! So much lovely art (mostly) and countryside...
I'm very moved by all 6 parts of this documentary. Before watching this I had no idea about the art of St. Ives and Cornwall. This was a very important art movement and very underrated in my opinion. BBC always has the best documentaries. Dr James Fox does a great job presenting as the host. Hope to see more. Keep them coming.
what a fab series! ive never been to Cornwall and it would be my dream to do so, and I paint it anyway. but thanks for this amazing insight. Is it available on DVD?
This seems to me to be one of the better programs for introducing someone to not only the art but also the context. As said here, Picasso was bullfighting. Another was golf and yet one more was the glider. Stone sculpture is intensely physical even with the smooth curving shapes, yet here we learn that she fostered a type of fear in people. American t.v. documentaries are worse than awful. I need to look to the BBC more often.

Oh, this part of the world is absolutely divine! I visited St.Ives once and will always re-visit this place. Very well presented!
