Hey 1upBinge, what the heck happened today? I thought you said and believe that Bowser is actually a good guy. Remember that? You said that Bowser is more like a good guy what happened? I don't understand. You even made a video of Bowser is actually a good guy. And when you made that video, that's when I actually believed it. So I don't understand just why😫? I've known Bowser in years and I've always believe that he is a good guy. Even Junior. Junior is a good kid too. And he is not a brat. Koopa troopas are not supposed to be bad. There subpost to be good guys.
And don't pay attention to that movie of Bowser ok? Please just don't because I hated how Bowser is in that movie. Bowser is not supposed to be like that. And plus I hate Mario movie that movie is terrible. Bowser is not supposed to be steal powers, torturing, killing, force people to marry someone and destroying many kingdoms. He's not supposed to treat his minions horribly, no. He's usually respectful and treats his minions like a family not horribly. He even takes a loving care of Bowser Junior and princess peach too. Yes, He destroyed some places but little bit, not many come on. The main thing that Bowser always does is Kidnapping princess peach and that's it and nothing else.
Haven't you all people forgotten something about Bowser. You get to play as him. When you play as him then he's a good guy. He even was in Skylanders that he turns out to be a good guy. And even sml, sure Bowser may treating chef pepe like a slave but at least that Bowser is not doing any destructive in sml. And Bowser usually tags and gets along with friends with Mario and the rest of his friends in many other Mario games. Remember?
Look 1up if you might be thinking that I am so naive, then I'm so sorry.😣 but I miss seeing Bowser as a good guy but still a villain like Loki.
I don't see how Bowser's infatuation with Peach in the film makes him hard to take seriously as a villain, when he proves himself to be an actual threat during the beginning and end of the movie.
I know right? I feel like he's the perfect balance between a comedy and serious villain. I actually compare him to being like Aku in a sense lol
Exactly! Pardon me but I'm getting into SPOILERS:
While Bowser's crush on Peach does provide comedy, particularly in the second act, the third act especially shows the dangers of it. Bowser's "love" of Peach on a superficial and toxic level, with him forcing her to marriage under threats, and when she does fight back he's quick to try and kill her with his flame breath. Not to mention Bowser's hatred for Mario in this version is based solely on how he's paranoid that Mario could be trying to steal Peach from him. So much that his reaction to seeing them together is to launch a Bomber Bill, which was essentially a missile strike on the Mushroom Kingdom. Not to mention his idea of a "romantic wedding spectacle" is a mass ritual sacrifice.
Which is why personally think the movie version of Bowser should rank higher, especially since he's clearly crueler and more ruthless than his main series counterpart.

Also with his idea of love being instant marriage or Peach's citizens are harmed, and with a ritual sacrifice happening at said wedding.
He should be the most evil, he’s the only one to have NO redeeming qualities and out of all of them, he’s taken the most seriously
The thing in Mario RPG that really puts that Bowser over the top for on the least evil is his reaction to two former troops in Monstro Town. Twice he discovers two former mooks of his that deserted his forces after Smithy's attack (a female Goomba & armored Koopa Troopa). They both are remorseful about leaving, but explain how they've made new lives for themselves... and with both Bowser says he understands and wishes them luck in their new vocations.
Its one of many examples of the nice emotional depth the game gave various characters.

I'd say Bowser in the 1st Super Mario Galaxy game had him at his most evil side.
Bowser's level of evil seems to depend on his mood and what he currently needs/wants at the time. In regards to Dry Bowser, you ca look at him as a separate entity that manifests when his bones animate, but he retains several of the real Bowser's traits.
Dry Bowser is literally just Bowser's skeleton reanimated. I don't know which Mario game I know this from, but in one of the games, after you do the usual hit button and drop Bowser into lava after a boss fight, he comes out of the lava as Dry Bowser where you have to do the entire boss battle again, just this time his fire breath is blue instead of red/orange.

Addition for King Koopa: He is, unlike the Bowser counterparts, quite a a***hole. He bullies his own children and minions, and doesn't shy away from betrayal. Bowser on the other hand appears to be good to his own children and minions and has some decency.
Except for his 2023 movie counterpart who doesn’t give a sh*t about his minions

Bowser just treats the Koopalings like any other minions lol, he even insults them in paper jam after they lose and punches Iggy in the face after Iggy made fun of him in Jr Journey. At least he trusts them enough to put Jr in their care, but other than that, he just treats them like he treats any other of his troops.

I would actually say that Movie Bowser (not President Koopa) is somewhat accurate to his mainline counterpart from the games!
Although he is very obsessed and in love with Peach, he also wants to rule the world and he not only tries to kill Luigi and the other prisoners, but he also tries to destroy the Mushroom Kingdom with a Banzai Bill.
On top of that, he also mostly treats his minions and even everyone around him horribly and even willing to hurt/kill Peach once he realizes that Peach would never marry him and that they’re breaking up.
I even heard someone that the only reason Movie Bowser wanted to marry Peach is because he needed a bride in order to rule the world.
who knows how evil he will become in the Mario Movie sequel?

Specifically, it doesn't occur to him that- in the absence of a power up- she won't survive the blast radius of the Banzai Bill, or that she would die to his flames he's spewing in his rancor over her rejection.
His goal is to enslave her since she rejected the opportunity to be his wife. If she dies it's an unintended consequence of Bowser's Fury, not his goal.

Even ignoring the fact that movie Bowser tried to sacrifice dozens of people and essentially nuke the Mushroom Kingdom, I'd say he's worse than main Bowser. There are some people main Bowser genuinely loves in a non-obsessive way (like Bowser Jr.) and he actually treats his underlings pretty well for the most part. Neither of those things seem to be true of movie Bowser.
I don't think all incarnations of "Paper" Bowser should be lumped together. He's portrayed differently throughout the series, and only the Paper Jam version is explicitly separate from normal Bowser.

I still remember when in one episode of the Super Mario World cartoon he was usurped (unknown to him) by Larry. Why did they make him the most prominent Koopaling in the cartoon and gave my boy barely anything in games?

Gonna be honest: I don’t count main series Bowser as being a character, but rather an obstacle. He’s rather ironically very flat compared to the paper version. The Paper/Mario & Luigi Bowers should be seen as definitive.
It's not that he's not a character, it's just he doesn't have much dialogue. But the little dialogue he has shows that he clearly has the same personality in the mainline games as in the RPGs.

Exactly I seriously don’t understand. The video game Bowser has like 5 redeeming qualities, President Koopa only has one, that being that he is an extremist, but it still doesn’t justify his actions in the slightest and he tried to wipe out all mammals
Movie Bowser should be higher. Going with the grain here, the guy is a demented lunatic, a barbarian and his love for Peach still did not stop him from trying to torch her straight away at the altar. THAT exact moment made me pause considering that while other versions do cast spells on Peach (like in the Nintendo power comic), I never imagined he'd try physically harming her... And I frigging loved it. It's a great movie and Bowser stole the show.
What do you mean he wouldn't harm her? Bowser tried burning her alive in inside story as well lol. And he tried beating her up in Super Princess Peach.
