- This is a short animated video on the function of Pyruvate dehydrogenase complex. Pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (PDC) is a complex having three enzymes that converts pyruvate into acetyl-CoA by the mechanism of decarboxylation reaction of pyruvate.
literally the cleanest explanation i've seen, great job
i just waisted 29 minutes on a video for decarboxylation of pyruvate and didnt get anything, the greatest explanation in less then 3 minutes... the best.
45 mins of class into 3 minutes may allah bless you and give you all your hearts desires. may you and your loved ones thrive in the earth and in the hereafter. amen
You explained 5 pages of my biochemistry textbook in 2 minutes
yeah man
Great animation. By far the best video I've found that explains this process. Thank you!
finally! something that gets the main ideas down in a clear quick way.
i've literally reseached on the topic for 2 hours straigh and didn't understand a thing; thanks to you i understood that it's a very stupid and basic reaction. thank you SO much
Wow 2minutes and it’s all clearly explained! Tnxx
This was a great visual, thank you!
Really it made the concept very very very understanding and easy ....thank you ...❤️
This was So quick n easy to learn 👍👍

How do you make acetic acid in the E2 complex?
At 1:48 I’m pretty sure that the oxidized product of E2 catalyzed process is not acetic acid but a thioester
yeah i think you are right
Thank you for such a clear explanation
Great short explanation
Simple and superb
Nice explained
Awesome video
this was so helpful!
رائع 🌹 بارك الله فيك
Wow amazing
great stuff!!!!
best explanation
very helpfull video
Wonderful!!! ❤
wow clear and quick!
Great video,thanks
Why pyruvate directly don't enter to Krebs cycle?
It has to be converted into acetyl coA so that it can combine with oxaloacetate and form citrate
Was this topic that easy? Man i read it for an hour and I didn't get a thing and u just took 2 mins.... Now even if i try I won't forget this😂
Can somebody explain why E1 is called dehydrogenase when it carries out the decarboxylation reaction?
Because also catalyzes the oxidation/dehydrogenation of Hydroxymethyl group of Hydroxymethyl-TPP to Acetyl group
this is great
thank you so much 💙
Great job! Kuddos to creators
thank u sir, you saved me
Thank you 🤗🤗
thank you❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Well explained
BRO please tell the mechanism too ..
thank you
Thank you so much
thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank uu
cool
😀😀❤️❤️
👏👏👏
great
i love the music
goated
Nice explained but , I think E1 is pyruvate Decarboxylase not dehydrogenase .
no it's dehydrogenase
10x man
All explanations are uulala, but don't mind why you try to change your accent 😟
good video but i hate the music
nice pronounciation
E1 is pyruvate decarboxylase + thymine pyrophosphate not pyruvate dehydrogenase
It is called p decarboxylase or p dehydrogenase, those are synonyms.
Dr Majid Awan They’re synonyms so both are right pyruvate dehydrogenase (decarboxylase) complex
*thiamine
Music is horrible
vurrryyyyyy gud! (indian accent)
Thank you so much
