thank you very much, I used your video to disassemble mine and replace the battery, very clear instructions and easy to follow. as a side note, you don't really need to disconnect the cables underneath the keyboard, you can just slide it down enough so you can get replace the battery ;-)

@@smooth.IT.operator Actually not. I managed to replace the battery but the computer would not run even plugged in. Upon investigation I found I had mangled the end of the flat cable from the touch pad. Now I can't find a replacement.
@@ramtek2702 Sorry to hear it. It could be challenging to find spare parts, maybe even used ones on Ebay, Amazon or Ali? You should be able to run your laptop without the touchpad plugged into the MBO I believe so your issue of laptop not starting might be deeper than that.
@@smooth.IT.operator I've already come up empty on all of your suggestions, but thanks anyway. What I suspect is the mangled contacts on the cable caused a short in the logic preventing startup. I will try running without a cable to see if I destroyed the logic permanently. I've done quite a lot of electronic assembly like this and that is the poorest style cable termination/assembly I've seen. Very easily damaged without knowing it.

Is the 970 evo actually working? Because i just found out that the asus rog gl752vw is only compatible with a Sata m.2 ssd and i already tried to install the 980plus which didn't work.
Well if it says only compatible with SATA m.2 SSD on the back of the laptop then you know NVMe PCIe m.2 models are not supported and don't work as you clearly stated.

Have to be honest, new battery wasn't of much use to me because the controller on the MBO or some other crucial component for charging the battery permanently malfunctioned. Cannot charge the new battery. Amazon links are OK (there is even discount on many of them). You want a SATA3 SSD 2TB? Be sure it is supported, check the manual please. Even if you opened any of my Amazon links and then kept that tab opened and searched and bought 1kg of monkey bananas from Thailand, I would still get a commission. Hi! Thanks for the feedback. Can you disable AHCI mode in BIOS (if possible at all) on SATA storage and then reenter BIOS to see if m.2 is visible. Please don't boot to Windows if you disable AHCI! Please temporary disconnect the BOOT drive. Don't think it is the capacity 1TB is the problem.

Caution is advised because I heard that m.2 NVMe SSD is not supported on some models of this laptop. You have to buy m.2 SATA SSD then (two notches on the connecting part, NVMe only has one notch).

Thanks for watching. Respectfully, I would go with Gen3 SSD hardware just to be certain and avoid the hassle. After you buy the Seagate can you return it if the laptop doesn't recognize the drive? Most important of all, only starting from Intel's 11th generation processors, there is support for PCIe Gen4. Unfortunately you won't get the Gen4 bandwidth even if your laptop recognizes the Seagate. Why not go with my SSD options from Amazon (in the descreption box below the video)? Good luck and please share what were you able to accomplish.

I have the same laptop I believe. Mine is the GL752vw 71 that came with the 1tb hdd, no m.2 ssd but does have the slot. It is m.2 sata ssd only from what i understand. Just wondering if you know if there is a limit to how big I can go for that sata ssd? I've read 250gb is max but then read others using 500gb. Thank you in advance.
H! Thank you for watching. There is really no limit to how far you can go with the SSD SATA m.2. To be precise, if you plan to go above 2TB (you really going this big???) then you can't use MBR for your partition scheme but GPT scheme. 500GB or 1TB SATA SSD should work just fine. Unfortunately you cannot put a TB of RAM in a desktop/laptop PC. These days mainstream laptop processors support max 32GB or 64GB available to expand via two memory banks.
Thank you for watching. You don't have to add drivers. It is "plug and play", the Windows OS should detect and install the SSD automatically. Is the m.2 faulty maybe? Did you try it on another PC? Did you enter the BIOS and check if the SSD is visible there? Check the boot devices on boot settings.

I have the same system and the bios won't detect the 970 evo, even after updating the bios.

I have the exact same model and it didn't work for me. I also found out that the m.2 spot on the laptop only supports a Sata3 m.2 ssd.
