So if you noticed around 10:30 I had 2 wrenches on the cams I used those to adjust them a little bit further. I rotated the intake came ever so slightly so get it back in place. I don't have the CAM lock tool so I have a little bit of wiggle room maybe 2mm in either direction which was just enough to get it aligned.
So I know with the oil pumps on the TSX they came with a balance shaft and if you swap to a K20 it can cause vibrations due to you removing the balance shaft from it. I would look into your flywheel as well as motor mounts to make sure they arent the culprit as well.
Thanks for the video man . Question . At the top gears when the chain didn’t line up into the black links on the chain how do you know which gear to move left or right ? Did you move the Vtc gear backwards slightly so the chain sit on it ?
Yes I did that exactly it was probably less than 1mm of total movement. Once I got it moved over that slight bit I put the tensioner on pulled the pin and pushed on the tensioner to add tension before rotating the motor. Chain didn't skip and the car has been running like a champ ever since. I'll finally have some new content coming soon of the civic.
The timing kit normally only come with the guides and 2 chains. If you’re talking about the VTC gear on the intake side yes if you want to get a little more mid-range power out of it. The extra guide I have that’s metal at the bottom is something I also purchased separately. I had plans to swap the intake gear from 25 degrees to the 50 degrees and the guide keeps the oil pump from losing timing.
It’s happening to me too where it’s not matching up like your but you didn’t show how to rotate it back

🔥🔥🔥thanks for the content bro 🤜🏽🤛🏽💯
Definitely made some big moves so there is more to come soon. land and some other surprises means more and hopefully better content!
How did you rotate it back ?
can engine vibration occur if the oil pump chain is not installed correctly, oem oil pump k24.

@@TheUnhappyEmo1 ok sounds good thanks for the reply 👍🏼
Good job buddy 👍
whats the name of the piece you used under the sprocket to hold it from skipping time
It’s called a lower timing chain guide. Drag cartel K series skunk2 all make them.
Yo my man i bought a kit but it doesn’t come with the variable valve sprocket do you recommend buying it?
