    Hello Chris... are you sure this knife is 420HC? The MG Primitive Bush is a satin finish 420HC. However... Many/Most Condor in this size range are 1075... so wondering if this is polished 1075. It looks to be different stock, finish, and thickness (maybe actually even thinner) than MG Primitive Bush.

      You're right I checked. Amazon has it wrong. They had the best price and I was going off what was right there. And what they have on the page for THIS blade is 420HC, but on Condor its 1075. That't my mistake for not catching it.

      Thanks Chris, I thought that might be the case concerning the blade's steel selection. Environment/conditions and intended uses would be key to choosing something like this. I see this as a hybrid of an old' Hickory Butcher and a machete.

    Is it just me or has condor shot up in price? Not just on their newest items, but also on their older stuff. Everything seems to have gone up in price yet QC is still not the best and materials used still don't warrant their pricing.

    I like it..Looks like a good light weight tool to clear brush , brambles, and vines. We have a ton of wild grape vines and wild raspberry bushes around here. The Condor I really want to get my hands on though is the Atrox. That is one bad ass looking knife! Damn thing is sold out every time I go to buy it.

    • @DShiflet01
      @DShiflet01 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no purpose to it, it's just Condor's signature, lots of their blades have it. All it really does is allow you to hang it on a nail in the your garage wall or something.

      Slightly "softer" steels are better for machete-style blades, as they require more toughness than a shorter/ thicker blade does. Also, it seems to be 1075.

    Hey Chris, this is a silly question coming from a knife guy to another knife guy, but when you talk about negative angle, what are you referring to, the bevel (looks like a Scandi) or the overall blade geometry (the way the blade drops below the handle)? Sounds weird but if you look at a comparison, the blade looks like an overgrown Case Tribal Lock pattern... Not sure how good a Scandi grind would be for chopping, but would probably be good as a shorter machete for softer plant material. Thanks Chris, hope all is well. - Mike in Pennsylvania.

    • @kydd666
      @kydd666 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe negative angle he means that the edge drops below the handle (like a kukri) instead of being in line with the grip (like a BK9)
