- This video took me a while for a few reasons, mainly a bunch of stuff I've been trying to work through emotionally and some sort of creative block. I kept trying to work on it, and I just couldn't force myself to.
I got it done in the end though, so I hope nobody thinks I died.

Long Robotic Eggs.
First off, I want to apologize. I made way too many vocal flubs during this (long robotic eggs, really?) and I just feel like you all deserve better. I will start making a conscious effort to improve my speech.
At this point, if I had to re-record all my audio, all of this would have fallen apart. This video really did push me quite a bit. It was undoubtedly fun, but it took a toll, and if I'd have had to do it all over again, I would have started resenting it.
On a different note, I also feel like this is one of my least defensible videos. I at least try to be transformative in my discussions of Enter the Gungeon, and for the most part I think I am, but one thought that kept worming it's way into my mind while making this was; "Am I really any different to that guy who just scans and uploads a PDF version of the book by doing this?".
That's a question that I still don't know the answer to.
But I figured moping over it wasn't helping anyone, and that if people legitimately didn't like the video, I'd know about it soon enough.
I need to strive to get better, and I am.
Thank you all for sticking with me.
Nevernamed your content is so awesome no need to apologise! Keep up the awesome ETG videos! Could you maybe make an updated timeline/lore video? Thanks again for the videos!
The lizard people made trees so they could be turned into paper, and consequently we could get this Ammonomicon.
Don't worry we don't mind

Nevernamed what? You don’t know what robotic eggs are?
I can't open the book, I don't have a gun

Still can't open the book. I tried shooting a stapler at it but it hasn't been added.
Even if it’s a dead meme, I still love the angry bullet kin.

"Lich, I've come to bargain!"
Can we all just agree that the cut gunslinger is the lich before he was the lich

Like the Bard from crypt of the necrodancer? Cool.
Might actually find out now.

20:45 I feel like this is a reference to Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star. Just something about the pose, I think.
23:57 The Magic Bullet references Dr. Strange, I think. The cape and necklace are dead giveaways.
OR A JOJO REFERENCE
Thx dark matter pancake
@@darkmatterpancake It really isn't. It's a reference to Fist of The North Star, not JoJo.
Yeah at first I thought the buff bullet kin was supposed to be a Jojo's reference, but then I searched up fist of the north star and you can find that exact pose on the images.
@@TheRodger64 That's... exactly what they were saying. It's the original comment...
I was a bit taken aback at how small the book was; I had thought the book was more along the size of a grandiose tome.
And some clarifications on pop culture references:
The Alien Sidearm kin is a crude approximation of the Halo Grunt.
The Mine Cutter Kins are references to Dead Space, the one on the left wearing Isaac's helmet
The Magic Bullets Kin looks to be wearing the new Dr.Strange costume

15:09 Considering that "Bundle of Wands" is written over this one, I think it's safe to assume this is a reference to the Hogwarts Express from Harry Potter.
19:19 This is a reference to Death from Ingmar Bergman's movie "The Seventh Seal"

15:00 I feel like it may be a reference to the meme about the almighty Helix from pokemon (one of the fossil that you can get in a cave).
Oh dude thats true
Z and the Gatling Gull, at 17:30... It’s interesting to note that Z isn’t wearing his eyepatch as far as I can tell, and is also holding his eye like it’s injured.
I mean, I seriously doubt it’s canon, unless the Gattling Gull actually didn’t originate from the Gungeon and they duked it out beforehand, but it looks to me like the Gull is the one who took Z’s eye out. Just saying.
Welp, time to sell my kidney.... I NEED IT

20:18 for the Alien Sidearm that is most definitely a Grunt from Halo
20:20 reminds me of Katamari Damacy prince/cousins while the miner bullets 20:22 is definitely a nod to Issac and the necromorphs from DeadSpace.
Man, that painting of the Lich as a human really makes me feel for him for some reason
20:45 is either a JoJo or Fist of the North Star reference, no doubt about it.
I wanted it to be a Jojo's reference, but if you search up Fist of the North star, you can find that exact pose in the images.
I'm pretty sure that's Fisting The North Star because of the shirt he's wearing, and that came first with muscly men so no
Yare yare daze...
Thank god it's not a jojo reference
I mean jojo is pretty much a fist of the North Star reference
24:23 Mayhaps hugging time, and the cord snapped off... Rip those two... also accidental invention of flak bullets.
Really cool video! The vocal slips are perfectly fine. They didn’t make me want to stop watching and I found them to be funny, not saying you should keep making them though. Keep being you and improving your videos the best you can. 👍

I use my ammonomicon to take notes of things I discover when I play in the notes section.
Like the mimic gun, and how it jams bullets.

Nevernamed! do you think a gungeon card game would be cool?
Yup
Yes yes yes yes
I can do that.
I always thought that the bullet king’s fire attack was molotov wine.
With the 'A Farewell to Arms' Expansion and this video, I may have figured out a loose timeline for the Gungeon...
The Story begins when The Gunslinger enters The Gungeon, and delves right into Bullet Hell. After defeating the unknown Master of the Gungeon (We don't actually know because it gets replaced by a Glitched version of The Gunslinger's future self, The Lich), he is revered like a God by the denizens of The Gungeon - he decides to stay and protect the inhabitants of this place, so no other evils corrupt it.
Spend too long among the Gundead however, and you will eventually join them...
Sometime after the Gunslinger's passing, the monstrous lord Cannon begins his conquest of the Gungeon alongside his dark priest Ahgunim. He kills the Old Bullet King and takes the Throne for himself. A Hero of Legend attempts to stop him, but falls to the Dark King. Cannon's conquest takes him all the way to Bullet Hell, where he is finally defeated by the Gunslinger at the cost of his life. As Ahgunim is about to declare himself the new ruler of the Gungeon, The Gunslinger's corpse becomes filled with unholy energy - the Gunslinger has accepted an offer from the otherworldly being Kaliber in order to continue guarding the Gungeon from those like Ahgunim and Cannon. Ahgunim flees after the Lich rises to face him...
Decades later, Three Bulletkin come across a set of Dentures (possibly Sir Manuel's or Blockner's) and some Sunglasses - only two of the three could have them, and they were transformed by the magicks of The Gungeon into Smiley and Shades. The third Bulletkin broke up with them, and desperately searched further within the Gungeon for its own Item to evolve with - eventually coming across the Lead Throne of the Bullet King. Having been abandoned after Cannon's destruction, the Bulletkin decided to claim the throne, and become the New Bullet King...
The Lich, having had the previous bearer attempt to conquer The Gungeon, came up from Bullet Hell to confront the new King. They quickly learned their place, and was spared from the Lich's wrath - thus the Gungeon returned to a stable state...
...until a group of new Gungeon Delvers arrived in The Breach, seeking the means to Kill their regretful Pasts...
Thanks this was a really good comment!
Nice lore
If they added item bullet enemies, they should be rare, difficult, and drop the item they are based on.
I love that they have nuclear throne refrences
Pop pop.

19:50 Does everyone forget that Skuskets exist?
Their name references Muskets, but they aren't actually Musket balls.
Yeah.
20:46 That looks way to much like kenshiro from fist of the north star
20:45 is a jojo reference I know for sure because I've seen the episode where dio and jojo make those poses and it was also from fist of the north star (it was actually originally from fist of the north star)

16:28
Is this sarcasm? Because if it's not it's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I mean.... Adult Mutant Bullet Kin? Whatever.
17:39
This may be a small nod to the "Chicken Fight" gag from Family Guy, where Peter Griffin and a literal chicken-man fist-fight. This is just speculation though.
19:27
Yes it has buddy.
21:48
An obvious reference to either the Pokemon Zubat, Golbat, and Crobat or the Keese from Legend of Zelda.

“I trust you to figure out what that’s referencing.”
I think it’s pretty obvious that he understands the TMNT reference. It’s such an obvious connection that he would trust that people would understand it without him needing to point it out
Well I wasn't entirely sure if he was being sarcastic or not. I understand the reference myself and I didn't know if he was legitimately asking for help because he didn't know it or being sarcastic.
UnknownCleric2420 it’s all good
@@formerctgovernordannelmall1452 Precisely.
@@UnknownCleric2420
Imma be honest. I don’t think that a large bat-like enemy in a video game is an “obvious reference” to another bat-like enemy in a video game. The Pokémon and Keese are even that big, so that doesn’t make sense. Bats are just common enemies in video games, especially ones taking place in dungeons.
Hug the bullet snake, hug him! Also, wooo, ninja!
My first time / times playing the game, without knowing of the memes, Lead Maidens... I will never use anything but my most powerful weapon for them...
20:19 mabie it is called magnet kin and it tanks bullets for other enemys. Like if you want
according to the info from the cannon's description, agunim suceed to take gungeon from the lich, using gundeads betray thier master, promise better life and furture for them. so cannon suceed to conquer gungeon from lich and get rid of him into bullet hell, but unnable to control the gungeon itself and "reloading the room" because only true gungeon master know how it works. so lich trapped in bullet hell since that happen, and gungeon just stayed in that state also lots of people coming in, looking for gun that can kill the past.
ok most possible gungeon enemies exist in the R&G floor now.
11:33 ya know that make sense since the bullet likely wouldn't have sought out the gun that can kill the past if he had no past to kill, he likely scorns every single bulletkin but because we can only get one bulletkin around him we all assumed he was the only one he scorns, no, more likely he hates all gundead equally but likely doesn't care about humans. So I know this isn't programed in game but, how would the cell creep react to another gundead that doesn't want to kill his past.
And then the AFTA update comes out and the R&G floor has like 2 dozen new types of bullet kin.
20:19 (heh) its a Grunt Kin (Grunts are enemies from Halo)
“A drawing of a living knife, we shall not speak of such blasphemy” I see what you did there
Id like to think the misprints are because the cultist messer up the ammonomicon
"Now here is what I'm good at over analyzing things" Nevernamed
23:05 he doesn’t even realize the joke they were going for big oof for nevernamed
My theory on the cannon vs. lich thing.
Cannon and lich were once friends trying to conquer a kingdom to be their own. But, when the lich found the gungeon without cannon, cannon freaked out. And proceeded to kill his friend, the lich. The lich was then sent to bullet hell while cannon was conquering the lich’s kingdom. The lich proceeded to escape bullet hell and fought cannon in a endless duel. But in the end, the lich won.
Well, that is my theory.
Correct your spelling please and thank you
I think you’re wrong because Cannon’s fight is really easy.
"endless fight" "in the end lich won"
mAkEs sEnSe yOu kNoW
Hypothesis, not theory, hypothesis.
24:22
Me: The lich said it wouldn't work, bit he was WRONG
if the bullet never defeated cannon then how does he have the true blashemy
In terms of Cannon and the litch I think Cannon was actually an invading force on the Gungeon at one point, but was stopped by the Bullet and the litch was able to rule unstopped once again (also I feel like the unlockable characters such as the robot and the litch feel like we're more reliving their pasts intsead of rewriting them)
20:44 *Pause*
Godly Bullet kin: “Omiyowa mu shinderiu”
Person witnessing *CREATION*: “Nani!!!???
I kinda wish they included doodles of the other cut Gungeoneers like the Cosmonaut on the Makarov and something similar for the others considering it pretty likely that we aren't going learn anything about them or get them as characters unless they decide to do a DLC.
I think the bullet train doodle is actually supposed to be a lead maiden with wheels attached. The hatch the bullet kin appears from reminds me of the doors of the lead maiden and the wheels being attached would fit with the duct tape description. I only wish they made this something that could happen in the game
where is the batkin? ya know caseykin actually that would be the most terrifying enemy in the gungeon
Goddammit I *NEED* THIS! It'll go perfectly with my destiny grimore anthology! Also the last thing i wanna see is gorgun x ammocannda
[Edit] Getting the ps4 bundle gives you a exclusive shotgun kin skin, this is literary just shell in the game files.
Monetize your videos, they are too good to be not monetized and we all know you take out a lot of time out of your day to make us happy and we want that you can actualy profit from this, but if you can't monetize it because of youtube itself then keep up the great work and I hope you take care of yourself :D
The alien sidearm kin is a Halo reference to those super weak enemies that wield the alien sidearm
16:34 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But where is Mickel Angelo.
ROBOTIC EGGS YES
20:21 considering it’s on the page of the alien sidearm I’m pretty sure that’s a reference to the grunts from halo and their giant hunch backs with small foreword facing heads. It also appears to be holding a very crude version of the plasma pistol
Oh my god robotic eggs
20:24 dead space reference very obvious one too , and well the minecutter is a reference of dead space too being the iconic weapon issac uses first
That doodle of the gunsling king and Manservantes gives off some serious Don Quixote vibes.
16:17 that in exit the dungeon Farwell to arms the kings sidekick is the king and I enter the gungeon he says he hates the king so that means he killed the king so that drawing is lore so that means some of the weird drawings are future lore
¨angry bullets has a dead meme¨
best. part. of the video.
on the subject of the bullet's past, i think that he was trying to bring a gun to his past, to fight cannon with it, as after killing cannon with blasphemy his blood corrupted him, which made it so that he couldn't drop the weapon, thus making him the worst kind of heretic in the eyes of his kin. in the past he realized that any guns he had with him vanished, but he couldn't let cannon defile his home, nor let his master down, so he did his duty and again condemned himself as a heretic
also, why is the sword not called "blastphemy"?
24:28 - A bullet kin gazes at a pinhead with heart shaped eyes beside the flak bullet...Go figure
Someone's probably already said it, but the bullet kin at 20:17 is meant to look like a grunt enemy from Halo. He is holding a plasma pistol from the same game.
16:20 it’s a manservant I think as in man-servant and I think gunsling king has been revived I might make a video of my idea of how you play Gungeon and how time works
14:38 That crown does look diffrent from the Bullet King's. So maybe it's a different (previous?) monarch of the keep of the lead lord.
my theory about cannon vs lich is that lich was the gungeon master, but then agunim came telling that everyone that accepted cannon would have prosperity. Then, cannon was taking over the gungeon, lich tried to defeat him, but failed, so cannon banished him to bullet hell. Later on, the bullet gets blasphemy, and defeats cannon (that's why he still has blasphemy in it's strongest form, wich he gets by killing cannon) and brings peace to the gungeon, and lich is still considered the gungeon master
still, there's things that i think are confusing, first: why would the bullet want to kill his past, while he doesn't even need to? and if my theory is correct, why would the enemies try to kill the bullet? because he wants the gun that can kill the past?
and second: if cannon was killed, then why didn't lich come back? or lich doesn't know that cannon has died, my theory is incorrect (most likely) or another thing banished him to bullet hell (likely kaliber)
You know i really apreciate this i wanted one but i was to late and the ps4 bundle is well to pricey for me nice video and thank you man
The mine cutter and that weird bullet kin with the mask doodle with it is a reference to dead space
21:14 I think this is a tmnt reference too bc it only spawns in rat's room as far as I know/remember..
15:09 the train is about to run over the cultist!
19:20 is most likley a refrence to "Det sjunde inseglet"(the seventh seal), a clasic swedish movie. The character portaryed is death
Also, the misfired beasts, are they references to displacer beasts, what with their panther appearance, the tendrils, and the illusions? I want a misfire kitten plush now,.
Yeah, Misfire Beasts are references to Displacer Beasts from D&D.
14:16 it's definitely the bullet with a crown, as if he was king Arthur.
The resourceful rat is master splinter and mutant bullet kin are tennage mutant ninja turtles . This is a reference to the show with the same name . Even the weapons the got are the same
20:44 that looks familiar *cough* Kenshiro *cough*
