- Well this was stressful to make, but also really exciting. I don't work the best under pressure, but I still pushed myself to get this video out today.
In it, I go over the trailer for the strange Enter the Gungeon spinoff 'Exit the Gungeon', coming Soon™ to Apple Arcade.

I didn't see this before the video was already nice and finished, but it's a long list of clarifications and clean-ups from Dodge Roll games about the nature of Exit the Gungeon.

i assume the kalibur stuff means that when the last of the Jammed seals the Breech at the end of the game, the final Bullet To Kill The Past fired will be the gungeon itself, being sent back into the past to become the Great Bullet that first came out of the sky to create the gungeon in the first place, maybe with some extra ending with destroying the gungeon with its paradox before it fires and preventing the cycle from perpetuating

I have a theory on the pacifist! The only one that comes to mind would have to be the bullet as in the one that refuses to fight the others when they descend... this would also make a bit more sense since in its own way it proceeded to kill one of the big creations of the gundead in its bullet to the past... Sure you do fight your way down afterwards which could make it different, but thats just mainly my take so far >3>

I think the paradox is more that just regular gun that can kill the past usage. It's a specific one. The gunslinger used the gun to kill his own past, preventing the gungeon from properly forming... and yet it still remains to play again afterwards. Its falling apart because it shouldn't exist in its current state anymore.
So essentially this is what would happen if the gunslinger actually could shoot himself
My theory is that when you kill the past you remain in the gungeon, because your soul is already lost. And I think that something takes your place in the outside, because you killed and fixed your past, so recreating.
The real problem is the gunslinger "past" because he prevents the existence of the gungeon. So the gungeon becomes a paradox

@@michelecannizzaro8967 So basically all gungeoneers except gunslinger and robot are paradox echos and the only reason exit the gungeon happens is that the gunslinger's past affected the gungeon itself?
I think the Gungeon becoming a paradox is moreso a direct result of the Gunslinger killing the past rather than just general overuse of the Gun.
Is that a "picture" of the Cosmonaut, or is it the Cosmonaut frozen in carbonite?

@@ReptileFeline_KroKot That could be fun, as a "tower defense" style game maybe? The gungeon restart from the beginning, and you're the original gunslinger, you have to set up the chambers, research new gundeads and unlock bosses to defend the gungeon against the gungeoneers.

I initially was against the idea, but now that I've watched the video and had time to mull it over, I accept this new lore.
I think this is a great new step for Gungeon, and I think it sets up nicely if dodgeroll ever does eventually do a gungeon sequel.
"Gungeon: reloaded"
Word of Gungeon having renewed itself soon reaches the ears of our heros as they're off on their own stories, realizing when the slinger killed himself and the lich was struck from existence, it was merely a soft reset of the Gungeon. They must now come back, along with new friends, and enter the Gungeon once more.
But this time to end the cycle for sure.
To take the fight to kaliber herself.

As I watch this, I can't help but think of the bullet statue seen in the breach that has the four items needed to create the Bullet That Kills the Past.
What if THAT is the final boss? What if, during this chaotic paradoxical mishmash, it becomes reborn? What if it was the original wielder of the Gun That Can Kill The Past? What if he is the "last of the jammed" that the book of kaliber is referring to?
Idk, purely peculation, but I think a final fight against what could be called "The First BulletKin" would be super cool!
Am I the only thinking the cobra could be Kaliber herself?
That would explain why the ammoconda was such a dang annoying boss

The “ammocobra” looks a lot like the resourceful rats mech in his second phase. Maybe the rat will have a larger focus in this game?

I still love how Enter The Gungeon has a story! Now the Gungeoneers are escaping after killing their pasts!
Enter the Gungeon was a game like no other for me, presenting both engaging gameplay and infinite replay-ability. It made me fall in love with rogue likes, bullet hells, and top-down shooters all at once.
I'm really excited and *really* nervous for this new game.
This reminds me Hollow Knight : Silksong where you ascend instead of descend (like in the original Hollow Knight)

i thought that the lyrics to the enter the gungeon theme were "heeeeeeeeeey, tell your god" and not "EEEEEEEEEEEEEnter the gun"...
I believe that when I misheard the lyrics, they were a lot more menacing since it was like a message to give up hope since this game will crush your soul.

That "new face" in the hub is seemingly a hat guy, as in he is literally a hat. Makes sense given the trailer description saying that there's hats in the game now.
So, is this after Gunslinger killing his past? GS killing Lich and seemingly dispelling the Great Bullet would be a very huge time paradox, so maybe the Gungeon doesn’t know if the Bullet struck or not and it’s simply going to withering away?

I’d assume “the last of the jammed” is just a cool way of saying “whatever jammed beings are left,” and as for the pacifist... well, none of the play characters fight in their pasts until they take up arms in their quest in the Gungeon.

Team Gungeon 2? Oh, I think Devalver should make a "Meet The Gungeoneers" series. Here we have: Scout Pilot, Huntress Sniper, Marine Demoman, Criminal Soldier, Robot Engineer, Bullet Heavy and Cultist Pyro.

This game makes a lot more sense if you've played downwell.
The paradox of killing the past is that the future is never changed as it never came to be. So in they will be re-loaded once again.

Hot theory: the Bullet who laid down his arms was the one who wielded the Bullet that can kill the past, and by discarding it created the Gungeon. The finale of Exit the Gungeon will have you fight and kill him, referencing the line “when the gun is drawn to the heart of the Pacifist”
The rocket from the Stinger bouncing off of the Behalrog might indicate Angry Bullets
yeah, gunsliger is probably not going to be playable, since, you know, he rewrote his past and prevented the bullet from striking the gungeon, negating the possibility of making the gungeon unstable
Wonder if the Resource Rat actually gets to be played with his own story, and if playing as him he's replaced by something else that we wouldn't know? Then again who knows how he'll have to take your items in a side scroller. Either way, this looks exciting!

To be quite honest. I give them a lot of balls and kudos for choosing such odd markets to put their time into for game development. I mean who in the hell has the money to just drop down a good 2 grand for a arcade cabinet and I can't imagine much iPhone players having the aptitude to play a gundeon game on their device.

I'm gonna call it, the Cosmonaut is gonna be a playable character this time, maybe the Ninja and Lamey too but the Cosmonaut is gonna happen. Also the Gunslinger and The Paradox are probably also playable but they are probably secrets like The Bullet and The Robot were in EtG.

When you notice that the Cultist’s ending
SPOILERS
After escaping the Gungeon, the Cultist flops to the ground, his parachute opens after he hits the ground. He runs right to the ship the other Gungeoneers are using to escape, apart from the Bullet, who stayed behind in the Gungeon to watch it collapse. As he approaches the ship, somebody (unknown) shouts ‘Close the Door!’ In which the pilot of the ship (no prizes for guessing who) closes the door, maybe unwilling to leave the child behind. They then fly off, leaving the Cultist (probably) in insane amounts of stress. The Cultist has no (seen) options, as he could survive somehow. The ship then flies around the collapsing Gungeon, flies towards the screen and shows the credits.

I can not wait for this, sadly though, its going to be on the worthless phones (apple phones), but if it does go elsewhere, im sure to play it there, im having a lot of fun currently playing etg, so i cant wait to see how they bring the story over

Alright i'm going to take a shot at your three questions (pun intended)
1.The gungeon reloaded most likely means a cycle renewed which suggest that the gungeon has been around for forever which makes scenes considering the banners in the hunters past.
2.The pacifist maybe one of the first gungeoners like the gunsliger/lich since i don't they came with the great bullet i'm thinking the gungeoner who laid down his arms like in the shrine commonly seen in the gungeon.
3.The last of the jammed perhaps the hardest one i believe this is in reference to either the lich or a character we haven't seen I like the lich explanation because he is closely related to the jammed with such beings like Kaliber

One personal theory I have for exit the gungeon. The true final boss will be Kaliber. And not just a avatar or something like the final kill pillar statue. But the true gun goddess. We faced the gun devil the lich in enter the gungeon and descended in to bullet hell. Know we ascend to I don’t know shotgun heaven for a punny name. And have to face the Gun god(dess). I heard theory’s that Kalbar even shot the great bullet because the gunslinger beat the gungeon originally.
Im praying for the cosmonaut.
