That aisha theory isn’t far fetched at all. I was playing saints row the other day & the mission where you drive tanya’s limo she says “warren called me aisha again. You believe that?” I swear she was sleeping with him
I always thought that Julius planting the bomb was so out of character for him. He deserved better. It should've been someone like Dex, who turned out to be a sellout in the next game.
It's hardly out of character when you consider Troy wanted to bust him, and Julius, being human, probably - in the heat of the moment, gave in and figured a way out for himself. The idea is that Julius felt toward the end that the saints were becoming like the vice kings and didn't want to have continue down that road and cut off all ties with the best deal possible for himself. Dex up and left like a smart man, but Julius figured the only way to truly get out was to kill the player and Gat. Gat didn't die, though, instead got arrested, and the player was too ruthless to just arrest, as Julius predicted, so he opted to put him down like 'ol yeller. I imagine Julius felt fleeting pains of guilt years after the event, but that it was for the best... but oh how wrong he was.
Yeah but I think it works because you see him and you think that he’s better then most of them but it showed that he was still a criminal just like the rest of them
Julius did plant the bombs and if you play Saints row 2 go to the police station and go to the detectives area and there are audio recordings of Julius and Troy about the bomb and it unlocks a secret mission to kill Julius
I'm actually glad they decided to go with the rewrite of SR2. Julius' justification for planting the bomb actually makes sense. He realized that the Saints had become the very thing they swore to destroy, so he decided to abruptly end them.
Except, destroying the Saints would only cause (and is what happened in SR2) other gangs to come, take the city and fight over control, causing gang wars once again
Right. It actually makes the story a lot better and his story more tragic. Despite his end, he's the only member in the gang that deserved to live and his motives and actions were completely justified.

According to both Saints Row IV it was Julius Little because what you discover in one of Julius' audio logs in Saints Row IV is that he wouldn't let a psychopath run things so he did what he had to do and never thought the boss would survive the explosion.
I'd love to see an big video someday with an interview / in-depth look at Jareo's Saints Row 2 and 3. Mabye an thing where he explains the whole idea with concept art and early renders, and some drafts if possible. I can see it lasting atleast 40 minutes with him explaining how the game would work and the setting.
The way I see it, Troy was minding his own business at the time, contemplating whether or not he did the right thing. The others probably knew about Hughes' corruption and planned the boat explosion. Julius couldn't see the meeting from his vantage point and probably didn't know the playa was on the boat. He just knew that Hughes had to go because of his plans to tear down the Row as well as revenge for many reasons. The Playa was invited last minute to the boat so he was pretty much stuck at the wrong place at the wrong time.
I've thought about this before and I thought it may have been Dex originally. Although there is no real hints that he planted the bomb, there is some foreshadowing from NPCs that say that they expect that Dex will one day betray Julius so he could become leader of the Saints. By the time of the explosion, Julius was thought to have been in custody making the Playa the new head of the Saints. Dex could've seen this as an opportunity to take over the Saints by killing the Boss, and as a tactician, taking out Hughes could have removed some corrupt governmental problems for the Saints. This is obviously untrue now as Saints Row 2 revealed that Dex had planned to leave the Saints way before the yacht incident.
Continue with these theories, it’s fun to see from another perspective, for example how did Dane Vogel get so much power? Was it Dex who helped him. There is so much untold story..
4:50 perhaps it was originally supposed to be shown as aisha having some sort of affair with williams so she blew the player up to cover up his knowledge because when you do the mission where you're tonya's limo driver she says "warren called me aisha again can you believe that"
How cool would it have been, if SR1 had been released with the ORIGINALLY pitched ending (that we should have gotten) and then a SR2 proper that would have accommodated that ending instead of the SR2 which accommodated the ending we originally received. Honestly, I was really attached to Julius in SR1. Not just because I'm a Keith David fan, but the character was really well written and associable. When the bomb blew in my first play through my thought was, "Did Julius just betray me?!". I was hoping it wasn't true, partially because it was a little out of left field and unexpected. I found out about the circumstantial debacle a long time ago, but I always love knowing that it was never in the original plan for Julius to betray the Playa. Now, what if we would've gotten a re-release of SR1 with the authentic ending, and then the appropriate SR2 soon after . . . . Oh, Volition. What you threw away in the name of whatever wild hair demanded you make the reboot into . . . whatever from hell you made.
I think Dex makes the most sense, to me. The player had just taken over as Julius's #2, providing motive, and it helps make Dex trying to kill them both in SR2 a little more consistent.
A shame they never went through with a prequel series. Also would've liked to have been introduced to Alejandro Lopez, the founder of Los Carnales and see the difference in leadership skills between him & his sons
I like to think that julis told everyone in that cut scene that he was going to kill the playa as it was revealed that julis only killed the playa as he was getting out of hand and putting others lives at risk. However he didn't tell Johnny as he would...well....do a Gat.
Donnie is probably the planter of the bomb. In Saints Row 2, he does plant bombs on the Brotherhood's vehicles, so we know he's capable. He also had a liking for Lin and most likely holds a grudge on the player for letting her die. Also, a big giveaway is when Donnie says to the player "You were supposed to be dead!" He might not be talking about the car sinking, because who else would kill Joseph? He could be talking about the yacht bombing.
Hey man just wanna say I’ve been watching for about 2 weeks now and I’ll have you on the background while playing sr2 and fuck man I’ve learned so many things about my favorite game! I used to come home from school deal with wack ass bullies but once I got home oh boy…sr2 all day and back to school :) just wanna say thanks for making these awesome videos and amazing stuff!
I remember fl1ppy mentioned that volition stream in an old video and since then I’ve always wondered what they originally had planned I didn’t think we’d ever get an answer
Wow so if things would’ve been a little different back in 2006-2007 inside Volition, Saints Row 2, 3, and 4 would’ve been much different and 3 and 4 would’ve been more down to earth just like the 1st game. Unbelievable.
I liek to think that Aisha and Julius planned it together. Julius got out of jail and went to Aisha, asking her about sourcing a bomb, Aisha seeing it as an opportunity to destroy the saints and hopefully remove Johnny from the gangster lifestyle goes along with it and sources an explosive for Julius. Julius being a man with a strict moral code (and maybe even possibly because she reminds him of Ben King's sister) didn't reveal her involvement. I think Aisha then just played nice in SR2 to avoid a violent reaction from the playa, which could of also perhaps sparked a saints civil war. That's my headcanon anyway
I just finished this game like half an hour ago and my god that ending legit made me think who planted that bomb and blew me the f*ck up! I guess it's a good reward for beating this game for the first time ( Yeah i know the game is old... But i never finished it at as a kid... ) Anyways!
A Saints Row back in the 70's can be a prequel to the original Saints Row. From how the Saints started, how Ben King & Julius got to know each other, Ben King sister who had a relationship with Julius (maybe even a kid came out of that relationship and that kid became a parent who is the father/ mother of the Playa), Ben King gaining and losing power in Stillwater , Julius in hiding because he wanted to get out of the gang life and so on and so on
I also don’t think it was Manuel because everyone was well aware that the Playa was the new head of the gang. I was playing last night and a few members and pedestrians commented, knowing who the new head of the gang was. In fact everyone from the gang that commented preferred the playa. One Saint stated, “Fuck Julius we got you in charge.”
Man, they really messed this game up when you know what was supposed to be vs what is. They could always go back if they wanted tho. The whole coma angle. Like everything since 2 was a dream.
I know I'm two years late but I think Donnie could be likely. Remember in saints row 2 how he used bombs to destroy the brotherhoods trucks. It's like they were teasing their previous story.
thats how things works sometimes people are very lazy and nine times out of ten if you want something done right you have to do it yourself atleast this could still be Incorporated into a movie
It was Julius planted the bomb because he useing player to take over Stillwater so when player done Julius want to jail when he got out he want to the yacht and planted the bomb in the yacht
I've been saying it a lot around certain circles, but I think it would be a baller move if a remake of Saints Row (either a ground-up remaster or a SR3-engine remake) actually restored Julius's original ending with the implication that the game is actually a reboot timeline now, leaving the possibility for all-new game stories in the era of SR2 and after, of a sort. (more spoilerific ideas below the "more" bit) The reboot specially a branch-out from the "cop" ending of Gat out of Hell. What if after the reboot he remembers everything before, but his more youthful experiences and semi-impartial take on that past history makes him feel like the Saints getting so big as to cause the destruction of Earth is a bad thing, so it turns out in this timeline he was the undercover cop in the Row instead of Troy, sabotaging the Saints after the Rollerz, Carnalas & Kings are smoked so that they never come to the same power that led them to the events of the Third and later. It's a betrayal rooted in keeping Aisha and everything he knows safe, but not a straightforward one. Like Troy, he still has the brotherhood of the Row, so he doesn't want to outright kill his friends, but he wants to stop them from being the same force that got them from Steelport to the White House. An alternate take on his dissatisfaction with celebrity in The Third; he wants to keep the Saints grounded & out of the attention of the Syndicate/Zynak/Satan like before.
It could very easily be the Rollerz's buyers, aka the Ronin. The Ronin have the motive to kill the playa, through the fact that they wiped out their suppliers, the Rollers, and they also have the means, due to being a well funded organised crime group. Doesn't seem too far fetched to me.
Would make sense since the Player actually jumps off the boat but still gets caught in it. Headcanon: The boss forgets parts of what happened because of it, which is why they believe Julius did it after hearing the logs from the Police Station.
AND that would also explain how he said "Yo can we hurry this shit up, I want to get some freckle bitches!" Maybe he forgot exactly what time he had left for the bomb, and just got caught in his mistake. Or even before the bomb, him and EVERYONE in that cut scene could've had a sit down talk about how they are going to wait for the player to plant the bomb, and get the hell out of there, hence why everyone is nervous, everyone looks anxious, some looking at their watches, The King even getting off his flight just to wait for the player, which would leave troy, wondering if he should bust everyone involved in that very moment, looking at his badge, deciding on whether to just arrest EVERYONE on that spot, or wait until the player got back to the shore to get him too. But then the bomb goes off, everything ends, some people leave, some people (like dex) just couldn't take the death of the player, so they dropped their involvement and decided to go gang free.
That aisha theory isn’t far fetched at all. I was playing saints row the other day & the mission where you drive tanya’s limo she says “warren called me aisha again. You believe that?” I swear she was sleeping with him

Still, now I've just got all the questions about where we would've been in the story today if they went with what they planned 😆
Prequel-game about the origins of Vice Kings and Saints in the 70s would be really cool (and it even possible for them to actually do it someday)
carlos's brother did it

damn the original saintsrow 2 and the third sounded so awesome now i'm definitely disappointed they didn't animate julius properly
Perhaps this is how they could reboot saints row by showing sr1s ending and going with the original plan
Oh hey its j
To be really honest that's pretty much a good start seeing how Saints Row just got more f*****
NO WAY!! I was JUST re-playing Saints Row 1!! Thank you so much for Saints Row 1 content!!! It's my absolute favorite in the series :D
That's kind of interesting if Saints Road would have took that path Saints Row 2 would have been a different game
@@AISlopTheatre I heard it's a Mario Kart-like version of Saints Row.
In the alternate ending it was going to be 100% Troy
Is almost 1 am where I live and I have virtual classes, but I dont care if is for a video of this guy, Good video as always btw
Nice. I always have that question in my head but now because of this video, it's been answered.
4:50 perhaps it was originally supposed to be shown as aisha having some sort of affair with williams so she blew the player up to cover up his knowledge because when you do the mission where you're tonya's limo driver she says "warren called me aisha again can you believe that"
Um tanya blew his brains out so it couldn't be
@@ethanblair7351 good point however that does not compensate for how the player was informed by tanya before she killed warren
You can use those baggy jeans as a parachute
Can u play sr1 or sr2 plz play with me
I think Dex could have done it. We did want to kill him later on, since he became a head of Ultor
Personally I see Dex doing it, he was willing to do anything and was smarter than the majority of the crew
A shame they never went through with a prequel series. Also would've liked to have been introduced to Alejandro Lopez, the founder of Los Carnales and see the difference in leadership skills between him & his sons
But the real question how did the boss survive from that yacht explosive.
DrakeRainbow is a Bad Editor “don’t think too hard about it”
He jumped off it was explained in sr2 and then Troy kept him alive and breathing in the prison
Keep up your grind man love the videos
Julius sees the yacht and walks away staring at his watch.
that gta contact mission music is so relaxing
Hey man just wanna say I’ve been watching for about 2 weeks now and I’ll have you on the background while playing sr2 and fuck man I’ve learned so many things about my favorite game! I used to come home from school deal with wack ass bullies but once I got home oh boy…sr2 all day and back to school :) just wanna say thanks for making these awesome videos and amazing stuff!
Me hearing gta v’s music in the background
“wait Thats illegal”
I'm suprised the Demonitizatio bot didn't hit yet
"I said talk! Not set off a goddamn bomb!"
So many MC cancelled profiles that like SD
Love this channel and your terminator voice
Me too
I'm so pissed that they didn't stuck with the original plan :(
it would of been amazeing
If they don't go with a reboot, new Saints Row 5 might actually take place in the 70s with Julius and Ben, no?
Remaster the whole franchise with the original plot. That'd be interesting.
Shit! it would've been awesome to play a Saints Row in the 70s!
Yacht explodes and you end up in a coma.
1970’s saints row 2 is the game we’ve needed since the actual saints row 2
It warms my heart to know my favorite game of the franchise is what it is because of LAZINESS
I love game beta concepts. This was really interesting.
Bro it’s wild how different the franchise could have been
I have wanted a 70's saints so bad
but, hey, that’s just a theory. A Saints Theory! thanks for watching.
From how the Saints started, how Ben King & Julius got to know each other, Ben King sister who had a relationship with Julius (maybe even a kid came out of that relationship and that kid became a parent who is the father/ mother of the Playa), Ben King gaining and losing power in Stillwater , Julius in hiding because he wanted to get out of the gang life and so on and so on
What if they couldn’t do the third Japan because the Yakuza series was going to happen?
Nah I’m just kidding. Unless in an alternate universe.
Yakuza predates saints by a year tho
I also don’t think it was Manuel because everyone was well aware that the Playa was the new head of the gang. I was playing last night and a few members and pedestrians commented, knowing who the new head of the gang was. In fact everyone from the gang that commented preferred the playa. One Saint stated, “Fuck Julius we got you in charge.”
I was shocked by this ending lol
Man, they really messed this game up when you know what was supposed to be vs what is. They could always go back if they wanted tho. The whole coma angle. Like everything since 2 was a dream.
Going to Japan would've made sense for sr3's wackyness lol
i remember watching that dev interview like 3 times but yet at least saintsgodzilla reminded me of it
We Deserved a Saints Row Prequel about the Vice King's Origin Story.
They change it, so that The Boss is basically Ben King in his Prime.
but what we all know for surw is....that bomb really changed the bosses hair in saints row 2
I know I'm two years late but I think Donnie could be likely. Remember in saints row 2 how he used bombs to destroy the brotherhoods trucks. It's like they were teasing their previous story.
id be so mad and upset if i had this plan for the direction i wanted to take my franchise and someone just gets lazy and messes it all up....
thats how things works sometimes people are very lazy and nine times out of ten if you want something done right you have to do it yourself atleast this could still be Incorporated into a movie
It was Julius planted the bomb because he useing player to take over Stillwater so when player done Julius want to jail when he got out he want to the yacht and planted the bomb in the yacht
When he walk away when the bomb was but explode
When player found out that Julius was using player to take over Stillwater that why player kill julius
(more spoilerific ideas below the "more" bit)
The reboot specially a branch-out from the "cop" ending of Gat out of Hell.
Saints row 1 deserves a remake to fix issues with the story towards the end as the ending looked a bit rushed
It could very easily be the Rollerz's buyers, aka the Ronin. The Ronin have the motive to kill the playa, through the fact that they wiped out their suppliers, the Rollers, and they also have the means, due to being a well funded organised crime group. Doesn't seem too far fetched to me.
Dude i totally would love saints row original writer time line
1:39 no watch😂 he looking at nothing.
Loves these sorts of videos
Early answer the player planted the bomb himself
Holy shit if Saints Row 2 ended like that that would be badass as fuck
@5:21 I really wanted a Saints Row flash back to Benjamin King and Julius' story, so seeing it was a possibility that never happened sucks.
