- In this video Capt. C.A. is going to teach you a knot that he uses when throwing topwater baits. This knot prevents topwater lures from faulting when you're skipping them into the mangroves! If you like what you're seeing here at Flats Class TH-cam, make sure you leave a like and subscribe!

Great advice! We skip for Black Bass and this will definitely help.
This makes sense. Thank you for explaining it.
That was a great episode of Flats Class with Capt Codty. I'm in Ft Myers and looking forward to checking out those spots on the river. Great advice on the knot too! Thanks!
Love the new intro brother. I also tie an improved clinch knot with a 40lb leader on all lures with front trebles. Keeps the leader stiff, straight and away from the hook.
Thanks for the info! I love the idea of less fouling!
This is a great idea! Thank you, Capt!
Awesome tip! I utilize this tip in windy conditions on the open flats. FLATS SNACK RULES!
Good tip C.A. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video. Thank you!
Bravo, I use a 5 turn improved clinch knot 90% of the time unless I’m walking a spook or something similar 🍀🎣🍀😎
Great info!
Great tip. Thanks
So true on the foul, it’s a total pain. I will try your suggestion real soon.
Thank you for the info.
Interesting idea. 3 out of 10 cast the line always snag the front treble hooks. I’m going to try this knot.
Awesome tip!!! Thank you I plan to try this this weekend…
Enjoy the holiday my friend
Stay safe and keep em tight Capt.
Appreciate ya!
Excellent tip…
Gonna try that with top water fishing 🎣 for smallmouth up state NY 👍👍
Nice! Thanks Captain
Anytime…
Great, great detail. Your point makes a huge difference even to me, a fly fisherman. Loops are not needed for light tippet since a light tippet is often limp enough to allow movement. Also, I have noticed the same issue with Loop knots allowing the material on certain flies to foul more often. Don't get me wrong, loops are often the best choice depending on the situation and stiffness of a tippet, but they shouldn't be automatic. These fine adjustments can make a huge difference. Thank you so much for sharing your vast knowledge.
That makes perfect sense! A problem I've delt with in my fresh water fishing many times not knowing there was a solution. Thank Capt.
Xcellent tip,,,,,very common problem solved
Very cool I Was thinking of using different types of leader to stop the loop from catching my hook, I really swear by yo Siri pink soft floor carbon. It actually gives me the best results even though I do have to untangle the hook from the loop a lot of times thanks CA always learn something from you.
Good stuff CA
Thanks for the good feedback
Did you get contacts. How do you like em
Too much waffle. Get to the point
😂😂😂
Twitch twitch pull the slack.... itch itch on my back. 😅😂
Take me fishing in Clearwater
ah. on the Buzbe store..
Do you have any videos already on topic of “ how long you fish a color before switching” does it depend on situation? Weather etc…
Yes
Sub’D up!
I love ya ...
But...
Put singles on them plugs
So much nicer on those fish
Just saying
Your awsome just don't understand why treble hooks are legal
They tear eyes out and are cluster mess
I apologize for my bias but say NO to treble
How many times have you hooked a fish on the front hook. Very seldom for me. Why not just remove it.
Over 7 minutes of waffle that could have taken 1 minute and never shows you how to tie the knot, waste of time
you dont know how to tie an improved clinch knot look it up
Memorial day isn't a happy weekend. Just sayin.
