    Been using the canoe for years. No failures to speak of , easy to tie and works as intended . My favorite loop knot for light tackle.

    I had to put it on full screen to see that one but it looks pretty simple. Will be practicing that one for sure. Thanks C.A

    C.A. I like the tutorial very explanatory; I have never used it before. Can't wait to try it. What's the difference between the loop knot and just using a swivel? They do the same job right?

    Been using it for years. Easy way to tie a bowline knot. Like the way the tag end faces the lure, will keep grass from hanging on it.

    I've been using the canoe man knot for many years. I don't remember it ever failing me and was great for fishing mosquito lagoon with all the floating grass. Guess I should say, used to have a lot of floating grass. I form my two backword loops after I have already passed the leader throught the eye of the lure or hook.

    Been using it for decades and it works great. The only thing I do different is I tighten it pulling on the mainline to size the loop and then the tag end to cinch it down.... or do I have that backwards? I don't have any tackle in front of me to verify. LOL

    Captain CA, could you do a rigging video for the kicker crabz lure? If you haven't already.
    Thanks

    good stuff quick question, does the tag end go through the second loop over the top or from underneath or doesn't matter

    Damn I like that.! Don't like catching crap because of the 'tag end'. "Tight Lines and Full Limits To Ya"

    Canoe Man Loop knot. Some moron says don't use this knot on Fluorocarbon because it loses about 20% of the line strength, but as far as I know any knot results in a loss of line strength.

    What size inlines are you running on the 17 MR?

  • @ciesl279
    @ciesl279 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do you control the size of the loop?

    • @flatsclasscharters
      @flatsclasscharters ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Carefully size by pulling on tag and main line slowly then hold once desired size is attained… then tighten knot

  • @comfortablynumb9342
    @comfortablynumb9342 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why use that knot instead of the one I've been using for decades and has never failed? I tie the simple one with a loop then through the line tie then around several times and then through the loop and tighten it up. It might not be good for very light line but it's fine for leaders.

      If you already do a loop knot, and your muscle memory is programmed for that knot then I don’t see any reason to switch so long as the knot holds for you.
      From what I gather, these sorts of knot videos are more for people who aren’t doing any loop knots at all and this is a tutorial so they can try it if they want. Capt CA has at least one other video with a different loop knot on his channel too so there’s variety for anyone who wants to experiment with what’s best for themselves

    Good explanation... but we can't see shidizzle.
    Try it again with a black shirt and a different camera angle please, all we can see are your giant tan hands.
    Thanks
