@thejourniganadventures7391 you'll get a voltage drop every time you use the starter. Anyt time high amperage is requested. Why you had 12.5 volts. But, Ram monitors the average draw and when it sees its not there, why you get a click. It doesn't try like other makes.
@@gol10dr45 good to know! I am by no means a mechanic so I test things to the best of my abilities to ensure I am replacing the correct battery/part. I could have bit the bullet and replaced both at the same time, made life simple, but who takes the easy route lol I am truly curious to see how long my stock battery will last. Since one has already bit the dust, I am under the impression the other may not be far behind. We shall see. I appreciate the information! I will be using this on my next battery troubleshoot.
got the same issue this morning. both batteries are showing 11.45. ill take both in and have them tested. i figure i will be replacing both. also my 21 is due for a delete, any tips? what kit did you go with? thanks.
People commented that it is best practice to just go ahead and do both. I did the one and so far, going well! Man, I bought my 5” system from a website that does not appear to be around anymore. However, thedieseldudes is where I bought the tuner from and they are going strong. They have everything you need to put your truck on the Jenny Craig diet!
I had same issue and it was one dead battery second one at 70% put some interstate batteries I didn’t cheap out 550$ for 2 batteries right now it’s -35 where I live started right up
I definitely want some interstate batteries. At the moment I kept it simple. Not really cheap it would have been $430 for 2 of them. I am curious to see how long the other stock one lasts. I was kind of in a rush to get my truck back running too. Didn’t even think to look up interstate.
Yeah they were the original batteries. I was going to get both but when I saw one was still operating just fine, I figured I would wait and save the $200 bucks. Let it ride until it completely craps out too. See how long that one lasts! My old 2018 RAM I had 15k more miles on it and didn’t have to replace a battery in that truck.
My 2022 has the same issue. Thanks for the video 🍻
@@MikeMalkowski hope it helped you brother!
Always change diesel batteries in pairs. Otherwise the older one will fail prematurely
Good to know! I know that the time will come and I will need to replace that one too. Thank you for the insight.
Nice job man! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thank you! You guys have a beautiful country! Greetings from Texas!
It's an amperage thing on CANBUS. Not voltage you need to look at.
If this is the case then why was I getting a voltage drop reading from the bad battery?

Can I start the engine with only 1 battery if the truck is 2 batteries
@@Xaviparedes-ub6hf no the voltage sensors will sense the faulty battery and you need full cranking amps of both batteries.
