    sounds awesome, what would you recommend for a first superbike? im 17 and I've been riding dirt bikes since I was 5, I really like the R1 but I think it would be a lot to handle for me right now. maybe the r6?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Austin Evans I would always recommend starting smaller and working your way up. The Yamaha R3 would be an excellent choice for someone your age and with your skill level. After that, you could definitely switch to the r6 when you've built up your street sense. Dirt experience is a great skill to have when transitioning to the street, however, the street has far more obstacles and potential distractions that could cause issues for you. So when starting out, you definitely want to keep distractions to a minimum. With the r3, you can focus more on building your riding skill and less on how fast you are going.

    Where can I find the right tune for this arrow with cat eliminator for ft ECU ? I can't find it on arrow's website. Do you think that it works well with the oem tune ? And what about the AIS system and air damper ? Are they disabled on your machine ? What do you think is the best configuration ? Thank you for your help and for your great videos !

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have AIS removed and the whole bike is converted to race only trim. None of the pollution equipment is on the bike anymore. We also have a drop in BMC racing filter in the air box, fiberglass air duct with the ram air flapper valve eliminated, full exhaust made of titanium. Your question is somewhat subjective...I wouldn't be able to define a "best" setup for you unless I get to know you, how you ride, how and where you use your bike. For me in the superstock racing environment our setup is pretty close to what I consider best. I would recommend taking your bike to a local dyno facility that tunes FTECU after you get an exhaust and air filter on, telling them what you are looking for, and letting the do their magic.

      +Juul Tummers We have not had the chance to put it on a dyno yet. When we initially installed this exhaust on our race bike and did a simple fuel curve retune the bike woke up drastically. It also felt lighter going into and leaving corners. Unfortunately I cannot give you an exact HP and torque figure at the time. We will be doing a dyno test early next year and maybe we will shoot a video to show what we found. As far as the sound goes, the canister is rated at

    Excellent video. My R1 has an Akra 3/4. I notice no decel popping sounds. Mine sounds like a phucking popcorn machine. Is there anything I can do about it? It has been flash tuned (making the popping only worst). Thanks...

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Smog block-offs (On our website) may help the issue but it does sound like you may need a more specific tune for your bike. There are many things that could be causing the problem you are having so it is hard for us to help diagnose the problem. We do recommend you go to a shop to attain specifics on your bike and it's performance.

    • @AkaOjii
      @AkaOjii 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm Dutch. So pardon my English. The tuner says that he fixed it that when I close the throttle a little bit of fuel still gets pumped in the engine (?). This fuel combusts in the exhaust causing it to make the popping sounds. It's a deliberate set-up if I understood him correctly. Those this make any sense?

      +David S. Yes sir. It is really easy with that bike. It comes with an alternate hole on the shifter pedalon the opposite side of the pivot point. All you have to do is tap it to a M6x1 thread and screw your linkage into that hole. This was the first modification we made after taking delivery.

      +The Jman1000 Unfortunately the stock setup along with the catalytic converter and EXUP system does not allow the motor to produce the power necessary to be competitive in racing. We built this bike for as race series so we went with the longer Arrow canister and titanium plumbing. We will be launching a video showcasing the bike in its race trim soon. I hope you will come back and take a look.

  • @franktran2790
    @franktran2790 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    which one give the best power for this R1 ?! thanksss

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Frank Tran It depends on how you tune the motorcycle really after installing any of these exhausts. Typically the best performance gain will be a full exhaust+racing air filter+a proper dyno tune from a tuner that understands THIS particular bike. Performance does not necessarily mean bigger peak HP here. A bike properly tuned for one particular rider will be different than for another. In addition, a rider who understands his machine will want multiple tunes for different conditions. For example, I would want a smooth torque curve and maximum amount of HP peaking at about 11k RPM for Daytona International raceway, and for say Jennings GP I would be willing to sacrifice a bit of up top power to build a bit more torque in the midrange. With FT ECU the tuner has the ability to alter air/fuel ratio on each individual cylinder, alter ignition timing for each cylinder, alter YCC-T maps for a customized throttle response, alter the crossover point at which the variable intake stacks actuate. There is limitless control over this system and it will take a good tuner to be able to dial this in for you. If you are just looking to get maximum HP number without regard to the real reason for tuning then just slap on the full exhaust, install a racing air filter, pour in race gas, and have any'ol Joe Shmo dyno facility just do a simple tune to find the peak HP number.

    How is the db lvl?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no universal measurement method. You would have to specify what you are asking about and then someone would have to perform that measurement. You can take a look at the Arrow website. They show the dB reading as measured per the EU measurement spec. This spec considers RPM, load on vehicle, distance from exhaust outlet, angle of sensor to exhaust outlet, etc.

      @TSTindustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't remember. We used that can at tracks that had a stringent dB limit. Then we had a shorter can and an ecu map to go with it that made 6 more Hp at peak and about 4 Hp everywhere else. But that one was LOUD!

I like the racing high pitch screaming sound myself and not one exhaust on that dang r1 sounds like that Bc the engine. One of the best looking bikes but the worst sound in my opinion. Ultimately will end up being the reason I don’t buy an r1. R6 on the other hand is a totally different story. But I think I’ll stick to my gsxr 1000 for now

      +Pyxel Dust I dont ride on the street but still I do not use the loudest available exhaust. Loud exhausts make my ears ring and that lasts a day or two after a weekend of testing or racing. I feel a lot better with a quieter exhaust. The arrow setup is great because you have a choice of two different canister setups (115dB and 107.5dB), and you can install the dB killer on both to quiet them down on the fly.
