I love this pattern! I made a rectangular version for a rug. It turned out great. I used 4 1/2 skeins of yarn. I also used a 5.0 mm hook. Thank you for your designs they are wonderful.
You are so welcome! So glad you love it! Working on the rectangle now - I had a lot of requests for it! Thanks for watching and I so appreciate your support 💕
Just what I needed...a nice square pattern. 🤗 I crochet for animal shelters...comfort blankets...and they want the blankets to be square. The short color changes are perfect for not showing too much wear and tear...and the big plus is the yarn you used is anti-pilling 🥰. I am adding this to my pattern library. Can't wait to make my first one...I live in FLA and it's currently too hot to sit with yarn in my lap...cotton projects only in the Summer 🥵 Thank you for the great tutorial. 🤗
I really liked this and have been looking for the perfect pattern for making placemats for some Christmas gifts and this will work perfectly for my vision for the placemats.. Thanks so much for this tutorial.. love ❤️ this pattern a lot 🫶🏻🧶❤️🥰🤠
@@nanascraftyhome I just started making this pattern today and I really like how it’s turning out.. And it really is perfect for what I’m making.. Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial.. Happy Crocheting 🧶🫶🏻🥰🤠
Love the pattern and your tutorial. Bought the perfect yarn and got started. Like others I am getting some cupping and worse the granny square skew. As far as the cupping I am making sure that I am making the dc tall so they dont pull and that doesn't seem to help. If anyone has made this blanket and has some advice I would appreciate it. I really want to continue but if I cannot fix these issues I will have to frog.
I am sorry you are having issues with cupping on the blanket! I wonder if you could try going up to a larger size hook and see if that looser tension helps. Let me know!
Happy to help! For a finished size of 30" x 30" I used a total of 20 oz / 930 yards. You can find all the details on the blog post here: nanascraftyhome.com/crochet-square-blanket/ I hope that helps and I hope you enjoy making it! 💕🌸
I crochet blankets for my local Linus project group and am always looking for non-lacy blanket patterns to try. This looks perfect, can you tell me if this pattern is considered quick/fast work and if it is considered a yarn hog (uses a lot of yarn for length of work)? I look forward to the rectangle pattern once you post it. 😊🧶
So glad you like it! I would say this pattern is going to grow a little slower than a typical double crochet blanket because you are skipping stitches and then coming back to work the next round into those stitches which will only grow the round by the height of a sc. I wouldn't classify this stitch a real yarn hog like a puff or popcorn stitch blanket but would use a bit more yarn than a double crochet blanket. I hope that helps!
I am working on this lovely pattern now and my corners are bowing in. I feel like all my other projects have 2 clusters in the corners. (For instance 3 dbl, chain 2, 3 dbl). Will this work itself out?
How far along are you in the pattern? I feel like this should resolve after awhile. Yes, it is correct that typically you would see more stitches in a corner. However, since the second round isn't growing as you would typically have with rounds of double crochet - the second round is only growing by the height of a single crochet stitch, by having the 3 stitches of sc in that round should help that as it grows. I hope that helps!
In the setting which is usually in the upper right hand corner, you can slow the video down which is a big help. Also have the transcript showing which you can find under "more". I'm a beginner and do this all the time. 😊
I love blankets from the middle. Thanks for this one!

@@MsSaka100 Do you know of "Comfort for Critters" or "Critters Comfort"? (can't remember which name it is 🤔)

Beautiful blanket, but I'd want a rectangular blanket in queen bed size. Can it be done without adversely affecting the stitch pattern?

Love this but didn't see how many yards of yarn was used can you please let me know so I can be sure to get enough, would hate to start and run out?

Can you do this as a rectangular blanket also?
I have had several requests for a rectangle in this pattern so I am adding it to my upcoming to-do list! Thanks for the suggestion!

Tonya, my friend and I are experiencing the same issue, the blanket is taking on a concave/cone shape. Any suggestions?
Make sure the dc worked into the round below is the same height as the current row and not too tight.
I may have made them a little tight in the beginning, not so much now. Hopefully that's all it is. @MsSaka100
I would agree with @msSaka100 that is the first thing I would be concerned with. I hope that helps! 💕🌸
What is the color name of the yarn you are using? It’s lovely!
So glad you like it! I used Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek in colorway Melissani. It really is a lovely colorway! 💕🌸

@@nanascraftyhome I am on row 25. I’ll continue as is and hope for the best. Thank you for responding. It is a beautiful pattern.
@@sandragrubb4757 If it continues to be an issue and it doesn't seem to resolve with excessive cupping please let me know. Thank you so much!
Çok güzel bir örnek ancak çok ip yiyor.😊
What's your secret in keeping your rounds from going wonky?
Hard to follow for beginners going way to fast 😢

I will often pause a video, catch up , then hit play again.
