I bought my Mirage 2015 second hand back in 2018 with 47,000 km, paid $6,400 Australian dollars. Never had any problem with the car; the only money I spent on it, in all these years, was for oil changes, brake pads, battery, and tires. Of course, there are more fancy cars out there, but the car is really good, low maintenance, and reliable. I'll probably keep it for a few more years. :D
same experienced with my 2017 Mirage. the car is very fuel efficient and reliable. easy to fix, cheap spare parts. dont have any complain. well satisfied with its performance.
You got the manual shift model, which was smart---the CVT models were hit/miss on long-term reliability. As an aside, I spent the first 36 years of my life living in NE Ohio, in a small town on the coast of Lake Erie---I don't miss it one bit lol
My 2015 Attivo model is so reliable. It has so many extras that you wouldn't find on a similar sized car. I recently drove it from The UK to Athens in Greece and back again. It never missed a beat. Wonderful little cars,
I just bought the 2023 Mirage G4 SE and I absolutely love it, awesome little 3 cylinder engine with excellent fuel mileage, huge truck space and interior room, wonderful little car!
I bought a broken Mitsubishi Mirage 2017 at an auction in America and restored it myself. It's a good car. Fuel consumption is very pleasing. My family is satisfied.
We bought a 2015 in 2019 with 30000 miles and loved it so much that when we had to get another vehicle we bought a 2024. Now we have matching cars just different years.
Love it! My 2022 will be 2 years old in November 2023, and I'll probably have 40,000kms on it when I do a review. I agree with you on how low the cost of ownership has been.
Mine is also a 2017. I bought it at 49k miles or so and now it has 105k. No major problems. I like it a lot. One advantage that I havent seen mentioned much is how good a compact car is for city driving. Im referring to the maneuvers you have to do in a city like NYC or another city with very dense traffic. U turns, parallel parking. Squeezing around or between other cars. Etc. It is so much easier.
Same here, had alot of fun in that thing, back then where I live $50BZE to take the full it up n it was quite reliable the only thing I did to it was change a tire n oil changes
I’ve had my 2014 mirage for almost 3 years. Loved it for a long time. Recently got a Mazda 6 2.2td sport…beautiful quick car so comfortable with the highest spec available. Been feeling terrible about selling the mirage so last week I put the wrong fuel in the Mazda and pretty much killed the engine lol. It’s the best thing I could have done, killing the Mazda so now I’m back in the Mitsubishi again and love it even more, will never sell it 🎉😂 Currently on 119,000 miles and going strong. ❤🎉😂 🇬🇧
I have a 2020 ES, 5 speed. Same thing, but silver. I love the little thing- It’s a bit underpowered, but taking it easy in traffic makes me calmer overall. I can fill up for 35 dollars and get around 270 to that tank, give or take a bit. It’s small, but workable- I’ve fit a 65 inch TV stand in the car before, and my 85 pound dog fits in the back seat just fine. Those seats fold down so she has a place to sleep on trips. It has the niceties that the previous gen Versa I was cross shopping with didn’t offer standard- Auto climate control, Bluetooth, backup camera, cruise control, power locks/windows. Overall, this is all the car most people need, and it’s a shame it’s being discontinued. I’m glad I snagged mine up.
I've seen these cars with a whack more miles than 150,000. Timing chain, easy maintenance and amazingly rust free body. Best deal in cars and healthy bank accounts.

Hey Johnny Mullet! Any suggestion on which oil filter to get? Want to do it myself. Don’t want to pay $$$ at oil shop nor dealer (they charge $70!) and unfortunately the OEM brand is $10 per filter :(
Most oil filters are made by just a few companies. I use supertech from walmart. I have used them on multiple cars that see 200K to 300K over the years.
I am thinking this will be my next car. I have a 2012 VW beetle turbo and i have put in abput 10k in the last 8 months to keep it running. I wish i would have tbought about the Mirage a lot earlier
VW was your first mistake. Some people swear by them, myself and all of my mechanically inclined friends hate them. I have a friend that traded his Jetta 2.0T for a Civic SI of the same year. He said the VW was nice, but it cost him more to keep running than two cars put together. He's had the Civic for three or four years and I don't think he's ever had to do more than tires, brakes, and oil changes.
Start it up and within a 1\2 mile the heat is warm, Great heat in the winter. Gets very hot and is the fastest to get warm of any car i have ever had...
I want to buy a cheap new car under warranty. Should I buy a 2023 Mirage ES CVT? I want it to last at least 10 years and I drive 5k miles a year. Both the CVT and engine are reliable?
Lmao literally almost any car you buy will last 50,000 miles in 10 years. You could buy a $2000 used Toyota Corolla with 200,000 miles and it would last you 10 more years.
45 mpg on snow tires is mind blowing. You must get near 50 mpg on all seasons. I'VE always have had a soft spot for econobox cars. They're always the cheapest to buy, but also cheapest and easiest to maintain. It's a shame that every other automaker has ditched small cars over SUVs. Many average middle income people can't afford SUVs, even at a used price without having to deal with hundred of thousands of miles with potential repairs looming. So my question; as a big guy, how do you find getting in and out of the car that small and low to the ground? I'm a big guy myself and I had a Corolla Hatchback at one point and it was murder for me to climb in and out of.
I can vouch for that. I got one of these as a hire car way back when they were new in the UK (2013). I got 61.5mpg, which equates to approx 52mpg US. Also felt well made and the engine wasn't as weedy as you might expect. Im 5ft 11, average build, and i had plenty of space too. Handling was a bit roly poly though, and it was more expensive here than it was for you guys in the US which made it a far less appealing option - you could have a Ford Fiesta, Toyota Yaris or VW Polo for little extra which were all leagues ahead of it to drive. Shame really.
Can u fix my having so much problems no one want to touch my car am willing to pay but thy dont want to work is car gone to 10 car shop what going on help
I will never understand Americans loaning money for a car. Why buy a new one when you just paid off the old one that is still in perfect workable condition? It gave you the chance to get out of the claws of the hawks (banks).
Warranty and peace of mind. 100K mile car can become a major headache down the line (looking at you Hyundai). Also by 100k your car will depreciate a lot so by then you should decide do you want to live with it for its service life or upgrade and gets its current best sale or trade in value
I haven't had the same experience with my car. My brakes went at 90k and my clutch is slipping. My exhaust rattle, I think my engine is about ready to go. I think, I'm going to trade my car for a Honda fit or a civic. I have the exact same car except mine is grey. I'm not sure if i would buy a mirage again.
Brakes are a regular maintenance item. Clutch may be going because you may be burning it. Exhaust rattle could be a bolt or something. It'll be cheap to fix, just take it in.
Brakes went at 90K?!?! That's a really long life out of them!!! Clutch slipping??? That's related to either driver error burning it up or a cable adjustment because the mirage clutch is forgiving for the hp. Exhaust rattle?! That's an easy fix like a bolt or band. I think you'd be surprised when your fits brakes are done at 40k and civics interior panels start creaking bad
@@JohnnyMullet I live in Japan and have a three cylinder car.
