And this is considered one of the *weaker* episodes.
Yeah, Harley was a psychiatrist, actually assigned to the Joker's case and she kinda...Stockholm syndromed all over him.

this newest season in particular pretty much has all the weakest episodes in the show imo.
s3 is also good, but not as good as 1 and 2.
I heard that it fell off at season 3 and then there's going to be season 4 i don't know if it will be bad but from the trailers 1/10
@@hybridvenom9 S3 is actually pretty solid, even though it's not as good as the first 2.
S4 has been very mid though. the only thing that had me hooked of the trailer was potential uncensored tits, which weren't even there.
S2 is the best season though, so at least it hasn't been a constant downhill.
I like the part where Harley said "It's Stockholm Time" and then went all syndromey all over
For what s4 is trying to do, I think it’s doing it very well. I just wish the show didn’t pretty much completely forget about clay face and king shark. But again, for what it is, it’s great. It just feels like it’s missing something, that thing being those characters

This is a comedy show but it also reveals one of the most f'd up things in the Batman universe. Batman and The Joker are almost like best friends in a weird, messed up way. In a decision between Batman and Harley dying, The Joker will 100% of the time choose Batman in large part because Batman's one of the few consistent things in The Jokers life.
Basically like the comics these are based of no Hollywood mumbo jumbo 😊
I mean it makes sense, on a certain level. No one understands you quite the same way your mortal enemy does, and when they've been such a huge part of your life for years, even as an enemy, their importance in it can't be understated. Them dying would leave a hole just as huge as any family member would, particularly when that whole question of "what now?" comes up after devoting so much of your time and attention towards hunting them.

In a later episode, where after capturing Batman, Scarecrow unmasks him in front of Joker to see who he was. Joker gets pissed at that, because he didn't WANT to know Batman's identity. Said the mystery was half the fun.
Plus there's moral complexity. Poison Ivy is an environmental terrorist, ie she murders the shit out of oil company execs in gruesome fashion, but otherwise she's a pretty moral, grounded person. Similar with Mister Freeze: If not for his GF he wouldn't be a villain. Ivy lays it out pretty explicitly when she tells Harley that Harles is a bad guy but not a bad person. As compared to someone like the Joker who's just a straight up violent psychopath.
To answer your question, Harley Quinn *was* in fact a psychologist. Specifically, she was Joker's psychologist, and Joker twisted her into being the Harley Quinn we know from the comics, complete with the Joker even dunking her in chemicals to make her just like him.
That we know from the DCAU
She's one of those dcau originals that became super popular

Depending on the Version she is a Double Degree Psychologist and Psychiatrist. she meet the Joker she had just finished her Psychology Doctoral Dissertation and was going to try for her P.H.D., also she was doing her Psychiatric Internship, her plan was to build her Thesis on Case Studies from her internship. when she started to Hench for the Joker she was in the middle of (Successfully) defending her Thesis and waiting for her paper work to clear on her M.D. she was weeks or even Days away from going from Dr. Quinnzel to Dr. Quinnzel P.H.D., M.D..
the Scarecrow was her Psycho Pharmacology Professor and wanted her to change one or both her Majors and study under him full time.
In High School she was a Olympic Medalist quality Gymnast in multiple disciplines, she got consistently better scores a girl who would go on to win two Silver and one Bronze at the Olympics, also a bunch of other medals (including Golds) at World Championships and World Games, but for Spoilerish reasons she just missed out on Olympic qualification. In Collage for Fun and to show off she would preform Mens Disciplines as well out preforming the boys going to the National Championships.

This show is made by people who love the Batman franchise, especially the villains, and see how much character goes into these villains and leans into their development and personalities. We even see some heroes get developed as they poke holes in the issues a world like this has. Its kind of like that last season of Venture Bros with the villains and heroes basically being celebrities and the public just accepts being NPCs to all the chaos in their world.
It's made by people who love Batman... and very obviously also love Venture Bros.

That bit your said about therapists and psychologists going crazy isn't wrong, to help prevent this, their legally mandated to have their own therapy sessions to cope with listening to other people all the time. Look it up sometime.
So like 10 people go to Psychologist A and he and 9 other Psychologists go to Psychologist B but who does he go to ? Psychologist C ? Do they go around ... oh is that how storys of crazy/problem patients make rounds around psychologists circles ?
also she is so good at acrobatics that she is on par with nightwing who is considered the best acrobatics with no superpowers in maybe whole DC comics
Whatever HQ has any superpowers at all seems to be very inconsistent. Some versions mention that she has enhanced strength, stamina, durability, agility, and reflexes, toxic immunity thanks to Poison Ivy special toxin antidote. A lot of her feats in a lot of shows only support that - no way she is simply very athletic (the normal kind) crazy girl with PhD. She is also more or less traditional counterpart to Batman's Robins. So it makes sense for her to have some similar abilities, even if it's not logical without superpowers. Anyway, comics and consistency rarely have anything to do with each other.

Joker's relationship to Batman is NOT love more like obesession or as Joker told Batman in Dark Knight Rises, "You complete me." So much of Joker's identity is tied to his struggle against the Bat that even when he has the opportunity to kill Batman he won't so the game can go on.

Ivy's always been something of a Fem Fatale, so it is a bit odd to see that rather prominent aspect of her personality and design completely discarded.

Since she's more of a plany demigod now she outright kills or uses force to get her way with people. Rather than seducing men with toxins. The one thing I don't like about the show version is they made her a vegan. I like the versions where she's exclusively a carnivore because she considers all plant life precious and above animals
Harley wasn't _just_ a psychologist before she became Harley. She was a therapist _who tried to treat the Joker_ but he was able to turn their sessions around on her to make her into Harley.
Nux is definitely gonna love kite man, who is probably the best character in the show and I think the show is also the reason why kite man has grown in popularity in the comics but I could be wrong.🐱
Well considering Harley Quinn herself was originally from an animated series and quickly became a comic book staple, it would be pretty fitting if this show inspired the comics to really develop kite man
Actually, Kite Man was revamped in the comics before this show premiered. I don't like Tom King's run, but that story was good, and paved the way for the ongoing Kite Man renaissance.

i watched the whole show it is filled with gags jokes and batshit insane plot points it really a good show probably the best in DC roosters in comedy and meta commentary.

The show is mainly about how Harley goes out on her own and becomes an anti-hero, like she is now in current DC comics, but it’s also more of a satire on DC comics, Batman, and comic book troupes in general.
Harley Quinzel. Was indeed a psychotherapist. She was tasked/requested to rehabilitate the joker.
However the Joker is such a manipulator and pathological lier, that he *let her in* under one of his fake origin stories. Let her feel special by being "the one" to understand him. And slowly out psychologied a psychotherapist, changing her personality.

If you like this you'll probably be a big fan of the doom patrol show, its really good and jokers va was the main villain in season 1 plus its really random and out of pocket.

Jim Rash is a national fucking treasure, everyone in this is extremely good and god knows Alan Tudyk as Joker and Clayface is phenomenal, but every time I hear Jim Rash's voice my ears perk up like a goddamned dog, he's so much fun that he could play any role and be delightful. He could play a pediatric undertaker and make it enjoyable.
A little hard to believe that Kaley Cuoco, the voice of Harley, with all of the R-rated behavior exhibited in this animated series is the same girl from the rated PG/PG-13 Big Bang Theory and when she was younger 8 Simple Rules. She does it well, though.

Harley Quinn was an original character created for the Batman The Animated Series. She became so popular that she was later introduced in the comics. And yes, that's her origin. She was a psychiatrist at Arkham but she changed after she met the Joker.

Barbatos is the bat god who is essentially batman's dad from the comic story Dark Knights Metal. I just found it funny when they said they would go to Barbados for an all inclusive cruise trip. (Edit: not Bruce’s dad literally. More like a spiritual dad, an evil god with an obsession to get into the main multiverse and sees Bruce as the way to do it. Basically turning Bruce into a portal for him to use.)

@@zigslotheon No Barbatos isn’t his dad my bad. I just went back and found that Barbatos saw when Batman went back in time then started to use Batman as a way to enter into the multiverse. But Barbatos was the dragon that ate/destroyed all of the failed universes that the forger of worlds created until he betrayed the forger of worlds and took the world forge as basically a base camp. Letting all of the failed universes run wild, creating the dark multiverse. He took the Batman who laughs as a henchmen and created his own dark justice league using Bruce Wayne’s from across the dark multiverse. It’s a good story.

This series imo was kind of like Harley’s (and Ivy’s) Saga off the DC universe, despite it being so twisted, but after seeing her be her own self and breaking up with the Joker takes her story to new heights. The uniqueness of how the characters are shown in the world made it worth watching till the end.
I discovered this show after the end of the 1st season. it was the best thing EVER!

You know I've always liked Joker and Harley's relationship, not because I like it, but because I love how twisted it makes Joker. The more depraved he is, on every level, and more I feel inclined to laugh with him. But then I tongue of his and just wanted to vomit so violently it wasn't funny anymore. Please never again show me that side of Joker. I just want to watch him break Jason's kneecaps.
