I first got these in my 30's. I went to Dr who shrugged and said its nothing. Showed them to a couple more Dr's over the years nothing.... It hurt…..I didn’t realize they had nerves in them. Slapped bandages on, and good to go. Healed up with no scars and you can’t tell where they were today. And I didn’t have to pay a doctor to do it …ha, ha, ha 😃
My doctor told me not to worry about them even though they said I was pre diabetes. Covered them in a dressing, with apple cider vinegar, and after 5 days they went black and after seven days they dropped off! Worked great! However, I did smell like a bag of chips in the meantime!

I would add prediabetes to the list of causes. Insulin promotes growth. High insulin = higher growth. My Mom had skin tags for years 20 before being diagnosed with T2 diabetes. She had at least 15 skin tags. Everywhere you mentioned. Even her eyelids! It grew so much, her vision was obstructed. Doctor removed that one. She had them all over her neck, armpits etc. very obese and insulin resistant likely. I had 2 small ones under my arm. Gone after keto/carnivore way of eating. Took over a year for them to disappear. Never going back! Thanks Dr. Dan 🎉
I have PCOS so am susceptible to Type 2 Diabetes. I had one skin tag under my arm all my life. Then over the span of a few weeks I suddenly had over 20 appear under both arms. I insisted there was something wrong but the Dr said, “if you do you’re research you’ll see its nothing”. I did my research. Called the Dr back and I have never been spoken to so rudely and patronized by a Dr like that one had. I thought I was going insane, I was young and would never go to the doctor unless something very bizarre was happening to me. Eventually after he tried to scare me with banging his hand onto the table so I would stop crying, he asked if I had headaches, which I always forgot to mention that I did. So I had to wait one more month for an MRI to finally get my brain cancer diagnosis. Unbelievable.

I have quite a few small ones, had them years, and i had one pop up on my eyelid, and side of nose, which started to bother me! If your pee is yellow or dark, and smells sweet, you’re diabetic. If it’s clear, you’re good. That’s how to test for diabetes 100% accurately. Source? The doctor laid in my bed next to me who’s just been pumped for 28 seconds straight 😂😉✅

I got heaps of them, but for some of us they are just from having highly sensitive skin. I get them from where my clothes rub on my skin, like around the collar area and around the belt/boxers area.

I didn't have skin tags until I went vegan for 6 and 1/2 years. I started getting skin tags. I found out then that it was from type 2 diabetes. Since then I've switched to carnivore
I have 2 skin tags for like forever. They just don't go away. Didn't aquire any new ones but I have those two as far as I remember from early childhood. Do they really go away on their own? I think I went through a lot of different phases from back then... from less active state to more active style to different food. They are a bit bigger now but that's it.
i got one in my tummy and i thought it was a scab so tried really hard to pull it out and blood came gushing out. so am leaving it alone sometimes plaster to remind myself not to scratch. only one, i can't even tell anymore if it's a mole or a skin tag as it's been red since i nearly destroyed it. Having blood test soon, in a few weeks, so if anything serious which I doubt it but who knows, it should pop up but here is an interesting anecdote. saw this very suspicious mole on the left side of my foot. like most males was v embarrassed to go to the doctor. it kinda ticked most boxes (or just about) about the warning signs of a sus mole. so made a deal with myself, fine, go see a doctor, but let it rest for a month. even took a photo. then completely forgot about it. a little over a month has passed, and i couldn't find the "mole" anymore, gone, vanished. Turned out must have been a scab then (most likely) which looked like a suspicious mole (irregular, brown but a little red, etc) ... the skin healed, absorbed it.
If it bothers you a doctor can remove it (eye doctor or dermatologist). Don’t try to do it yourself if it’s around the eye though. There are nerves in the area and you could risk blindness.
Please don't use words like malignant or benign, unless you are describing a tumour. A tumour is an abnormal growth of cells and all tumours are cancers, but not all cancers are life-threatening. That's why we use words like malignant or benign to describe tumours. Not all lumps and bumps are tumours, therefore they aren't all cancerous, so don't use words like malignant or benign. If it's not life-threatening or if it's nothing to worry about, just say so.

I was thinking on geting to dermatologist, but i do need to cut of sweets, its not that i eat to much sweets, or that darn fast food, its that i am not really that active person, i mean i do work, i am constantly on my feets for eight hours moving heavy stuff and that kind, so is cardio workout for me every day:) but i do not really lose weight. I do wrong because when i came from second shift (usually around 9:10 PM, i do eat and then lay down and watch tv, of course, eating and going to bed, where will that energy go? nowhere. I am aware of that, currently i do plan on simple diet, no eating after getting home from work (2th shift), maybe a cracker just to confuse my stomack, but nothing else. My triglyceride level is a little bit high so i need working on that. Well taking how much stress i have on my work, i am not really surprised.
BULLSHT…. I’ve had skin tags since I was a teenager, with a family history of diabetes. I’m now 60 and tested every year. I’m not even pre-diabetic. I would really appreciate it if this Dr gave his governing institution information so I can lodge a complaint about misleading the public and causing anxiety to the ignorant who will run to their Dr/emergency room unnecessarily. Edit: I found the link and have penned a note of concern about this content.
Before complaining perhaps you should understand medicine. Not once did he say in all cases; some are caused by viruses, some mechanical but also a significant correlation to insulin resistance. What he said is accurate like it or not.
you tube doctors are mostly quacks with no certification. I am not saying that is the case here, theres some great ones too, but most either have no certification or are speaking outside of their expertise while contradicting the actual experts and just hold their degrees/licenses as cover for their quackery
I’ve had three or four skin tags over the course of my life, but I’ve not had one in at least five years. I’ve always removed them myself with a length of thread…tying the thread around the base of the tag, leaving it like that for a few days, and, deprived of blood, it falls off on its own. It occurs to me that most of the locations tags appear also correspond to areas with many lymph nodes…I’m sure it’s a mere coincidence.

Any chance of a video dealing with Fatty Liver and how it can affect you in gaining weight. I assume that a fatty liver can't store excess Glucose which is then turned into Glycogen and stores in the liver, if the liver is full, it stores as fat on your body?
Hi! Thanks for the suggestion. I'll be touching on this topic in my next video actually so make sure you're subscribed. There is an excellent book that covers this in detail - Nature Wants Us to Be Fat by Dr. Richard Johnson
I had some when I was overweight, last the weight and they shrank, i had two on my throat but cut them off. Still have a small one on my shoulder but its barely noticeable. Pretty unsightly if they get big
Don't cut out carbs from your diet, they are essential for staying healthy. We need carbs ( which are transformed into glucose aka sugar in our blood ) for energy. Without energy your body is running like a car on empty.... Eating less carbs and better sources of carbs like oats and wholegrains is a better option than cutting out carbs completely from your died. Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for our bodies, providing the fuel we need for our nervous system, organs and muscles to work. Without energy from carbs, our body will start burning protein and fat, however that is not recommended in the long term and could lead to serious and unpredictable health consequences.
I have very tiny skin tags which I remove myself occasionally and then sterilise. I have had a blood test and I am not pre diabetic according to my doctor. Had a few since I was in my early 30s now I am 58. But even if they are not a symptom of pre diabetes I need to loose weight . I wonder if hormones a factor. As womens hormones go up and down and that must affect our skin etc. Anyway I am not simply going to reduce food consumption ie calories overall but increase fresh foods and avoid hyper processed foods and avoid added sugar and crisps etc. snacks such as a few nuts and a piece of fruit ok but only if I count calories and importantly keep my steps up each day. I will get another blood check soon and keep a window of eating to around 9 hours and make certain I dont eat 3 hours before bedtime.😊 There is a definite link as far as I am concerned with my overeating and excess weight and skin tags. So whether skin tags relevant to insulin levels or not in my case I know my overall health requires a permanent drop in weight of around 2 to 3 stone in a next year and a permanent healthy fresh food diet avoiding foods that give me sugar spikes etc such as cakes or fruit juices or excess carbs such as large quantities of pasta and rice. Moderation and balance and sleep. The power of a good nights sleep important to help reduce cravings and preparing for work by having a healthy enjoyable packed lunch helps 😊

If you keep eating throughout the day, you will get insulin resistance issue. Eat one meal a day. Or a 4hr eating window.
I have 9 of the damn things and was told it was poor hygiene even though I shower every day. Doctor told me they was harmless and to ignore the internet. Glad I saw this as I mite have to go privet to get tests for diabetes
If your pee is yellow or dark, and smells sweet, you’re diabetic.
If it’s clear, you’re good. That’s how to test for diabetes 100% accurately.
Source? The doctor laid in my bed next to me who’s just been pumped for 28 seconds straight 😂😉✅
I've got 2 skin tags FUUUUUUCK!!! IM GONNA DIIIIIIEEEEE!!!!! 😢
Wle all are, but maybe not just yet!
Have lots of skin tags on my armpits that developed in my mid 20's. Then eventually diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I've kept my A1C under 5.8 for 9yrs straight with my average A1C being 5.4 which is normal. Yet I still have all those skin tags.
I got heaps of them, but for some of us they are just from having highly sensitive skin. I get them from where my clothes rub on my skin, like around the collar area and around the belt/boxers area.
Why do I get this video in my feed literally 1 week after I got my first skin tag? I havent googled into it and told nobody about it…. 🧐 whatever it is, Im happy to know about this information, eati nu sugary snacks got a bit out of hand lately. Guess I gotta tone it down now.
I've had loads since childhood, my blood sugars have always been fine, I'd say genetic then?
Check your fast insulin.
@@andrewrivera4029 - how do you check for that?
I think he also mentioned something about viruses didn't he? I'll have to check again.
He didn't say high blood sugars are the cause, he said high levels of insulin could be the cause. Big difference
I had a lot of skin tags around my neck .. I was overweight, had high bp, and was insulin resistant.. along with increased exercise cutting carbs and getting rid of almost all sugar I went on weight loss meds.. I have lost 33 lbs so far ,insulin resistance is gone , and bp is getting better… skin tags are almost gone as well.
Thank you for the information
My wife gets skin tags from wearing a shell necklace on her neck. She has dozens of them. If we go back on Carnivore diet they'll probably fall right off. Great video!😊😊
Ripped off 3 yesterday.. they were pissing me off. Barbed wire does enough damage, don't need to grow my own bleeders.
Super interesting, thanks doc.
Great video Dr Dan.
I died twice in 2017 the 2nd time I cracked my head causing 2 aneurysms which put me in a 10 week coma during that time I got quite a few tags on the right side of my neck.
I didn't have skin tags until I went vegan for 6 and 1/2 years. I started getting skin tags. I found out then that it was from type 2 diabetes. Since then I've switched to carnivore
We were told they were from friction. But that can't be true otherwise we would have them on our fingers and toes. They're from high blood sugar.
Great, so now how do we fix it?
It just means you need to change your diet. Mine went away when I started eating more fried foods and starchy foods and more veggies and fruits
I'm prediabetic and I started getting those, reading all these comments, is everybody that has them a pre-diabetic too?
I can't tell which is the skin tag and which is my weener ?
Put some ice on it,then you will know. Good luck!
Having blood test soon, in a few weeks, so if anything serious which I doubt it but who knows, it should pop up
but here is an interesting anecdote. saw this very suspicious mole on the left side of my foot. like most males was v embarrassed to go to the doctor. it kinda ticked most boxes (or just about) about the warning signs of a sus mole. so made a deal with myself, fine, go see a doctor, but let it rest for a month. even took a photo. then completely forgot about it. a little over a month has passed, and i couldn't find the "mole" anymore, gone, vanished. Turned out must have been a scab then (most likely) which looked like a suspicious mole (irregular, brown but a little red, etc) ... the skin healed, absorbed it.
I have one on my eye lid, it’s the only one I have . had it for many years . Should I get checked?
If it bothers you a doctor can remove it (eye doctor or dermatologist). Don’t try to do it yourself if it’s around the eye though. There are nerves in the area and you could risk blindness.
What about the bum hole 😅 . I heard thats a place for multiple tags at once
Sorry. I disagree. It’s entirely appropriate to describe skin tags as benign.
Excellent, thanks for posting.
Had one develop at the edge of a scar after surgery. No others, it has slowly shrank.
If you have a skin tag I’m afraid it is the end for you. But you may be able to prolong your life a bit
I have them.
And my sugar is low .
blood sugar level is around 4-4.3
So go explain that ????
I have two skin tags under my left arm pit and one on the inside of my right thigh near my groin area. Should I need to worry please?
I live with HYPOGLYCEMIA and I have skin tags. So what's up with that?
Hm, i got one of these but is on my face, basically on my left side of jaw (lower close to neck), at first i was what the f... is this?
Karen… 😅
you tube doctors are mostly quacks with no certification. I am not saying that is the case here, theres some great ones too, but most either have no certification or are speaking outside of their expertise while contradicting the actual experts and just hold their degrees/licenses as cover for their quackery
Do you have any information about Cherry angioma
I’ve had three or four skin tags over the course of my life, but I’ve not had one in at least five years. I’ve always removed them myself with a length of thread…tying the thread around the base of the tag, leaving it like that for a few days, and, deprived of blood, it falls off on its own.
It occurs to me that most of the locations tags appear also correspond to areas with many lymph nodes…I’m sure it’s a mere coincidence.
By analogy, Is it possible that insulin resistance is the same reason for diverticulosis ? That is, a form of internal skin folds.
We don’t do anything on the NHS
Waste of money
yeah better off to have zero medical care, just ask the americans how well their system works for the average person and how much they pay
@@kj_H65fand ask them about their diet as well.
I have one that appeared a couple years ago between my upper ear and sideburn. Is that normal?
Just rub it with apple cider vinegar, gone in a few weeks… done.
I had skin tags under armpits doctor froze them off, keep on coming back , I lost weight and reduced sugar and fizzy drink skin tags are gone drink more water this help me always do blood tests by doctor every 6 months
Two skin tags since I was 3 fit non diabetic and fit play sport
History of skin tags in the family but no diabetic cases in the family.
But we all suffered from Growing pains .
You might be right but wrong
Any chance of a video dealing with Fatty Liver and how it can affect you in gaining weight. I assume that a fatty liver can't store excess Glucose which is then turned into Glycogen and stores in the liver, if the liver is full, it stores as fat on your body?
Hi! Thanks for the suggestion. I'll be touching on this topic in my next video actually so make sure you're subscribed. There is an excellent book that covers this in detail - Nature Wants Us to Be Fat by Dr. Richard Johnson
I had fatty liver and was insulin resistant before I went keto.
I had some when I was overweight, last the weight and they shrank, i had two on my throat but cut them off. Still have a small one on my shoulder but its barely noticeable. Pretty unsightly if they get big
I cut mine off with scissors years ago. They never came back, and other than slightly high blood pressure, I'm fine.
I tied cotton thread around mine, it went black and eventually fell off.
I will get another blood check soon and keep a window of eating to around 9 hours and make certain I dont eat 3 hours before bedtime.😊
There is a definite link as far as I am concerned with my overeating and excess weight and skin tags.
I am schizophrenia, autoimmune, have alot skin boil every week, very obese, and I have skin tags, I 39 years old, I dead now?
Hi i have these what shold i do to fix please help
I just clip mine off with a pair of nail clippers.
Skin tags still look better than tattoos
I have 2 under the armpit. And on the ear
I have one one my back it’s like it became bigger i became more aware of it than before.
I have quite a few small ones, had them years, and i had one pop up on my eyelid, and side of nose, which started to bother me!
Just get some really fine cotton, or something similar, and tie it tightly around the tag, it will go black and eventually fall off, all took between 7-10 days!
This is guaranteed to work every time, just cuts the blood supply off completely and when it can no longer grow it just drops off!
Works way better than any fancy crap you can buy online!
@@Sharon-zi1xn Thanks 😊
I've got one on my back, really annoying
it would have been much greater if you gave directions how to slow down, stop and reverse this, IF its started...
I had one from birth in armpit but once i accidentally shaved it off and it never came back.
Bs! My nephew is 32 has 0 fat on him but has lots of skin tags
I get them when I have too much sugar.
isn't skin tag a viral wart
Got one under my arm once, I cut it off. It didn't come back. So there.
So a keto life style is the cure?
@@1969peace Carbs spike insulin more than most other foods so keeping them very low would be the answer plus it's the one thing you can live without because the body makes it's own when needed so i agree with you that a diet that keeps insulin low is the way 👍
No keto diet is like rolling down hill with no brakes. All is fine until you have to stop.
@@NordicMeatShield - the body needs carbs in moderation
