I'm super late but thank you this is literally the only video that actually tells you what your doing when adjusting throttle. All others don't mention direction or explain the adjustment well.

If you had a question about the throttle tube link and if it has an end cap on it I didn't see one. Did the conversion last night with the provided link. The tube has an end on it but you don't have to cut it off. I stuck a flat head in it and It poops right out if anyone had the same question. It's a fantastic mod very happy with it and the link provided for the right piece needed.

Great vid. The only thing I would add is the motion pro tube comes with a closed end that pops off and instead of wd 40 I used chain cleaner because it evaporates, I put the grip on without any new adhesive and works great.
Excellent video bro. I followed it to the letter and it was a super simple install. I no longer have that lag in the throttle when changing gears or slowing down at a stop light. My FZ-07 is now as responsive as my GSXR, well in the throttle, lol. But you know what I mean. Thanks again, the video was a huge help. Now I don't have to waste money on a power commander and all that nonsense.

Thx Brap Mode. The throttle tube works great. It took me 10 minutes or less to install on my 2017 FZ-07. I compared the original tube side by side with the r6 tube in your link and the difference was all in the area where the cables attach to the tube. It was so obvious that the r6 tube at the cable mount was larger causing less throttle twist due to the larger diameter. The new r6 tube was the same length and getting the closed end of the tube out was easy. I used the big end of a my 12 inch 3/8 extension. A couple of taps and it popped out easily. I used a small flat screw driver to lift the grip off the handle bar, Then i used compressed air and a little wd-40. The grip slid off the bar easily. I wiped the bar dry as well as the grip. I reinstalled the new r6 tube and grip. I went for a test ride and WOW what a difference. Very easy mod and it only cost 10 bucks or less. Win Win for me Thx again.

Tried installing mine tonight and couldn’t get it kept sticking trued loosening the cable but to no avail seemed like the top wouldn’t quite turn and line up the right way so it was grinding any tip would be appreciated!

Just a tip something ive been doing forever with dirtbikes and now my street bike. When putting a grip on use rubbing alcohol, just a little bit, and the grip slides right on, will evaporate after a while, even though takes some time since theres not really air in there, leaving only rubber on bar and that shit does not ever move. Never had a dirt bike grip twist one tiny millimeter doing it this way. Also the r6 grips are so much better so i just bought an oem r6 throttle tube that came with a grip for like 15-20 bucks and got a clutch side r6 grip and just cut off the clutch side grip and popped the r6 one on with alcohol and then just pop the tube on with a perfectly installed and spaced r6 grip already on it. Nice vid, anyone with this bike should do this!

What year is your fz07? Amazon says that it won’t fit my bike.

Great video, im going to make this mod on my mt07 from 2021 , just ordered this grip hopefully there will be an improvement especially with rewmatching
I just tried this on my 2021 and I couldn't get enough slack in the cable using both the upper and lower adjustment. When bars were turned hard to the right, the tube would not sling back as quick. Seemed like an unnecessary risk for now. I think they put a shorter cable on the 2021. Even the throttle case has the screws on top compared to the old with screws on bottom. Sucks!

really enjoyed this how-to. I am looking at buying an FZ and these mod videos have only made me want it more. Looking forward to the windshield review as well. Do you plan on doing regular maintenance vids? I have only ridden shaft drive cruisers to this point so info on how to take care of your chain and other exposed components would be great! +Martin Todd It is pretty different from a cruiser, but its a very easy bike to get use to. You're going to love it! And yes I will do maintenance videos because I plan on doing the basic maintenance myself. Stay tuned :)
Revzilla has everything you need for maintaining your bike on your channel. I brought my FZ-07 home yesterday it's my first bike and I love it so much.
congrats man, ride safe. I ended up getting a 2013 FZ1 and love it 1000 times more than any cruiser I have owned. I like revzilla and got some chain cleaner and lube. I think for now I am going to trust a mechanic for anything more but maybe one day I will expand
I like the upgrade , the throttle so much better now however I easily removed and replaced the old grip by simply submerging it in hot water and a dash of dish washing liquid instead of the WD40
submerge the old grip in hot water while the grip is on the bike? If so why? WD-40 works fast. You can clean up with high test alcohol very quick. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the hot water process.
2wrdr remixing the grip from the tube is done while the whole assembly is already off of the handlebar, so it’s easy to submerge it in hot water. WD-40 works well, but the hot water with soap idea makes for a slightly easier cleanup. Some also use isopropyl alcohol as a lubricant since it quickly dries clean with no mess. 🙂
So it’s just the r6 throttle tube you need to install, you’re not altering the throttle cables?
TBH I didn’t do all of that I didn’t loosen those bolts for the throttle. I just took those 2 Little Allen screws and replaced did nothing

I installed my R6 tube and it sticks so bad I had to remove it. The R6 tube is bigger than the stock I didn’t know you had to loosen the cable
LOL, instead of squirting WD-40 into your grip to remove and making a huge mess, just get a skinny slotted screwdriver, dab it with isopropyl rubbing alcohol and stick it under the grip to get alcohol under the rubber and it will come right off. The alcohol will evaporate and no mess. Same thing with putting new one on. No need to use hairspray. BTW, you want the R6 throttle from 2006-on. Get the real deal Yamaha one as there are many fake aftermarket ones that make no difference. When you get the right one, you'll know when you compare the oem vs the R6 one.Here is the part number:Yamaha 2C0262400000 Grip Assembly. $28 on Amazon.

+Shahil Prasad Because tension of the cable could be perfect for one direction but it may be extremely tight for another, so need to make sure it's adjusted for all directions.

When I put the new tube on and close the black pieces, it’s too tight and the throttle doesn’t free twist.

It should work, pretty much the same controls
you can buy the original by yamaha for 20 box.... this one is like the factory one !! you just pull the wire a little and actually you think is different just to inform you mate

I went to link and noticed the R6 throttle Tube was black and a closed end? is that normal or is it something id have to cut off? i notice the stock throttle feels different and causes my shifting to be weird to where i will jerk when i shift cause im not used to the delay. thanks in advanced
+Dustin Rust Yeah it shows black but the one the mail is actually yellowish. And the end is blocked off and you have to pop it off (no need to cut it off). Yeah I felt the jerk too but now it's completely gone!

+Brap Mode I've managed to compensate for the jerk by giving her throttle before letting the clutch back out and I can get some butter smooth shifts but it is kind of annoying since I'm new sometimes I over rev and just in general shifting smoothly is taking some time to learn.

You'll need a 8mm allen key to undo the bar end.
What year is your bike? I’ve got a 2015 and amazon says it won’t fit.

Hey man I installed the throttle tube and now it's all slippery and my grip moves with it will the wd40 evaporate after awhile I even wiped the excess off?
+Evan M I mentioned in the video to wipe it off and spray some clear coat or some paint before slipping on the grip. I would take it off and do that

Use brake cleaner or an alcohol solvent to get rid off WD40...

Double check the slack and the bar ends. Make sure there is enough room for the throttle to move freely

The R6 Tube will make the pull from min gas to max gas shorter and u have to turn less than on the original FZ tube

Sorry mate but your "tube" sucks i already try it on my MT07 is not even the original and there is no difference its like the factory one..."you just pull your wire more out" and you think only in mind that is different!
