Im loving Burns Road ke Romeo Juliet!!! The proper Udru accents, are a treat for me. Loooooove the way Shaheera speaks!!!
Amna, watch it, its nice. Won't say its BRILLIANT, but not bad at all. Plus that Biryaniiii, oi hoi hoi!!!!
Also, growing up, I thought it was Buns Road not Burns!!!

BRKRJ: I'm totally with Hassan on this. I found the episodes enjoyable, particularly because of Hamza's performance. He truly owned these two episodes. What captivated me the most were the interactions between Hamza and his sister's future in-laws, his heartfelt moments with his sister, his attempts to get along with Iqra's brother, his efforts to impress Iqra, and finally the entertaining mirror scene. 😊

I want to address about the Memon accent. Both my parents are Memon, and I am not of mixed descent. I would like to share my opinion that while my family doesn't speak Memoni, my mother and grandfather do. They converse in Memoni with their siblings, but when they speak Urdu, nobody can tell they are Memon. Our entire family doesn't have any kind of accent, but we can understand Memoni. It's not something unfamiliar to us, so we don't have an accent. It's just that if you visit a lower-middle-class Memon household, they tend to have an accent, whereas upper-middle-class families, like Ferya's, usually don't have an accent or have a very minimal one. This is just my observation and opinion. Of course, you may have a different opinion or experience.

Haha Point Hassan on Burns Road 😄 it's def a fun watch and especially for Karachi folks who grew up on waheed ki nihari and many memon friends and especially the posh ones where grsndmas were with heavy accents but the kids were all grammar school accents... This is def a good watch and can ignore the not so authentic things. I know Amna is put off by Saqib bhai and can't get past him. But Hamza and iqra r rocking it ❤

    Hi Amna,
I’m an architect and I don’t agree with paint splashing idea. It’s gonna make it look less formal.
A monotone artwork would be nice but I suggest you should put up sheer beige curtains with black rods all the way on top. It will give a nice normal look.
Layering your windows makes it look grander and beautiful.

Iqra is a very good actress. But don't know why she is doing similar roles. Her last noteworthy role was Laila which was just for a short series. She has a lot of potential but she is wasting it by doing such roles. She acts so naturally that sometimes I wonder if she was Zamda, what fire she would have brought on screen by her natural expressions and depth in acting. I mean, this girl made Mannat so expressive when even the character wasnt written with depth.

    • @samrahmumtaz9469

The problem is that iqra is not a romantic heroine... romance doesn't suit her... she is like the Tabu of india.... she was great in ranjah ranja and raqeeb se ... but now she is only doing romantic roles, which doesn't suit her personality ... and now you have suggested iqra as zamda ... i am only imagining her big, shiny eyes .... filled with anger, revenge, planning, and mystery... Good review of KMBK…
Please do not stop reviewing BRKRJ… I loved the two episodes. I feel Hamza as Farhad is performing very well… He looks the part and pronounces Femily, Teble, etc. The Biryani scene was so good. And the scene where Farhad rests his head on his father’s shoulder was so endearing. The fake Fazal Baksh (Bilal Abbas) too is sometimes quite inconsistent in pronunciations. We do overlook that, don’t we?

Shiddat : Heroine dancing in Rain with kids is so bollywood. Rmember Rehna Hai tere Dil Mein, masoom Dia Mirza dancing with kids and hero notices her and says my kind of girl, and full movie he is making her fool, saying he is the fiance with whom her parents fixed marriage. But turns out he is someone else.
My point, all heroines dancing in rain with kids are mark of extreme masoomiat. You are right..
Shamyl Khan did a very good rich man role in that Usama Khan drama on Hum Tv, Kacce Dhaage. He even looked very good.
I enjoyed Shiddat. Its a good time pass watch. No brainer.

  • @user-zo2im2mt5r
    @user-zo2im2mt5r 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

For the blinds honestly I feel you could go for something like a monochrome colour gradation of any colour you prefer. Having solids as in the form of motifs or the splashes of colour or whatsoever may look good in isolation but not wholly in respect to the place as that may take off the emphasis on the paintings and decor pieces & table lamps as opposed to a little subtle addition of colour in gradation or wash effect (as done in watercolours). Anyways, would like to also take this opportunity to appreciate Aamna, as you do have a great taste seeing all the furniture & decor at your place. 😊

I find it pretty shocking that Amna says its ok for teen aged girls to use an older man who in turn is using them and they are fully aware of the fact. so it is ok to go to a mans apartment where he is alone and the guy is drunk and asking her to get physically close to him, just to get some favour out of him?. All of us know where these situations lead to if it is a real life situation and not a Pakistani drama under threat of censorship. Besides putting themselves into a precarious situation by offering their physical presence (to say the least) in return of poetry, you dont think its ethically wrong to read someone else's poetry as your own? I hope Amna said its ok in jest and she did not actually mean it.

BRKRJ: For some reason, I cannot get into Burns Road. The cinematography is brilliant, and the acting is as well. But Idk for me it is missing something, I just don't know what. I think Humza and Iqra are amazing as always. Freeya's character, to me, feels like a mature version of Jiya from Suno Chanda. Maybe that's why. I keep expecting her to turn into Jiya, like full-fledged, but then it doesn't happen. And I get disappointed. I don't know. I think Aamna is being too harsh towards #BRKRJ & Hassan. Sometimes Aamna watches cringe, both #MM & #Mein were rigid. #BRKRJ is enjoyable despite the age old story, what makes it unique is the food & burns road ka tarka. The business element also makes it look apart. But above all Iqra & Hamza’s chemistry is natural & thats why it makes its enjoyable to watch. Hope it doesn’t become stretched & dull.

Aamna, I would opt for French drapes and an inset Roman shade. Right now the shades look like they’re coming out of the window sill.
More importantly, I would move the sofa vignette to a solid wall and have art work behind it for the filming as windows and mirrors do not look good on screen.

I’m really enjoying Burns Road ke Romeo Juliet. I’ve read Shakespeare’s classic of course and seen multiple variations of this particular play. Whether that’s ’Shakespeare in Love’’s comedy or Ram Leela’s Indian touch. I’m actually interested to see how a Pakistani version of it plays out.
I’m not really getting into the accents or authenticity of the characterisation (yet) purely because they’ve given us a macro picture of two different families with different backgrounds and that’s enough for me. Going into the micro becomes unnecessary for me. :)

@Aamna, you can get the backdrop blind with the Laburnum(Amaltas), in pastal yellow......that goes with the color of Something Haute too.
I have Semul, Laburnum, Jakranda, Chorisia( Floss Silk) , Gulmohar trees in my garden.....what a beautiful sight it is when they are in bloom. Can chose blooms of any of these trees too in pastel shade.

You can paint your old blinds in some other color or better yet you can ask the blinds people if they can do something about the color. A budget friendly option would be to do block print on these shades. The local block print workers might do it for cheap .

I agree with Hasan. I'm enjoying BRKRJ, because ofc Hamza's performance, very refreshing visuals with good chemistry between the leads. Also, the Biryani scene, Farhaad resting his head in that auto scene, those sibling interactions. Iqra's family has not much to offer right now but the story looks entertaining to me. I finish the epi's without even realising.

Hi Hassan, I really like your authenticity. I am sikh, Punjabi from India and went to one of the premier boarding schools in Dehra Dun. It was very British and run by them…..so grew up not really owning my roots….never listened to Hindi or Punjabi music… it had to be the top British charts and US. Anything Hindi or Punjabi was not being ‘IN’. Today, I am older and my whole perspective has changed.I feel a privilege to be born in india, and proud of my roots. Kudos to you for owning that! Love your show it makes me smile. Also being proud of your roots does not mean you are looking down upon others. I have friends from all parts of India… they are equally proud of their origins.

There is something missing in Burns Road....the acting is good, chemistry is there, but still goes flat, there are not many great exciting moments. Its a bit slow n predictable. Element of thrill is missing. Also Mujhey bhi memoni family ke rishte nahi samaj aaya, it took me a while n still confused so thanx Hasan.

These shades can be designed to reflect each of your personalities. I thought about daisies (among other things) for your side Amna even before you said yellow and Hassan's side should have some graffiti that speaks to him (since he mentioned graffiti himself). I am sure one of your art students can come up with a complimentary yet distinctive design for both sides. Good luck, looking forward to it.

Aamna you should get zebra blinds. Also u need a contrast with the walls. Either paint the walls darker or have darker window coverings so it doesn’t look so washed out. Go for taupe and sand beige, or light and dark grey.
