The whole point of Romeo and Juliet is that its young, irrational, love. I think they’ve been so on point by showing just how fast and hard the two have come to fall for one another. Seriously, we cannot sit and ask ki aakhir romeo aur jukiet ko ek mulaqat mein hee pyaar kaise ho gaya? Thats the presupposition upon which the whole story plays out. So in my opinion, burns road makes a lot of sense and captured the conflicting emotions of the audience in this parent/child dilemma very well.

bkrkrj: i thought you guys would point the excellent direction in the sequence where everyone was somber and upset because the relationship had been exposed so every single character was wearing blue in ep 8. And then farhaad called kiran for help so she came wearing pink and served chai in pink cups and convinced the father and things looked from there on. It may just be a small thing but I really liked this way of defining the mood of a scene and such well thought out sequences. kudos to fajr raza

I think you guys completely forgot the story of Romeo and Juliet that the story is clearly based on. Romeo and Juliet is supposed to be a very short lived illogical love story. They fell in love in one night and committed suicide for each other the story clearly reflects this. Falling in love too so and ruining your life for it.

BRKRJ - Yes the families ‘met’ if you want to call it that. But the fathers both lost it upon seeing each other. They didn’t give each other a chance to sit and actually talk. They hate each other because of their past experiences not because of who they are.

not to be that person but as far are durefishan is concerned it does unfortunately feel like you guys have been biased towards her. Her performance was lack lustre in kaisi teri khudgarzi and is now in ishq murshid. Yet both of you constantly praise it, especially hassan who seems to be obsessed with her beauty. Even in khaei its nothing exceptional. She only has one shocked expression.

    Hi guys
I m from India and i want everyone to notice my comments
The reason i mention everytime that I m from India because I want to bring your attention towards love from Indian audiance for Pakistani drama and i expect you and Pakistani audiance themselves should admire the drama culture they hv
Here in case BRKRJ, if i hv understanding that they have already mentioned that it is Rome Juliet drama then why Pakistani audiance is constantly criticising the drama, the director didn't mention that he is giving you innovative story instead you should be happy to see such director is creating masterpiece of art, but audiance is stuck at the place that there is nothing new
Also for Amna, the director has deliberately shown the story this way, it is not flaw in the story
One will hv to understand the lead couple are in there teen, their decisions are based on there emotions not on logic. How do you expect them to behave like adults, the story teller wants to tell that despite of all the difficulty they still decided to stay together and struggled to make their way forward, also in further story they will hv friction but they will work it out it is not gonna be Mannat Murad
Instead i request you to refer "Sairat" movie from India, it has similar storyline but at the end they die due to honour killing

BRKRJ: How is Freeya's father liberal? 😅 He is extremely conservative, but seems a bit more liberal compared to Freeya's brother, bhabhi and mother. He acts like he's given his daughter freedom but actually wants to control every decision of her life. He is ready to get his daughter married forcefully now, and even earlier, he didn't try to compromise or give up his conservative thinking for his daughter's happiness. He was also overreacting, acting like his life was over just because Freeya fell in love.

True .even if Freeya dad doesn't like Farhad he shouldn't be pushing her to marry someone else. Why do Pakistani dramas always show a girl liking someone or choosing someone herself for marriage as a punishable crime when it's something allowed in our religion also? She tells her dad that even if I agree not to marry Farhad and forget him please don't force me to marry someone else because she is not comfortable with an arranged marriage and her dad refuses to listen. And you can have a connection with someone instantly. Plus for girls sometimes it's more about someone respecting them enough to care treat them with kindness and respect their opinion. Farhad is constantly telling her her respects her decision and won't force her into anything. Sometimes trust and respect is more important than love or finding perfect person. Farhad may be from a poor background but he is a good guy and a gentleman through and through. Especially in the cafeteria and park scene when you compare his treatment of Freeha to the guy her parents want her to get married to.

BRKRJ: The performances in this week's episodes were incredibly strong. A big shoutout to Shabbir Jan sahab and Hamza. That intense face-off between the father and son really stood out (my favorite scene from the episode); thanks to the powerhouse acting from both actors. I watched it twice. Hamza's portrayal in that scene really impressed me; he matched Shabbir Jan's intensity perfectly. The dynamic between them elevated the impact of the scene.
P.s. Iqra's and her father's scenes were good too.

First sight love isn’t actually a love. It’s an attraction or crush or at max an infatuation. And one may feel it at multiple times. Like some fans also feel it for some celebrities. People just confuse it as love and destroy their lives. Love develops when each other start to live and spend moments together.

BRKRJ: your talk reminded of one of the dramas from “Aik Mohabat sau afsaanay’ by Ishfaq Ahmad. Rich girls falls in love with poor boy, parents try to make her understand she wont be able to live in such a lower socioeconomic strata but she insists she can and gets married to him. She is coming from a lavish household and next morning she is given a lota and told to queue for the toilet outside in the corridor because all flats had a combined toilet. She goes out, tries and comes back to her parents house, absolutely fantastic writing by Ishfaq Ahmad

BRKRJ: It is the easiest to make a love story with class difference between boy and girl. So cliché! I can’t understand dramas like BRKRJ, MM, KAM 3, where the girl from an affluent family neither sees the huge family class difference nor the house where she has to live and adjust after the marriage. So unreal specially when the boy is not even in a position to live independently with the girl. In rich guy poor girl love story, the girl has to move into the guy’s house and not vice versa, so at least that makes some sense. But why can’t we have love stories amongst the same background families? Furthermore, no male member of a family pushes a woman out of the gate in the manner they showed in BRKRJ. Most exaggerated, unreal situations are created in dramas.

the problem is not about family differences. most such love stories are made like this. You guys are now talking like parents because you are older. you are judging the situation like adults who have seen things not work in real life. also in films there's more build up in the romance before the family get involved. Hindi movies take the whole first half building up the romance so you are absolutely rooting for them . second half the family difference come in but by then you completely love the couple .

She has much more to offer than just be there and look pretty. We have seen her caliber and seeing her in roles like these is just sad.

    Déjà Vu Drama - BRKRJ
In a world filled with endless dramas, there comes one that feels like a déjà vu - a familiar plot, the same old characters.
Picture this: just like Romeo and Juliet, you know they're doomed to meet a tragic end. Or is it like déjà vu from that other drama, Mannat Murad??
Iqra, who seems to have mastered the art of playing the same character in every drama 🤔🤔 (she's a female version of Danish Tamiur 😂😂 play the same role in almost every drama)
So, is it groundbreaking television? Not quite.

BRKRJ - I hate the way both families are dealing with the situation. I hate the way they are ‘handling’ what they think is a problem. I fell in love with my now husband and we are worlds apart. His family and background is the complete opposite to mine. Us getting married was literally like WW3. But it happened. We recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary with 2 kids. It worked out. I’m not saying falling in love with the complete opposite person/family/background will work out 100% of the time because nothing is guaranteed. But it can happen.

Hi. Love at first sight is understandable in Burns road and as Hasan u asked whom do we relate to more it is definitely the parents and specially the boy’s father. He was rightly saying that they were humiliated and there is a mark difference in the families. Being in love is fine but sadly he had no anger abt his mother being pushed. He only showed some anger there and when she shouts he stops. Infact he shud be angry in her that she was ok with his brother pushing the mother. Some self respect shud have been shown.

Hasan k reviews are like illaichi in biryani. Oh bhai dramay ka naam ‘Abd pur ka DEVDAS’ hai, protagonist poet hai aur poochtay uss ko floodlight mien larki kesay nazar ayi? Pyar kesay hua?
Again dramay ka naam ‘burns road k ROMEO JULIET’ hai aur poochtay ho ‘kya ye sahi ker rahay hain’? Of course not the story is of two hot headed immature people in love. It is a story of rebellion. These questions make sense in shiddat where the treatment is more contemporary.

In Shiddat they are trying to make us feel bad for Sultan. But Parizay as a girl doesn’t have to return his feelings. She felt harassed by him at school. The only problem she did was that she got everyone else involved to humiliate him whereas she could have just said that she didn’t appreciate the letter

BRKRJ:: The drama so far is directed soo good. But still I can't justify Farhaad's outburst towards his father and family. His father agreed to meet Freeha's parents and they were insulted so much. But Farhaad didn't noticed that and blamed everything on His father.
And I cannot understand how they fell in love in such a short time period. If they were college lovers or they would have spent at least 10 episodes in developing love in them. They directly showed the confess of love in ep5. That was different in Mohabbat Gumshuda Meri, time was taken to set the plot and as they were neighbours the bonding and love between them made sense. And in MGM , Zubi's parents weren't considerate of Her feelings towards Saim, so them running was quite justified and they weren't a 4 day love story they somewhat had a bonding even before falling in love, so we were able to root for them. But in BRKRJ, its looking rushed. But how can we complain when Romeo Julliet, itself is a 4 day love, they ran away and they died illogically in end.
At least they wouldn't have shown parents agreeing for meeting each other, then Farhaad blaming his father would've been justified. I seriously felt bad for Farhaad's father in the 2 episodes, he is handling and working so hard in the Pakvan even at such old age, and Its okay if Farhaad doesn't wanna work at Pakvan so at least he should do a job to support his family.
    Anything isn't making sense!

  • @moosani11
    @moosani11 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

BRKRJ: I am on the parents team only to the point where they don't see any compatibility. However, the arrogance and bad treatment and badtameezi is uncalled but it actually happens, so it was close to reality. Also, getting Freya forcefully engaged to the next guy is extremely unfair and it also happens, so it's really close to reality. Secondly, I don't feel compelled for the couple's love for one another, just because this was way too short lived to feel this deeply to go against their families for the lover. What they feel for one another is called trauma bonding, what got them close is their shared loathing toward their families' toxicity and disapproval of their choices even before they met one another. So from seeing one too many stories like this in real life memon families, this show hits some real scenarios... It is because of their families toxic behavior, they will be making this awful mistake of wanting to be with one another, which eventually won't work... It really doesn't without immense sacrifice and by then the infatuation dies out. @hassan, best to acknowledge at least this comment

My son was in 4th grade - a 5th grader girl had a crush on my son and whole class and lunch room use to tease him - said there she is & all that
My son actually came and asked me innocently if he can have a girl friend- I asked him do you like someone - he said no but just asking- I said there are responsibilities even towards your Gf - buy her gifts- spend some time and all- now it’s up to you if you want to do that all- he very cleverly said I have limited pocket money I save which I’m not going to waste.
Few weeks later he came and told me that I’m being teased bcoz a girl likes me I’m not really interested -- so I went met with the teacher and sorted out. So the whole situation was handled very nicely from the school end also- at the same time made sure the girl dint feel bad abt liking anyone

I think its young love so its completely understandable. I want them to together but not Farhad leaving his house or not listening to his father. Maybe they should spend more time together to learn more about each other’s differences. Well Farhad knows but not Freeya. I get Freeya’s pov too, you want to marry only with someone with whom you love. When they understand you then it doesn’t seem like nobody ever could like they do. And when its first love then its hard to forget that you don’t care about the class difference but in real life i think it depends on people. As u said people can work make it work with required compromises. It’s all about wanting to be together.

KMBK: Husna's character is really negative. She is manipulative. She seeks Ahmed Zaryab's attention, and in some scenes, she seems to believe that Ahmed Zaryab likes her.
Jahan Aara also desires A. Zaryab's attention, and to make Husna envious or burst her bubble, she has shared her picture with Husna. It's Husna who is using that picture. Firstly, she shared with Zaryab that Jahan Ara is in contact with Sheheryaar, and JA shared a picture with Sheheryaar while she herself did it. So she is playing against her friend Jahan Aara too.
Sheheryaar and Jahan Aara are gray characters. They manipulate people but choose whom to manipulate, like Sheheryaar being very respectful towards Zaryab's wife. Nadia Jameel's scenes were few but impactful, and she acted brilliantly.

The drama literally has romeo juliet in its title so it's clearly following that in terms of falling in love. Also love at first sight is a thing and it's fine. Romeo juliet fell in love in one night and did everything for that love . Yes it may seem illogical to some people but it's not unbelievable.

Not seeing Romio and Juliat but it’s a flaw in writing and direction that they are unable to make that connection. Jane Jahan families are so different but you do want them to be together. It’s lack of good writing that fails to make chemistry as all historical love stories had been about opposites/rich poor but you want them together.

Btw you guys didnt mention when reviewing Jaan e Jahan that the 2 met both had stuff to say but the phone rings a couple of times but then they leave and nothing is said, that was a completely wasted scene with no purpose because in the next episode they will meet again in the same place. Aap ne to sari criticism Khaie ke liye bachadi and yes Khaie is slower now but its still gripping stuff, I am still watching it and look forward to it, the acting is great, the story is great, unlike the other dramas playing right now. Khaie and Stand up Girl are my top dramas.

That scene had a purpose. It showed that Mahnoor was about to reveal the stepmother’s tactics but stopped herself when she found out Shehram’s excitement about his mom’s bday. She held herself back at that moment as she didn’t want to hurt him. By the time they met next time her father had already been insulted and she didn’t want to hold back then

I as a viewer, also feel the same as Hassan & relate more with parents' stances & don't root for couple by any mean. First of all, there's no solid moment when they fall in such hardcore mad love for each other & then the class differences, girl's family is kinda too narcissistic plus her father's behaviour was always so mean intolerable. Maybe that's the story or direction flaw... it's strange that I don't feel any sympathy for girl or boy & feel more for boy's parents.

Also I don't know why people compare brkrj to mannat murad just because of rich girl poor boy. The stories are clearly different. Mm was a story of a possesive annoying mother who was obsessed with her son. Brkrj is nothing like that
