This song haunts me, a constant earworm. It is achingly beautiful and the story of the video even more so. Love to know who the "prince" is played by. Reminds me of a young Ian McLellan.
Actually, the original performer had an even lighter tone, and that's what works best with the way this was composed. Darker, richer voices would NOT suit this piece in my musical opinion. There's not enough drama to the writing of this song for someone with, say, a coloratura voice. Perhaps you're more used to heavier voices in general?
