August 2016 ++

Across the heath, in the early morning glow
Birds pass on by, where may they be tomorrow
I follow the sizzling of the wings into the somber moor
Age-old songs resound from the haze
Come and fly away with us
      Let the wind carry you
      Far away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can
      Let us chase the skies
      In our dance
Silken Haze, so chilly, brushing my skin
Further and further, where shall I find my yearning's goal
I close my eyes and grow a plumage
I feel the wind already and spread my wings to fly
Come and fly away with us
      Let the wind carry you
      Far away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can
      Let us chase the skies
      In our dance
The heavens in you, how can I know them, can I see them
In flight we dance like the stars, moving on their paths
Come and fly away with us
      Let the wind carry you
      Far away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can
      Let us chase the skies
      In our dance

      There you go:
      Over the heather
      in the next matutinal shine
      the birds fly.
      Where could they be tomorrow?
      I follow the rushs
      of their wings
      into the silent moor.
Where Ancient songs come through the mists
Come and fly with us along
Let yourself be taken away from this place
Come and fly as high as you could
      Let us hunt the heaven
      The wind dances
      Mist like silk
      Strikes my skin so cold
      Forward and forward
      Where is my longing destiny?
      I close my eyes
      and I grow a plumage
      Again i feel the wind
      and open my wings wide
Come and fly with us along
Let yourself be taken away from this place
Come and fly as high as you could
      Let us hunt the heaven
      The wind dances
      The heavens in you
How can I know them, can I see them?
      We dance in our flight
Like the stars, who follow their path
Come and fly with us along

I wonder about all those masterpieces I know nothing about, but are here somewhere. I once found people mentioning some artists on TH-cam few people knew about. This is one of the ones that I mentioned. Then I spent weeks watching many videos and becoming a fan of some artists I knew nothing about. Exploring those artists was fun. Listening to the good music few people know about has made realize that hipsters are not snobs. They just prefer that kind of thing. In the meantime it became less cool to make fun of them. Just like with the emo kids before them. I failed to see which music subculture is the new victim of the internet mob that is seeing them as some sort of caricature weirdos. They are too much into those women who had a really bad day and ended up screaming at the cashiers, and feeling bad about it afterwards.

I guess a lot of people have lost interest in history, especially of their own nation. Therefore, these people don’t know about the existence of such music. They just go with what’s "cool" with their friends, afraid to stand out for listening to other kinds of music. Seems like peer pressure. Eurovision thus goes with what’s trending with the different nation’s people. That’s my guess. Personally, I listen to many genres, classical, modern. Medieval songs, military marches, modern synth, etc. Our world is rich with music for everyone, and comes from different points in history.

Further and further, where shall I find my yearning's goal

    Lyrics
Over the heath in the first light of morning
Über die Heide, im ersten morgendlichen Schein
Move the birds, where will they be tomorrow?
I follow the rustling of wings into the silent moor
Ancient songs emerge from the Mists
Uralte Lieder dringen aus den Nebeln vor
Come and fly away with us
Komm und fliege mit uns fort
Let the wind carry you away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can
Komm und flieg so hoch du kannst
Let's chase the heavens in dance
Lass uns die Himmel jagen im Tanz
Mists like silk brush my skin so cool
Nebel wie Seide streifen meine Haut so kühl
Further and further, where do I find the goal of my longing?
I close my eyes and a plumage sprouts
I already feel the wind and spread my wings
Come and fly away with us
Komm und fliege mit uns fort
Let the wind carry you away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can
Komm und flieg so hoch du kannst
Let's chase the heavens in dance
Lass uns die Himmel jagen im Tanz
The heavens in you, how can I know them, can they see them?
We dance in flight, like stars that go their own way
Come and fly away with us
Komm und fliege mit uns fort
Let the wind carry you away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can
Komm und flieg so hoch du kannst

I love to imagine the times when this kind of music was ‘contemporary’. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want to live without ambulances, antibiotics and proper toilets. But somehow, being nostalgic about the old days resembles a longing for a less rushed, more basic life. More in tune with ourselves and nature.
German, Celtic, Slavic... though different peoples, they all had their similarities. And today, we’re all mixed and mingled among each other and I think that’s beautiful ❤️
Let’s sit together and make music every once in a while.

As best I can, I do live that way. Like you, I want the benefits of modernity but without the entanglements. It is not all that hard. It just takes a certain commitment and shared beliefs with friends. I started living like this in the 1970's and I am now 67 years old; it took a while for me to deprogram but I miss very little of that world. (Thank God for TH-cam though!!!!)

Peter Callaghan truly inspiring! Some only see extremes: either a life as a urban, capitalist Borg or living without electricity and clean water.... but in reality, balance is the answer, I think.
I hope more and more people find the courage to disentangle themselves from the modern hassle and realise that it doesn’t take all that much to live a satisfying life.
I have recently decided to ditch my ‘career’ and go back to working part time in the social/ care sector, so I can be with people and spend the rest of my time writing books. Will also start to grow my own potatoes and carrots - looking forward to it!

Age-old songs resound from the haze
Come and fly away with us
      Let the wind carry you
      Far away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can
      Let us chase the skies
      In our dance
Silken Haze, so chilly, brushing my skin
Further and further, where shall I find my yearning's goal
I close my eyes and grow a plumage
I feel the wind already and spread my wings to fly
Come and fly away with us

    English Translation
Across the heath, in the first morning light
The birds are leaving, where might they be tomorrow
I follow the murmur of the wings into the silent moor
Ancient songs emerge from the mists
Come and fly away with us
    Let the wind carry you
    Far away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can
    Let us chase the skies
    while dancing
Mist like silk brushes my skin so chilly
Further and further, where do I find my desired goal
I close my eyes and a plumage sprouts
Already I feel the wind and spread my wings
Come and fly away with us
    Let the wind carry you
    Far away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can
    Let us chase the skies
    while dancing
The skies within you, how can I know them, can see them
We dance in the flight like stars that travel their paths
Come and fly away with us
    Let the wind carry you
    Far away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can

      Sopra le praterie,
      nei primi raggi dell'alba;
      se ne vanno gli uccelli;
      dove mai si troveranno domani?
      Io seguo il fruscìo
delle ali verso la palude silente
      làddove vecchi canti
      traspaiono dalla nebbia
Vieni e vola via con noi
      lasciati trasportare dal vento
      lontano da questo posto
vieni e vola in alto quanto puoi
      cacciamo i cieli
      il vento balla
      Nebbia come seta

      come potrei scoprirli, come vederli
      Balliamo nel volo

Well, music brings people together, and German can be beautful language when sung:-)
I had German in the school, but it is getting kind of rusty now, although it is closely related to Danish (and of course further out related to Hindi).

Across the heath, in the early morning glow
Birds pass on by, where may they be tomorrow
I follow the sizzling of the wings into the somber moor
Age-old songs resound from the haze
Come and fly away with us
      Let the wind carry you
      Far away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can
      Let us chase the skies
      In our dance
Silken Haze, so chilly, brushing my skin
Further and further, where shall I find my yearning's goal
I close my eyes and grow a plumage
I feel the wind already and spread my wings to fly
Come and fly away with us
      Let the wind carry you
      Far away from this place
Come and fly as high as you can
      Let us chase the skies
      In our dance
The heavens in you, how can I know them, can I see them
In flight we dance like the stars, moving on their paths
Come and fly away with us
      Let the wind carry you
      Far away from this place

Kiyo Its 2 sentences followed by a sum up - surely you got the point. So, I dont get how you dont get it - you can clearly read. Maybe - spend less time laughing your ass off with acronyms - take one word at a time, and see how you go. Both Reina and myself have blatantly explained it. Thats twice. Do you get that, at least?
