    I expected nothing less from Savaged Regime, and man Aria's Clock Tower in YM2612 form is just, wow. This is even better than the GBA's version, which was already great on its own.

    This is a great arrangement, but I find it interesting that so many arrangements I've heard -- perhaps all of them --, including this one, gloss over (or simply do not notice) the detail right around the 1:33 mark where, in the original piece, the bassline actually dips a little bit below the pre-loop ostinato and creates a nice moment of friction.

    Holy shit Gecko , This is way better than the original , I can not believe that the Yamaha 2610 sound-chip could outperform the excellent Game-boy advance sound-chip like this ,,,, !!!!!! O.O ,,,, Wow am so speechless fella , You are getting better and better , Is this natural !? lol

    • @shintenku
      @shintenku 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      But there are amazing games that can outperform the dedicated Yamaha2612 sound-chip for the genesis , for example , the Sonic advance games has a outstanding sound-chip , And i know , not many can master the GB Advance sound-Chip , only a selected few , but it's a impressive sound-chip nonetheless .

    • @shintenku
      @shintenku 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But who am i kidding , nothing can top the legendary Yamaha2612 , I only have the Turbo Grafix 16 as a rival , but not even the SNES and it's sound-chip can outperform the Yamaha2612 , lol ; ) , Still '' Sega does what Nintendon't ''

      Sorry fella , as much as i love the Epic Yamaha2612 and the Genesis , i doubt it can make something unreal like this achievement : th-cam.com/video/kIIArDZ3SeI/w-d-xo.html ,, ; ) , that is why i love the GBA Sound Chip

    Welp, honestly, I wasn't actually sure if Aria of Sorrow even really had many notable tunes outside of Castle Corridor and Heart of Fire, but now I realize how much of a mistake that actually was, because god DAMN man, I did *not* expect this song to be this fucking good; especially after hearing the VGM preview of this track, I just thought the song wouldn't build up any further and just stay the way it was, which admittely was a very boring part of the song, and just didn't hold me in enough at all
    _However..._ Once I heard the pick scrape FM guitar patch at 0:35 (really nicely made FM patch btw), now that's when I thought "oh, okay, this shit is actually pretty freaking awesome" lmao; great job with this btw, as always ;)

    • @DehnusNorder
      @DehnusNorder ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The SPC700 + it's DSP has it's strength for sure, but the YM2612 + SN76489 + Z80a was a Composers Duo heh. Were one is a sampler which sometimes feels like it slaps you int he face with how the samples start and end? The other is far smoother, and in the hands of the right composer, especially those who knew the set up from the arcades? It's a very capable sound solution.
      I mean Renovation (or whatever names that publishing house took before SEGA bought them) shined in music with Arcade perfection on the megadrive :).

      "Sega does what Nintendon't"
      dude that fight is way too old, let's be clear here:
      Genesis can do Synth: Great eletronic stuff, oh wow chiptune yes sir, I like it, cool;
      But SNES... dude, that thing can even replicate the Genesis soundchip with e a s e:
      th-cam.com/video/8V8q6Q7TmUw/w-d-xo.html
      take a look at one of your most famous tracks on Nintendo's big boy, 96.5% identical
      SNES covers on the Genesis always sound crappier, because it can't have samples in all the channels, aka, instrumental music sounds way better on the other side:
      th-cam.com/video/uSK7ZRcNzEI/w-d-xo.html
      We can S L A P P
      th-cam.com/video/vqeK2Ubd1tE/w-d-xo.html
      We can sound C L E A N
      th-cam.com/video/j6VoS1RlA6Q/w-d-xo.html
      th-cam.com/video/bN-WLDSiEp8/w-d-xo.html ( oh look! An HD Synth on the SNES! )
      We can sound A t m o s p h e r i c
      Just look at how clean a full instrumental song can sound in the SNES, genesis can't do that with only one sample channel,
      Both had very good sound quality and they end up in a draw after all the graphics, gameplay, and all that crap stuff, but if I was a composer in the 90s, and had to work with SNES or the Genesis someday, I would chose SNES all the way.
      Way easier to work with sample-based music.

      I recently looked at a midi rip of the original and I think there is a case to be made that those notes weren't actually part of the composition but of a delay effect. They still do sound like they're missing to me though.
