Betcha KIA corporate says one EV6 is just like another EV6, available power makes no difference. It's the marketing department that pushed for the "GT" name despite knowing that no visual distinctions exist between GT and non-GT. All KIA's cost cutting tricks were used to keep the sticker price from going even higher! Thank you, Miles, for braving the endless winter storm weather to give us all a POV Drive Review - umbrella not included.
I take this over Tesla models ! Iam in The Automotive industry! People are trading in Tesla for Kia & Hyundai Electric & Other Hybrids & ICE Powered Vehicles
Actual range tested by C&D for the EV6 GT at 75mph was 190mi. For the MYP, 230mi. The EV6 GT comes very very close to hitting EPA range. The Tesla, way far from it.
My actual range on my EV6GT is around 230 miles in mixed driving. I am using the AC and making an effort to drive economically. I bought this car to both daily and rip on. It serves my purposes perfectly.
Really enjoyed your review and love this car. It feels like Kia consciously decided driver engagement was important. While other cars are putting displays in the centre and aiming to put the driver out of a job, so to speak, I love the fact they put flappy paddles on this to control the regen - that creates driver engagement if you want to have fun. What range could be squeezed out of it in eco mode? That’s the big question. A TV show here in the U.K. seemed to imply you could get 250 miles with careful eco driving.
Well said - this felt like much more than an "A to B" vehicle. However, I would be shocked if you could eek 250 miles out of the GT, even with ultra-conservative driving. Driving fun was clearly the focus over efficiency
Obviously, this is super late in regards to when you left this comment, but I've been DD'ing my 2023 EV6 GT for a few months now and 250 miles on a single charge is absolutely possible if you can stick to under 75 MPH and leave the regen breaking in level 2 or auto.
so even on eco, range still takes a hit.. i was hoping it would be like the regular AWD version unless you go GT mode. it will be probably like 180 mi if u keep using GT. Best I can do for 100% on AWD with this CA rainy cold weather was still 270. 290 during summer.
Honestly it seems impossible to get a straight picture on this. Like you, I expected eco mode to have much bigger range. And indeed the car was recently reviewed in the U.K. by the show Fifth Gear (1000 mile trip across Norway) and they seemed to suggest it was getting nearer 250. With I could get a straight answer.
Change the rims to 19s I bet 230 is easy to get in normal mode. I am getting 290 right now in gt line in eco mode winter driving back roads and light highway
Hey Miles, nice video on the Kia EV6 GT. I hope you’re staying safe and dry from these California storms. I live in the Bay Area and it’s just as bad 🙏🏼
The quality of a lot of the interior materials is still too low for any car at this price. There has to be a point where the price needs to visually be justified, not just with what's going on underneath.
I had see along years, better interior materials ended with bad shape and noises, compared with 'suposed' low quality materials, which were better fitted ans build. This is a fact that many people doens't seem to aknowlegde. Wonder why.

if it is used incorrectly and when the battery is charged, the car can explode because of the battery, it is like a bomb when it explodes, it needs to be studied carefully, the work of electric is not perfect yet
KIA all day. Forgot to mention, the best equipment and called medium quality camera to the one of the best of market was a bad review. If you want to excuse with the weather, at least say so.
Back button markers as well. Subtle changes visually. I do wish it was more aggressive looking but at the same time I don't want it to be over styled like the 5N. That stands out way too much for my needs. This is a killer sleeper imo.
I disagree. I've had manual transmissions my whole life, including my last car a 2019 5.0 manual. The Kia destroys it. It's more subtle, but I dont need to be loud to have fun. I'm not a Harley Davidson kinda guy.
Having a manual is just more engaging if anything. You get more control of your vechicle but that's bout it. My first car was a manual. To me having fun is about how your car handles on the curves and straightaways. If it doesn't have an LSD for example or some sort of torque vectoring AWD then I ain't trying to take it on the curvy back roads.
Because you'd need 14 solar panels and an inverter to make 7kw charger. A standard 400w in peak sunshine would take a month to charge the car assuming 12hrs per day.

Fun car, but this is an SUV, and would absolutely crush the BMW at the stoplight. Most of us buy EV's because nothing touches the acceleration, and they save tons of money.

This isn't an SUV in my opinion, it is too low to the ground. This looks more love a 4 door hatchback.
Agreed
Agreed just can't wait for EV to be officially legalized in Africa

Interesting! I wouldn’t be surprised if at least some of that was true. I’m glad this GT model exists 😊
I personally like that it doesn't scream "600hp rocketship"
The gt has a different motor
I take this over Tesla models ! Iam in The Automotive industry! People are trading in Tesla for Kia & Hyundai Electric & Other Hybrids & ICE Powered Vehicles
What a fun review! Thanks for keeping it interesting!
Now this is a nice Kia

I dig the word of the day for the driving experience. I don’t remember it in some of the other videos
I’m glad you like it! It’s been something I’ve been doing for a couple months now. I don’t do it for First Drives 👍
That's nuts in the rain! I hope the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4's I am putting on mine hook up as well.

So interesting videos always
To think it grips in rain even with summer tires are a step away from slicks is impressive.
Why aren’t you getting the side camera view in the instrument cluster when you signal for a turn?
It's probably just turned off.

Thank you! Stay safe
This thing is so awesome!
Yeah, the launch was a bit Pessimistic cause of the conditions, what makes me say that, the rain, I'm not trying to be enthusiastic
I own this car for about a week my range is 220 in normal mode. Back roads and some highway
A little bit less gloss black in and outside the car would be nice, for my taste.
Agreed
So uhh.. that an EG6 But upgraded?
why are the brake cailipers green? ...it should be black to match all colours
Too be Different! It's A Electric car ! I like it different! I have driven Tesla ! I take This KIA & Hyundai Ionic 5 & 6 over Tesla

can’t believe it has 576 hp
Why?

No not really
So EV6 does not lack personality as Tesla Model Y? What is the difference?
Steering, shape, interior design.
12:00 zero drama to it. I will never buy electric until I’m mandated to
At first door opening I immediately thought “Audi doors and Elantra N seats??”
For performance and price , this EV6 GT need bigger battery. Under 200miles is crazy
It’s 206, but I agree the range is a pain point
Soooo more weight?
No thanks.

3.8 in the rain I bet it can hit 3.2 on dry roads
Wouldn’t be surprised!

I love mine. 😊

Not really. Green calipers, different wheels, and a restyled diffuser portion. That's it

wanna go faster? Set the regen lever to zero. set drift mode on (pull levers to you). Now straight line it! Thank me later!
It's a hatchback. Hatchback isn't a dirty word.
Using SUV sales that's why but yes this is a large hatchback or wagon if anything.
No ventilated seats huh? Taking cues from Tesla I see...
This would make an awesome daily driver but nothing can replace a 6 speed gearbox as a fun car.

I’m more interested in a Toyota 86-equivalent EV whenever that comes out!
The color is chartreuse
I still don’t understand why they don’t just put solar panels on electric cars lol well, no logical understanding anyways. Just greed
