If you spin the blade, you develop warm spots in the ice that is directly touching the cylinder. Spinning the cylinder, I think, allows for more interaction with the coldest ice in the bucket. Just my thought.
The problem with Europe (UK included) and food is that out there, people are just closed minded. In every country on that side of the Atlantic, whenever something new comes out, there's always bitching about how "that's not the way it's done". It's like, if you don't make a dish exactly how they did 300 years ago, then it's clearly garbage. There is plenty to criticize about America, but one thing it's very good at is being open to other cultures and being willing to try new things.
+Michael Have you ever been to any slightly larger city in Europe? I'm assuming not because if you had, you'd have to know that what you are saying is just bs. I have an icecream place close by that serves everything from Pancakes with Applesauce ice cream over Ferrero Rocher ice cream to Weißwurst ice cream. Not exactly traditional...
>> There is plenty to criticize about America, Do cunts on the internet always add this on when they anything positive about America? Don't be so predictable.
+Michael Another thing to criticize about the US, it's filled with ignorant shits who make assumptions about countries they've barely even seen on a map.
I need this in my life. Also could this be what the italians do to make their gelato taste so much? I'm from norway and the difference in quality and taste is just night and day...
I think I would keep the caramel but leave out the nuts (obviously keeping the peanut butter in the ice cream!) - whole nuts just aren't my cuppa tea. The rest looks yumms though :)
Why is it that ice cream videos always show melting ice cream on people's hands? It's literally the worst part of ice cream. Why would you highlight that?
to me, making ice cream should be like, a really happy venture. he seems like he's on anti-depressants or something. or maybe he just hadn't had enough ice cream yet when this was filmed...?
I just tried this recipe, and it basically yielded butter. I use dry ice and a stand mixer on stir. Anyone else have an issue, spinning this base? I feel like the fat content is too high.
Ryan Fitzgerald You have to make sure that it is cooked long enough at the proper temp, and do _not_ over mix, mix in the icecream maker untill "soupy" and chilled and then freeze, over mixing is the biggest problem with hand made icecream
As long as the salt doesn't get into the food itself it can by just any type of salt, even that one used to defrost the pavement in the winter. So why kosher? Reminds me of mosquito yeast trap hoax which encouraged people to use brown sugar to start up the yeast activity. I'm sure 90 % users would go out and fetch some brown sugar to create mosquito trap. As well as those who try to cool down the ice cream mixture and go to the organic store to fetch some kosher salt. Anyway, love the ice cream result *heavy breathing*. My dream job.
Profesor Qwertius The larger “grains” prevent the salt from dissolving too quickly and pooling at the bottom. These machine were original designed to use rock salt which is much larger but sometimes difficult to find unless you use the CaCl “snow salt” for outdoor use. Kosher is easier to find while being not too fine(aka course)
Salt is pretty much always kosher in the religious sense, but people usually use rock salt in ice cream freezers because it doesn't dissolve as quickly and is much cheaper bought in bulk than table salt is.
sea salt would be the best .. but kosher is cheaper . also in my opinion honestly you dont even need all that just get a strong zip lock bag .. get an even bigger bag fill that with ice and the salt ... put that in a ball contraption and ride your bike around with that on the back ( burn calories before you enjoy )
you can't hear it in his voice but this man really loves his job
He's definitely not the most expressive person out there, but it look like he does indeed love his job.
Yeah by the way he taps his feet he really love his job, although you can't see or hear it ... I can tell.
@@FirstLast-kr1fw Odd comment...
I did get the impression he is very into his profession, and I agree with him.
dude who knew nick kroll can make icecream?
I was gonna say the same thing, he's a mix of Dax Shepard and Nick Kroll
I had to look twice.
looks like baked beans
that's why i clicked on it...now i need a baked bean ice cream...
Still thinking about them beans...
I can just see from the texture of the ice-cream that it's good
Great guy, likable and smart about his thing, without using stupid hipster words.
YankeeSlayer69 what is a stupid hipster word for example? Just curious here.
young nxgga I see.

"Artisanal" "from scratch" "locally sourced" etc
"Locally sourced" and what do you say if it is actually made from local ingredients?
When did Nick Kroll get on Bon Appetit?
that looked really appetizing dripping down his hand
the bobs burger of ice cream
This looks insanely delicious!

I love that he didn't add chocolate.I'm always trying to get the peanut butter ribbon at B&R. I want the ice cream to be PB!
I want that ice cream. NOW!
Honestly this is so good
It looks like diarrhea.
you have weird diarrhea then
Runny brown liquid with chunks in it isn't what your diarrhea looks like? Something is wrong then.
What a cool guy, he's passionate and knows what he's doing.
Nick Morgenstern = Nick Kroll's taller, less creepy brother.
wish we had places like this in the UK. They try to start up but always close soon after.

Yes, because murrica sucks
Outstanding video.
I need this in my life. Also could this be what the italians do to make their gelato taste so much? I'm from norway and the difference in quality and taste is just night and day...
looks so delicious
I need those peanuts now 😍
Love this guy! More videos with mr morgenstern plssss
my mouth is watering, and yet i just ate
he makes that paperhat look badass
I thought the sauce was canned brown beans at first. opps
Haha same here
So thats just an advertisement for an ice cream shop? Thanks BonAppetit!
I love peanut butter that has peanut butter flavor too. ::Rolls eyes::
oh .. my ... holy... Yum !!!!
Major salivary rush when I saw the nuts in caramel sauce. Excellent.
I first thought he put baked beans on his ice cream xD
I think abt this ice cream at least once every two weeks since I watched this vid like two years ago
Amazing
Can I sub baked beans instead of caramel?
this guy is a charisma vacuum
I love him
San Antonio!
Alton Brown said that any ice cream with egg is not an ice cream at all, but actually a custard.
Does anybody know the model of the ice cream maker?
Makis123 It clearly says Oster on the side.
I think I would keep the caramel but leave out the nuts (obviously keeping the peanut butter in the ice cream!) - whole nuts just aren't my cuppa tea. The rest looks yumms though :)
I'm. In. Love.
can't beat snickers ice cream
Got a little ice cream on your hand there, bub...
Does anybody else hate seeing food drip everywhere in these cooking videos? I can just hear my dad yelling at me...
them rustic ass scoops of ice cream.
let me flip my bang so i can read that title again
he got that ice cream maker at walmart
Lmfaoooo
Why is it that ice cream videos always show melting ice cream on people's hands? It's literally the worst part of ice cream. Why would you highlight that?
This guy looks like that sad clerk from spongebob
Can’t make ice cream without a hat.
I'm from San Antonio. GIve me my nuts back.
Really, though. Those redskin peanuts are one of my favorite snacks. I especially love peanut patties.
mmmm baked bean icecream
??
Why did I think this was baked beans ice cream??😂
I didnt even read the whole title I thought he was making PB
to me, making ice cream should be like, a really happy venture. he seems like he's on anti-depressants or something. or maybe he just hadn't had enough ice cream yet when this was filmed...?
So sometimes shadowhunters have a hobby of making ice cream?
liquid nitrogen freezes the fastest for the smoothest texture, but no one has that at home.
just wonder what skim milk power he used
that beautiful ice cream on a .05cent wafer cone

If you got stage 1 of butter making it means you churned or mixed it too long
Is there a reason for scalding the cream? I mean milk proteins gets destroyed and broken when mixed with boiling liquid.
2019!!!
Mother WHAT.
I Thought it was baked beans...
He then eats it with a spoon xD
He looks like the guy from the kroll show
looks like beans
Peanuts are very close relatives of beans. Peanuts are also leguminous plants as beans...
CreamFreshCream cool
Probably tastes delicious, but if you're gonna put something room temperature into the ice cream, you probably shouldn't put it on a cone.
*sigh*
When you're dangerously allergic to peanuts.... :'(
is it supposed to look like you're putting baked beans on ice cream?
Jif rules.
This is nucking futs

Funny he thinks you'd have to go to the organic store for kosher salt
In some countries you have to... kosher salt isn't as widespread worldwide as it is in the u.s.
hard to find kosher salt in my country. we need to, yes, go to an organic store
Salt is pretty much always kosher in the religious sense, but people usually use rock salt in ice cream freezers because it doesn't dissolve as quickly and is much cheaper bought in bulk than table salt is.
more freakin pinto beans ?!
I clicked because I thought I saw beans in the thumbnail
sounds naughty
It looks like something I would eat every day so I better not go near it.
Why "kosher" salt?
It's coarser and doesn't dissolve as quick
sea salt would be the best .. but kosher is cheaper . also in my opinion honestly you dont even need all that just get a strong zip lock bag .. get an even bigger bag fill that with ice and the salt ... put that in a ball contraption and ride your bike around with that on the back ( burn calories before you enjoy )
I thought this was a Nick Kroll sketch and I was disappointed
Why does he look like the chocolate brand bounty
Those are baked beans
umm i thought they were beans
Cursed bean ice cream.
those peanuts kinda look like natto
Thought those were baked beans 😶
الترجمه 😢
I thought those were baked beans im stupid

It's like a handicapped dude scooped my ice cream. Nice shirt btw.
What the nuck?
Man, he lost me at the caramel, but the rest seems good.
as good as this looks, ....it was very painful watching the icecream flowing over his hand.😐
😂😄😊😇
Same ice cream machine. 1 hr in it and nada. Still liquid. Tf man
Did you put the cylinder in the freezer before mixing?
Spoon biter
I hate when chef, especially young male chefs, say their opinions as fact. The pretentious attitude turns me off
Jimmer Seiber
Don't forget he's also white. Another reason to dislike him.
or just put peanut butter on vanilla ice cream. way too much effort
11th
I hate peanuts
It all makes sense, because if you eat peanut butter ice cream, you're going to get diarrhea and you're going to have ants in your pants.
Probably good but looks like diarrhea.
needs cannabis oil ;)
Youtan Poluo haHAA 420 duuuuuuuude lol
