Agreed. I don't follow any rule unless I know why I'm doing it. Like I never salt the water when I'm making pasta because no one's made a valid case for why I should, and I always put the noodles in before I start the water, because I think it cooks faster, and no one will tell me why I shouldn't.

If you’re still wondering about the pasta thing, I use a lot of salt in my pasta water (to the point where it tastes almost like sea water). Reason being, the pasta only absorbs a small amount of the salt and it adds flavour to the pasta itself. I’d recommend trying one batch of pasta without salted water and another with salty water. See which one you enjoy more 🙂
Ava Kay also, its faster when you are doing many things at once. Adding salt to water increases its boiling point, meaning that the water can reach a higher temperature. This means that instead of putting pasta in the water before its boiling and keeping an eye on it for a while, the pasta will cook faster so you dont have to worry about it while cooking your protien, or making your sauce.

the struggle was the best part of the Claire BA videos! Its like she was climbing this impossible mountain and got to the top, and we all got to enjoy the peak! It was beautiful. The struggle is what made us connect with her. She is a human showing us her most vulnerable moments of "failure", and the struggles in the kitchen that we all go through was an inpiration to not give up in our own kitchens! Plus, junk food truned gourmet? Who could resist!!!!!!

Wherever Claire goes after leaving BA, I hope she lets us know so we can follow her there. Like many others, I subscribed to BA because of her. I thought she was funny and cute so I wanted to see more of her. Once that she's gone I'm not going to unsub from BA, but it's going to be sad that shes no longer part of this channel.

OMG, Claire! You are my new baking crush! My grandson and I made homemade vanilla ice cream and your chocolate sandwich cookies this past Sunday! The whole thing was a rousing success! I wish I could post photos here for you to see! Since this was just a short day's visit, the cookies were not perfect. However, I learned that after the very cold dough is rolled to 1/8th inch the dough needs to be semi-frozen. Then you make the grid and refreeze. When I came to realize we needed more time than we had to get it perfect, I cut our losses and saved 1/2 the cookie dough. Thanks again for a way cool formula! Smile.

the struggle was the best part of the Claire BA videos! Its like she was climbing this impossible mountain and got to the top, and we all got to enjoy the peak! It was beautiful. The struggle is what made us connect with her. She is a human showing us her most vulnerable moments of "failure", and the struggles in the kitchen that we all go through was an inpiration to not give up in our own kitchens! Plus, junk food truned gourmet? Who could resist!!!!!!

Wherever Claire goes after leaving BA, I hope she lets us know so we can follow her there. Like many others, I subscribed to BA because of her. I thought she was funny and cute so I wanted to see more of her. Once that she's gone I'm not going to unsub from BA, but it's going to be sad that shes no longer part of this channel.

I've seen this mentioned in a few places but seemingly no one has a source for it. I hope it's just one of those internet rumors that gets passed around and ends up having no truth. But if she is leaving, then hopefully she's starting her own show somewhere.

OMG, Claire! You are my new baking crush! My grandson and I made homemade vanilla ice cream and your chocolate sandwich cookies this past Sunday! The whole thing was a rousing success! I wish I could post photos here for you to see! Since this was just a short day's visit, the cookies were not perfect. However, I learned that after the very cold dough is rolled to 1/8th inch the dough needs to be semi-frozen. Then you make the grid and refreeze. When I came to realize we needed more time than we had to get it perfect, I cut our losses and saved 1/2 the cookie dough. Thanks again for a way cool formula! Smile.
The level of dorkyness Brad and Claire have is such a nice change when it comes to all the other more serious chefs.

Just Google "Claire Saffitz" and you will find "This Week at BA" which mentions her leaving.
But it must not be very far, because it said we may still see her. Now this either means they have a bunch of videos with her still, or she's just changing departments and is still around.
