Sharing Dr Berg notes on this important episode!
Methylcobalamin is vitamin B12, and it’s essential for DNA, red blood cells, and your myelin sheath. Vitamin B12 also helps support your spinal column and brain.
If you’re deficient in vitamin B12, you could experience tingling, numbness, or burning sensations.
Other signs of vitamin B12 deficiency can include:
    • Chronic pain
    • Depression
    • Muscle wasting
    • Blurry vision
    • Tinnitus
    • Anemia
    • Mouth ulcers
    • Sore throat
    • Hair loss
You could also experience symptoms if you have too much vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 toxicity will typically occur if you’re taking too much synthetic vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin)-not the natural version (methylcobalamin).
Cyanocobalamin can build up in the body and cause symptoms such as:
    • Acne
    • Palpitations
    • Anxiety
    • Red cheeks
    • Headaches
    • Insomnia
    • Akathisia
    • Suicidal thoughts
You could be deficient in vitamin B12 long before you start to feel any effects. But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t damage being done. One of the first symptoms you would eventually feel is extreme fatigue.
Foods high in vitamin B12 are animal products. There is no vitamin B12 in plants.
Top causes of vitamin B12 deficiency:
    • Malabsorption
    • Plant-based or vegan diets
    • Gastric bypass
    • Atrophy of the stomach
    • Gastritis
    • H. pylori infection
    • Ulcers
    • Inflammation in the intestines
    • Aspirin
    • Alcohol
    • Junk foods
    • Antibiotics
    • Antacids or PPIs
    • Birth control pills
    • Pregnancy
    • Lactation
    • Smoking
    • Polymorphism
    Thank you Dr Berg! 🐱👍🏿

I was shopping for liquid vitamin B12 online when I realized that there were two types available: cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin. The former had about 21,380 ratings as opposed to the latter with 10,800 ratings. I had my mind made up to buy the most popular one of course, but decided to watch one of Dr. Berg's video on vitamins B12. Wouldn't you know it, my original choice was NOT the right one! Who would have thought?
This was very useful information at the right time.

Hey it was several years ago I ran into this problem. Would like to briefly relay my story if it helps anyone. I almost died from this issue and was reluctant to seek medical but glad I did. It's hard to say if I have the genetic resistance or just bad habits with nutrition but I have made big improvement overall. Btw I'm a white male of German heritage, and in my 40's. No drugs or smoking btw. When it got bad I was under alot of stress and had the blood anemia problem. Very low blood oxygen, weak as hell cause of that and started to show jaundice appearance. the cure was blood transfusion to clean up my blood, then a week of better diet rich in protein. As well as many doses of B12 injections spread out over a couple months. in basic terms the b12 and the protein need to work together to get the best results for your body. If you only have one or the other you will not get any results and that created bad malnourished stuff on my end. Was rough, and I still struggle at times, I have to force myself to eat even if I'm not hungry...

Hey Dr. Berg! I am a bit confused as to how long it takes the body to go into autophagy from fasting. When researching studies online they usually say it takes 1-3 days for the body to enter autophagy. I know this has a lot do with how fast one’s metabolism is, but is there any evidence that 18 hours is enough to enter autophagy? Intuitively it sounds right, I’m just wondering why this hasn’t been studied on humans more considering autophagy and fasting are the number one most powerful healing tools. When I fast for 2 days I feel like super woman and I have so much energy, focus and my spiritual connection is super heightened. 18 hour fasts are great as well and I’m trying to do intermittent fasting daily now.
I love your videos, I’m trying to watch all of them because you make everything so simple and easy to understand. 😊👌
    Much love!

i dont know anything about this, but i would say this idea is in general wrong. usually body processes dont run in 0 or 100% state. autophagy probably happens all the time , its just increasing more and more the longer you fast.
its like with fat and sugar metabolism... the body is processing fat and sugar all the time , the question is in which ratio.

Autophagy start times can vary a lot, if you are new to fasting it can take 24 or more hours. I have done a lot of 36 hour fasts so I am generally into autophagy in about 12 hours. The 36 hour fast has become my fav and only fast I like. You only miss all meals on one day, then fast during 2 sleep cycles. Say from 6pm to 6am the third day, very effective and not hard at all after the first few times.

I was taking a stomach liner to prevent problems from taking Naproxine years ago as well as other meds for FMS , only to find out in a chance conversation recently that the liner ...100mgs Lansoprazole ... should only be taken for ONE year maximum because it can affect Vit B12 level . I was taking Lansoprazole for TWENTY ONE years !! Rec3ntly did a retired nurse friend told me about it . They were shocked that the varous GPs in different places I've lived in over the years had never picked up on it , even though my Vit B 12 levels are always on the low side and I take 800mg capsules . So I asked my current GP to wean me off the Lansoprazole and am almost free of it , just another few alternate days. Then it will be interesting to see if my Vit B 12 level increases . 🤔

One of the biggest contributors to b12 deficiency is amalgam toxicity which is body weight ratio dependant...and destroying gut biome. 4mths after a dentist put a humungous filling in mouth I had sciatica for seven years.. and pernicious anaemia..until 4mths after it was removed..in the meantime I had crippling pains head to toe like a vice, psoriasis and severe clinical depression I didn't think I would wake up in the morning on so many occasions it was frightening...all the while batting back doctors whose only advice was repeat belittling condemnation for not taking their horrid antidepressants.
I eventually self diagnosed..and added it up..and survived the health system..and have learnt to much since..and continue to explore the interconnectness of symptoms.

I have MTHFR, 2 copies of homozygous C677T mutation. If I take methyl forms of b12 or b9 I get extremely sick because my body just cannot methylate or detox well - so it's kinda like suddenly unblocking a terribly blocked drain and it all gushing out too fast for the body to cope.
I have found with my double copy, pretty much the worst mthfr mutation combo, I do way better to avoid any b9 supplements and make sure I eat a lot of b9 rich organic foods and supplement the b12 in the hydroxy form. B12 helps the body use b9 so it works for me 😊

Now I am back taking my vitmains & minerals. You cannot take any Minerals when you cleans with EDTA because it is negativley charged & it will just neutralize the minerals, so do the cleans then go back on your daily regeim. I hope this helps! Stay Blessed ✝

The information that B12 only source is animal is quite gory. B12 is synthesized in final digestive process. So if you are getting it from animal, you know what is mix in your meat. Actually final digestive process output of humans also has good amount of B12.

Yes I have noticed also that many supplements jack up the amount of B12 as Berg says. They have insanely high percentages, for also B6 and vitamin C sometimes but especially B12. I can see how this would be too much and I feel like I have even felt bad and negative on vitamins and supplements with too much B12 or zinc!!

We can find B12 in the leafy greens but just picked up from the ground and no washed so the bacteries with B12 is still on them. But for that you have to make your own garden or to pick up wild plants and no wash them

Untrue. You have to either eat meat or supplement. Body stores b12 so it might take a whole before you feel the effects of a deficiency.

There is not enough b12 in dirt for a human, and there never has been, that's why humans don't crave dirt and we wash dirt off of food. B12 is from animals. If dirt has b12, then it's not really dirt, it's animal droppings or remains.

Thank you Dr Berg!! 🙏❤🙏❤🙏 I have every symptom you mentioned. And now I know why!
I cut back on the amount of red meat I was eating a few years ago, due to me being unemployed and the cost of meat becoming so expensive. I used to eat red meat around 2-3 times a week, now I'm lucky to have it 2-3 times a month!! I will now be buying and eating it a bit more often, as much as my budget can stretch for it.
Will that repair the damage I've done though? 🤔🤔😟😟

    • @experimenthealthyketo83

You may want to avoid supermarkets. To locate a few caring farmers/ gardeners to get nutrients rich foods from instead. It’s often much cheaper.

B12 is the cheapest supplement. I've seen Dr comments that it is good to take small dose daily. We only eat fish I catch as the only animal protein few times a week. Went complete vegetarian over the summer with the big garden production. Lots of beans. Daily vitamin has some B12. Wife just had her Iron and B12 checked and they were both right in the middle of the range. B12 was better than a few years ago with animal protein every meal.

What about for cancer patients? I am just reading that both VItC and B12 and other antioxidants are now being said to be very bad for people who already have cancer. Please do a video about this. They are saying VitC may spawn tumor angiogenisis. They are saying supplmentation in general increases risk of cancer by 20-30%. We should only take these if we are deficient.

First off, buy some Fabendazole & Nattokinase ASAP. This has been proven to eat away most cancer cells & heal people. Whatever you do, STOP taking any chemo whatsoever. The whole Cancer industry is RIGGED to make people sicker. As for vitamins, stick to non-synthetic as much as you can (especially organic meat, cheese, eggs, salads) Hope this helps :)
