- When Fred contacted me several months ago to review his 3rd watch I reluctantly said No
Fast forward to today and a very successful Kickstarter campaign, I am glad to hav this watch in the hand as I think its design really delivers on so many levels, so I share my thoughts
Link to website: www.horizon-wa...
watch featured in this video: Horizon Nemo Coral
Thanks for watching..
I can't work out why you've only got 60k followers. When comparing your content to other creators, your standard is right up there.
Im actually very happy with the subscribers, in fact I am overjoyed that there are 60,000 people out there worldwide who follow my channel..
Id rather have quality people who interact weekly rather than the numbers. Small and intimate 🙏
Peter is a professional photographer, most of the rest of the watch TH-camrs are amateurs in comparison and it shows.
Nothing against other watch TH-camrs there are many with great content
This one is a winner! Original in a sea of divers. Brilliant styling and craftsmanship. Yes, I concur on the rubber strap. Overshadows the steel bracelet.
Finally a brand that loomed the date wheel and put it in an indice.
Its a nice touch 👍
Lume, not loom.

Woohoo!! Peter found another treasure piece. Like a truffle dog. Well done, mate!! Greets from Ibiza.
Well executed and thorough review. Watch is nice at $600. Too many little faults here and there to justify the high price.
I got the Pistachio version of this watch. It's easily become my favorite microbrand watch i've owned.
Pistachio…nice
A stunner in both blue and gray. Totally agree wth your comments on the steel strap, the rubber works so well with that case.
I love it. Agree with the strap looking better than the bracelet .
The '20' shown in the date window was perfectly legible.
20?....I don't recall setting the date to 20th...
@@PeterKotsa
You seem to have taken the pic/clip from the official site. 🤷🏾♂️
Man, those art déco numbers are beautiful! I'd totally "shut up and take my money" if they made a non-bezel version of it
What a stunning looking piece, and that date window integration with the lume is really nicely done from a design point, but yeah I can see the issue with the depth. I wasn't aware of the brand - really enjoyed the video cheers mate 😎🍻
Really enjoyed the design elements the fonts and the date cleverly used at 4. Good size and ergonomics, and the strap looks good I like how unique it is.
It's a very tasteful watch and I absolutely agree, it's more aesthetically pleasing on the strap.
Hey where can I get one of those Horizon rubber straps? I definitely need one. It's a gorgie I love it! 🤩
Drp them an email.. info@horizon-watches.com
Ìts nice to see something a bit different. I like the date window , loom idea. The art deco numerals is a bit of a hard pass on a diver. Maybe on a dress watch it could work well , and the bracelet is nah !!! Some interesting elements but us watch nerds, like certain things , toolish designs especially on a diver . Its not easy doing something different , so they deserve a round of applause for trying, at least . Great vid as always pete .
Best diver I’ve seen in a while. Love the gray colour. Thank you for the review.
My pleasure!
Thank you for review Peter 🙏
My pleasure Fred, watch has been superb all week...have loved how the dial changes moods in different light 👍
cheers
Fantastic reviews Peter! Can't afford these watches but enjoying your presentations 😂
😊
A very tasteful and well executed design. Tempting..
Peter, you are going to bankrupt me with the wonderful watches you present! But seriously, I love this timepiece. I'm not a fan of the bracelet, however. I love the strap. An option to pick would be nice. I'm almost there...give me an option, and I could end up buying one. Cheers!
Firstly I apologize 😂
But seriously yes this is a lovely watch to look at and experience
I enjoyed it on the rubber immensely
I have the Horizon Pilgrim Young Captain's Edition. Such a great color scheme. On the rubber strap its super comfortable. 😎
I have the Horizon Pilgrim Blue Ocean, which I got a year ago as a Kickstarter project at a fantastic price. The design is unique, and the execution and finish are superb. I really enjoy wearing it.
Bravo, enjoy 👍👍
Sumed it up well Peter, very clean watch love the grey.
This is one to look out for on the used market when the price correction makes it more viable.
It’s definitely a bit pricey, but I laud anyone doing something different and actually making it work. Thanks for the great review.
Thanks for watching 👍
I bought that exact one. It’s a beautiful piece
Enjoy 👍
Love that case design. Subtle with elegant lugs. I do really wish the round markers' size to be smaller than the 3, 6, 9 and 12.
Great to hear YOU enjoyed QLD Peter🦘
Watch head is attractive & I luv the numerals!
The price point and ‘status’ is elevated by the Selita, that’s fine… Big date matching the numerals or No date would help.
The bracelet could achieve that look but be more slinky, light and chain-like
It’s nice, but I haven’t bonded with it
Great watch, Peter. Too expensive for a micro-brand that is almost unknown (I know it, I have already seen a Horizon Kickstarter). I am probably repeating myself but an alternative with a Miyota 9015/19 would allow for an even more interesting price. Have a good weekend everyone.🇫🇷👋
The whole design is a total hit, numerals and date integration are superb ! Only downward is that bezel insert which looks too shiny... would have loved they get along with a steel brushed one, would have been perfect with that brushed dial !
Nice design, will be interesting to see where it goes in future iterations
Very cool look, I dig it!
I like it, but I agree - a strap only option at a lower price point would be nice.
I like the style, very nice!
Very nice indeed. Thanks for the review.
My pleasure..I actually really enjoyed this one all week 👍
I thought you were filming in black and white at first 😂
Nice watch, but that's an awful lot of money. I must say I have the Pilgrim. I love it and must agreed about the strap. I've never put the bracelet on at all.
Great review as per mate. 👍
Pilgrim's a great looker as well...I think Fred is a very good designer and it shows in his watches Thanks for sharing Steve 👍
I really liked the bracelet and the watch looks much better on it
I actually really like this
Wow. That dial
It’s even better in the hand 👍
Beautiful watch.
Again a very intelligent review. Get going 🚀
Appreciate that
That lumed date at 4 o clock is brilliant
The blue dial design is amazing (I looked on the website) but I don't really care for the 12/3/6/9 markers. I admit its subjective. I would put it on a rubber strap like you did and call it good I don't like the bracelet and honestly think a bracelet on a diver tool watch is a lil silly heh.
They have done great work if you like the markers its a slam dunk 👍
Nice first impression. A bit of originality and personality.
I'm confused... is the lug width 20 or 22mm? You say both in the video
22mm
I made an error in the specs when I listed them down
The watch is beautiful, but the bracelet could benefit from a little re-engineering, especially the limited bracelet flexibility coming out of the lugs, which for my 6.75in wrist would not fit properly. Price would be ok if the issues noted primarily with the bracelet are addressed. Thank you for sharing Pete.
that is a strange dog at the 2:38 mark. I'm surprised that you are ok with the 3,6,9,12 numerals. Thanks for the video! Until next time cheers
Hahahaha 😂😂
Thats an Australian Dog...😂
Hey Peter, you « reluctantly had to say no » … you were gutted that you had to say no. But, after watching the entire review, I don’t recall you indicating what made you change your mind? (Or did I misunderstand your statement?)
It looks amazing and that micro adjustment seems practical although the gaps look weird BUT I’d live with that if it makes the watch more comfortable on the wrist.
But I also agree, I would wear the strap much more.
Thanks for sharing my friend 😊👍🏼
The Kickstarter was successful so because the watch is now available I took it on
I had a few issues with kickstarters in the past, non starters and even a fraudulent scenario
I was happy this was successful as it gave me a chance to get the watch in 👍
Thanks Peter, that makes sense.
I’m happy for them that it was a success. It looks great and seems to be very versatile.
Nice daily watch but can also follow you at events, formal evenings and evenings with friends.
I love the originality of the markers and the overall design. Great timepiece 😊👍🏼
Thanks for responding back so quickly.
I hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
Beautiful colorway different design for a few shillings why not?
One of the prettiest divers I've ever seen. Personally wouldn't pay that for a base Selitta micro though. If it had been a Miyota 9015 for maybe 700 then I'd probably have to. Not saying it doesn't justify the price from a design and finishing point of view but just too much for me.
I dig those "pac-man" numerals! Reminds me of the Nivada Depthmaster indices.
The orange and green colorway are real nice.
The design of the lume on the date window to match the rest of the dial is a beautiful touch and something I've never seen before. Totally disagree about the comments on the date window because you're limited to what you can do with the size of the numerals by the size of the dial. I think it's executed perfectly. I like the art deco styling and it's great to see a unique take on a classic design and it deserves to do well for that reason alone. It's getting harder and harder to find something that's a little bit different that doesn't look out of place and this watch hits the bullseye in that respect. That said it's not my thing and not something I would buy, especially at that price where there is a lot of competition and for me it's overpriced for a microbrand - something we're seeing a lot more of unfortunately - but you could do a lot worse for the money.
I bought the Kickstarter price of $700 in pistachio green . A great design Microbrand like Direnzo
Great deal..👍
Nice watch Peter: I can see what you mean about the bracelet...
This is probably one of favourite watches. But only the ones that do not use fauxtina.
I absolutely love this design. But I only buy watches $200 or less.
Just beautiful
I think so too 👍
@@PeterKotsa thanks for your response Peter. Your content is interesting with German watches..I haven’t seen anyone else doing German watches. Hope to see you grow big.
@@fredmiami8164 Just really enjoying the journey and watches available to us 👍
A band with round holes to match the size of the markers might be nice.
I don’t understand why brands make a watch with a date window and then try to hide it or blend it in to the other indicators?
Sometimes the omission of a date window can look really clean and attractive on a watch because of the visual symmetry. I think that's the illusion they were going for here. They wanted the date window, but visual symmetry was clearly prioritized over utility.
Looks beautiful but I wish they had made like a 37-38 version
I like it! I just dont like they always use the same generic sellita sw200 without any antimagnetic properties.
we wantit in aventurie dial
I really like horizons design language but not at that price pete.
Great review all the same 👍
Agreed, cheers Luke
I told you Pete... taper... taper is da way.
💪
Reminds me of when HMT combined every watch in one watch... with AP case, pepsi dial,..
Oh, I am not falling for this again, Mr Kotsa. You caught me at a weak moment with Henry Archer. I've spent enough this year.
Kidding aside, it's gorgeous. I love the art deco numerals. Also, I love how they integrated the date.
Peter talked me into a Henry Archer too and I’m glad he did. 👍🏼
That date window execution is great, awesome idea but the watch is too pricey.
Beautiful…on that bracelet I would have liked 999$ better
Peter, you've got a typo on the title of the video - "if" instead of "of".
Sorted
I bet the Iguana was glad you didn’t have a leather strap Peter.
That would have put me in a challenging position for sure 😂😂
Nice
Says "nothing but a joy" but has a laundry list of gripes. Color me confused. Sounds like it's anything but a joy.
I’ve yet to find a perfect watch without gripes
They still resonate with me
@@PeterKotsa "nothing but joy" using "Nothing" implies "NO" or "ZERO" issues.
@@jaredstephenson6468 Thats a figure of speech here in OZ..
It is not easy to estimate the price. Many considerations play a role for the manufacturer. Compare with other microbrand's. Nemo is a touch too expensive. A great watch. But I would rather buy the Pilgrim: The beauty in the collection.
Love how you review these more obscure brands Pete. This particular watch and its size and quality looks exceptional.
As usual, great review mate. The third point of improvement is very true. That price is indeed a bit of a let down. If as you say, the company offer it with the option of choosing between the two straps and save some money, it will definitely be a welcome change.
A failing many watches have: Dates that are unreadable due to size.
Good looking watch, but bracelet, it doesn't seem to fit with the watch itself. Just look out of place. Yes for that price I could get bit more.
The $1.200 price is to high and the bracelet is a No for me. The only unique thing is the case and the dial design. The lume and date window is okay for me. If they whould put a $500 price tag on they watch without the bracelet, i am maybe interested.
Stunning. Yes please and I would pay that price considering a Swiss made watch with this much class and finesse would be at least $USD2,500.
1210 dollars? I can think of 100 watches I would buy before this one.
You do you!
I can’t think of many watches around $12,10 tho
Can you list 10 or so of them for us?
@@charlesm.metcalf3731For starters, every Seiko diver under this price, including my own SPB213J. Maybe it would be better to just list 10 brands.
Let’s see your list.
The indices looks a bit too tall for my taste
What will I find beyond the 'Event Horizon' ? A remarkable timepiece as soon as you get closer to the singularity of its dial.
I share the opinion that the annual calendar remains secondary and not essential.
In my usual language : ' Que trouverai-je au-delà de '' l' Horizon des événements'' ? Un garde-temps remarquable dès qu'on se rapproche de la singularité de son cadran. Je partage l'avis que le quantième annuel reste secondaire et non indispensable.'
Lost interest when I saw the price. That's 1300 Euro once import VAT and fees are added. Too expensive for an impulse buy and at that price point there's at least 10 other watches I'd rather buy before that one. It is a nice looking watch, though.
I’ve lost the plot, mind was still on the Dornblueth
😂
Bracelet looks light a nightmare.
Yikes, i must be getting old
Typo ☝🏻, “if”… look of..
Very nice piece, the colours are not for me😊.
Changed cheers 👍
Meh. Too many weaknesses. Jard pass for the price.
Yet another dive watch with dot indices. Boring...
Beautiful watch, crap bracelet.
It’s not that bad.
what a beauty
What a stunning looking piece, and that date window integration with the lume is really nicely done from a design point, but yeah I can see the issue with the depth. I wasn't aware of the brand - really enjoyed the video cheers mate 😎🍻
👍
