I had a chance to have a brief conversation with Max last year. He’s one of the most genuine and authentic people I’ve met. I admire the way he pushes boundaries in watchmaking but arguably more importantly I admire how he does business with integrity and true character
I couldn’t agree more. The entire company has such a positive and dynamic personality that is contagious when you interact with them. Despite their lower production numbers, I believe it is one of the most important brands in the industry as it continues to push us forward and I admire Max’s refreshing philosophy.
; he was not irreverent, rude or something else... Everyone has the right to express points in fact, if you are polite, you don't have a reason to keep reserved... So now, why don't you go and fck yourself somewhere else...

@@howdepressing2495 Yep, YoureTerrific did the same thing, only he did it a month ago. Hope that Teddy here basically remaking that video is just a coincidence and not a case of blatantly copying what other watch channels are doing. We could use some diversity in the youtube watch space.
I had the opportunity to visit the M.A.D. House back in June, after collecting my M.A.D. 1 in Geneva (I have been lucky with the second raffle). Meeting the team behind the brand has been an amazing experience, as virtually everybody shares the same passion that Max shows in his interview, and you can really feel that special connection that goes way beyond the products themselves. Great interview Teddy!
As someone who has spent the entirety of my career in automotive and industrial design, Max speaks about his products with a passion I feel my industry no longer does. It’s contagious and a beautiful narrative surrounding the brand.
Love this on so many levels. Max is a role model of a man, artist and entrepreneur. And a philosopher too. Inspired. Thank you for this. And I absolutely love some of those watches.
Of all the incredible places you have taken us to, this is on another level. The ingenuity and foresight matched with impeccable attention to detail matched to imagination on this plain of thought is pretty mind blowing. Just watching those watchmakers made me want to sit in that chair and do that with the rest of my life. Wow.
There's a fine line between a genius and a mad man, and Max walks it like an acrobat on a tight-rope. I have so much respect for him and how he's able to keep pushing the envelope, absolutely awe-inspiring! Thanks for this look behind the scenes, Teddy! When he speaks, the passion jumps off of the screen. I love how he has created a family rather than a company and how he values all members equally!
Wow , never seen Teddy so quiet . Max had enough energy and passion for both of them. This is my favourite brand but will never be able to afford one but this video at least let me see some of the inspiration and fantasy involved in this brand. Just awesome 😊
Loves this video Teddy and Max. I had the pleasure of meeting Max in NYC last year during WatchTime and I have to say he is a humble, honest and genuine guy. As much as I love the brand, it's the people behind the brands if makes it that much sweeter. Here's to hopefully acquiring my first MAD/MB&F!
I appreciated MB&F before this video. I liked some of their watches before this video. I thought some of their watches was a bit too much before this video. After watching, it all makes sense! Max is an extraordinary guy, a marvel in his field and his visions are incredible. Yes the designs are ‘mad’ but having that how it’s always intended to be, to create a vision not a business is inspiring. MB&F is grail.
Great video. I love that Max referred to his people by name, most of the other videos either don’t know or choose not to speak about someone they’re next to by name. Keep them coming.
One of the best interviews so far! Max is such a down to earth passionate guy. Doing something he loves and doing it well. It is no surprise none of his staff leave, it looks like he creates an inspiring joyful environment. I rarely find someone inspiring, he is, very. Would love a MAD 1, maybe some day, same for one of the main collection! Thanks for this, both of you 👍
Mb&f is the Koenigsegg of the watch world. Truly groundbreaking, bombastic creativity, never afraid to push boundaries that nobody thought could be pushed. Getting those two in a room together would be such an interesting conversation from these two geniuses
i see it so much more like the pagani of watch world. its pure art. the performance is definitely there but if you see the interview its the art first and then they take care of delivering the right engineering
@@ArthurvanH0udt Jacob&Co is difficult to compare tbh. (I'm not a hater of the brand, first of all, just in case I sound like one, in fact I love it) but despite them being absolutely incredible technical marvels, I feel like they aren't on the same game as MB&F. Their watches are more of a status symbol, a flashy complex art piece to show wealth, sometimes covered in diamonds or doing collabs with other brands or themes that aren't horological, elements that don't add to the functional complexity of the watch. Many of their watches are aimed at very wealthy people that want to show off, proof of that is watches like the Bugatti, Oil Pump, Casino, LaFerrari, Mystery, Godfather... MB&F resonates more with people that is crazy about watches in the technical aspect. Their mechanisms and the engineering behind them. There's no iced out versions or excessive flashiness with superfluous stuff that doesn't add anything to the functionality of the watch. Sure, having a Bugatti W16 in your watch is cool and again, I love to see it and it amazes me that they achieved such a crazy complication, but what purpose does it serve, apart from looking really cool? It won't help you tell the time better, or more accurately, and last time I checked, an engine obviously isn't a watch part, so it's like it doesn't belong there despite both being mechanical marvels. MB&F is more of a "Here I have a watch, I'm going to make it 'watcher' and push its complexity without adding too much useless stuff to it" So IMHO, Jacob&Co is more of a Bugatti, Ferrari, Lykan kind of watch, a mix of crazy high luxury and technicality and MB&F is more of a Koenigsegg, Gordon Murray, Mclaren kind of watch, more focused on the technical aspect, but not leaving behind the good looks and luxury either, just keeping them in the right spot without going crazy ;)
I recently had a chance to visit MB&F M.A.D gallery in Geneva with my family. All of us including my 9 year old son were mesmerized. The MB&F is definitely out there to build kinetic art, and their watches are just an extension of that.
