I met Vince Gill on Christmas day in 1992. He is just an absolute sweetheart. I used to have a pic Vince's mom took of Vince, Jenny (Vince's daughter who was 9 at the time), my sister, and I. Unfortunately it got lost in one of my moves. He has a voice of an angel. 🥰
Aloha my Bradduh from Maui. Your expression is hilarious but your argument is one point. Jesus is the answer cause when God brings two together, not no one can take it out of His hands. As for the song, such beautiful poetic simple song that sometimes whatever happened, it humbles you more and more, especially with solid vocals like these two, accompanied by such organized and well played instruments combined together. Such compassion Vince has. Mahalo🤙
Imagine this we saw Vince the day after his Drummer passed away & Vince had the arena lights out and only a spotlight on the Drum and Drummers stool and then sang or tried to sing this song. Not a dry eye in the place. God Bless Ya'll
I’m pretty convinced that when you die & go to heaven & finally get to hear the angels sing, it’s going to sound just like Vince Gill & Patty Loveless! Check out “pocket full of gold” too! And for the most emotional and incredible thing you’ll ever see, watch them sing “go rest high” live at George Jones’ funeral. Patty will get your respect without a doubt when you see that!
Vince Gill & Patty Loveless…their voices compliment each other’s so well. Look at us is probably my favorite Vince Gill song..please check it out when you come back around to him!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Look at Us!!! and loving Vince Gill! He truly seems pure in heart and a decent guy. In the last 5-6 years of woken up to the true evils of celebrity in any form, they are all pretty darn bad. But I cannot put Vince in that category. I’ve had to wake up to lots of my growing up idols are not what they said they were, but Vince seems truly to be what he puts out there.
Saw Vince do this song the day after his drummer Larry London Died & he had every light in the arena off except for a spotlight on the drums, Not a dry eye in the arena.
It happened to me. Just like the song says. Came home from work, walked in the door, most of the furniture was gone and so was she. What I love about country music is that it comes from the stuff real life is made of.
Vince is great. If you want his uplifting side listen to, I Still Believe in You, and Look at Us. He has many great songs, such as Go Rest High on that Mountain, Pocket Full of Gold, The Heart won't Lie, Whenever You Come around, Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin Away, and on and on the list goes. Great songwriter, singer and instrumentalist.
Patty Loveless, please. "You don't even know who I am." She is phenomenal, as is Vince. The sing together like angels. Also Alison Krauss is a perfect duo with Vince. Love this song and Vince Gill. Great reaction!
OMG! We were so so lucky to live through the best music EVER! I'm workin on 60 and had Journey, REO, Zepplin, Sammy Hagar, Aerosmith, etc for rock....then we hit the late 80's early 90's and got Vince Gill, who to me is the country version of Steve Perry! Garth, Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride!! Vince has such an amazing voice! My kids, now in their 30's, laugh about how it was NOT Christmas season until Mamma popped in the Vince Gill Christmas CD! LOL The woman in the video is just paying tribute to Patty Loveless! She and Vince had magic with their voices together! Like George and Tammy, Conway and Loretta! Vince's first marriage was with another artist. You HAVE to hear "Go Rest High on that Mountain" with Vince, Patty and Ricky Skaggs. Played that song at my husband's service. The most beautiful end of life song IMO!
Lol, I about wore a hole in that Christmas CD! It was on constantly every year when my kids were little. Too funny, glad to know I wasn’t the only one, that is good stuff!
Vince started out in Southern Rock/folk music with Pure Prairie League! Famous song "Amy" was very popular back then. I think this song was his first #1 hit when he transitioned to country! Voice of an Angel!!!
Vince has an angelic voice. A true classic tenor country singer. I love how it brought you to tears. Genuine reaction. His songs will open the flood gates... and also the gates to heaven. Rumor has it that he and Amy Grant, his current wife, both cheated on their husband and wife with each other. Don't know about the validity of that... but it's what is thought to be true. Anyway, great review of a truly timeless song.
Patty Loveless was the back up singer with Vince. They also sing Go Rest High On That Mountain which Vince wrote when his brother passed away. It's a must to listen to. It will definitely make you cry
vince gill was amazing he had no bad songs..check out his go rest high on that mountain, and some of his early works with pure prairie league..as for other country artist of a bout the same era i recommend some martina mcbride
Patty Loveless is another great country SINGER & ARTIST 🎶🎶🎶. I love her song: °°°HERE I AM°°°. Please when you find the time, I'd love to see you react to this beautiful singer. Thank you 😀😀😀
If you want to hear some REALLY early Vince, check out his singing with the bluegrass group "Here Today" along with musicians David Grisman, Emory Gordy Jr., Herb Pedersen, and Jim Buchanan in 1983, after his time with Pure Prairie League. His version of "Making Plans" (available here on YT) is amazing. Worth a listen!
This was Vince's solo break out hit. He was married to Janis Oliver (of 'The Sweethearts of The Rodeo" sister duo) at the time of this release (check out ""Midnight Girl In A Sunset Town" - it's fantastic!), and they had one child together. If you watch another of Vince's videos: "Look At Us" - Janis appeared in that video. They divorced in 1997 and Vince married singer Amy Grant in 2000. Vince had spectacular success with this hit, and went on to many others as well. He wrote or co-wrote most of his songs and his guitar playing is legendary as well. Branch out beyond "Go Rest High On That Mountain" -- a great song, but so many reactors have done it that his others songs are overlooked. All of Vince's playlist are worth listening to. He's a tremendous talent.
Had a buddy of mine, Chris. Partied with him on a Saturday. We went to see a Germany ice hockey game, hung out at the local pub, and then went to the Schwimmbad in downtown Heidelberg, Germany. He told his wife earlier that day, "Gonna have a day with the boys! Told his kids, I love you and I'll see you when I get home." Little did he or we know the tragedy that was about to occur. Come Monday morning. I get called over to his house by his NCO, Mike. His voice is shaking, "Hey man, tell your NCOIC you need to break out and get over here!" "Roger that." I made it happen. When I walked through the door. "Mike, Chris?", "J, I'm in the dining room, man.", Mike replied softly. I didn't hear Chris reply. I walked down the hall, turned to the right and... I bawled my eyes out when I found him hanging from the chandelier in the dining room. Mike and I cut him down, notified the MPs, and waited. They showed up, took our statements, and then we left the scene. Crying and just sitting on the steps of his housing, and then it hit us...and we were very angry. At his memorial service, the church was full, out the door. That's how many people knew Chris. He was a great soldier, well-respected, and a great father. I had to do his casualty report. I assigned Mike as the CAO to Chris' family, and he escorted Chris' body home. This is what happened. And this song reminds me of that. Chris came home to an empty house. His wife took his kids and the dog and bailed back to the states that Saturday. (I was stationed in Germany at the time.) She ended up putting all of his belongings in front of the door. She put their belongings in their storage in the basement of their government housing. You never know what's going on in the head of friend in a marriage that looks like roses on the outside but is thorns behind closed doors. Let this song be a lesson to you all. No woman or man's life is worth dying over. I wish I could have saved my Brother in Arms and I see him during my night terrors. If you have a friend in need, be there for them. #MakeTheCallSaveALife.
I lost my father to suicide at 9yo, I lost multiple buddies in my time in the Marines, and was diagnosed with mental health issues. Still I took care of my wife as I struggled with work, providing and my own mental health struggles…. Started a new job on the first day and when I came home she was gone with all 4 dogs gone going across the country with family, a note on the table with her ring telling me goodbye. I drank myself blackout drunk to this song many of times, now I no longer drink, have two beautiful kiddos and a new home and life has never been better. It never gets easier we just keep getting stronger!
I know Vence and Patty are known for this song, video, Patty was not the backup singer. Vince’s earlier backup singer was Dawn Sears. That’s her in this video.
Just SUBSCRIBED, know WHY?? Cause I love, love, love your enthusiasm, when you do countless reactions, and you put heart & soul into every song that you play, (Whether you like it or not!!) That's AWESOME & CLASSIC 😀...I enjoy a different variety of genres, and Country Music of course is amazing!! Thanks for taking the time to bring great music to all of us out here in LA,LA LAND.. LMBOOTYOFF 🤣 If you find negative comments coming up from what are known as TROLLS, just delete and never respond... they'll always be those who have nothing good or nice to say.. Never let them dummies pull you down!! Enjoy your channel and those of us who enjoy your upbeat music reactions. Take care my friend 😊. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Bro watch Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill How Great Thou Art. It's one of the most powerful performances ever. God was in that room you can feel it through the screen. It's unbelievable.
Vince Gill and Patti Loveless sang quite a few songs together, just not this one. The lady featured in this video is Matraca Berg. The ears give her away. Beautiful lady, great singer with a solid solo career and when we lived in Nashville, was on everyone's list as a songwriter, collaborator and session musician. She's awesome. th-cam.com/video/i-nXkVyaOGs/w-d-xo.html
Matraca Berg is just lip-synching to Patty’s part. That is definitely Patty singing that we hear. I have been a fan of Patty Loveless since she first started in 1986. Vince has credited Patty in public for years for making this song such a hit and their special way of harmonizing together.
Keep in mind, country songs are sad and from the heart, it comes from down deep and is from the past. she never comes home...the only way to make a country song good is playing it backwards, you get your wife back, the house, the dog etc...
Vince is lead Patty Loveless sings harmony he calls her his sister they collaborate a lot george jones nicknamed Vince had his first hit with Pure Prarie League called Let Me Love uou Tonight naje was Sweet pea i find Rest High on that Mountain by vince chrvk oyt pure prairie league
Patty Loveless is Vince Gill's cousin. She is not intended to be the wife who forgot her vows to God (marriage vows are not to each other). They grew up knowing each other all their lives and have been harmonizing. She is just harmonizing.
i talked till i was blue in the face he was having affair for 6 yrs on.me after 47 yrs and abuse and neglect i couldnt take any more i played this so many times for 6 months cried my eyes out he still didnt get it you cant have a wife and girlfriend sorry i have been gone for 5 yrs but as soon as i left she left him to. oh i love karma
I went through it back in 2001. Love hurts
You have to listen to Vince’s version of “go rest high on that mountain “
Oh my goodness got the goose bumps.
My mother pasted 2 days after her 86 birthday , she was the one who made sure we knew GOD , and Jesus Christ .. i miss her so much
Sorry for your loss
Man Vince and Patti's voice together is like liquid gold.
Good Luck and God Bless. This happened to me, and a few of my friends. Shit happens.
Aloha my Bradduh from Maui. Your expression is hilarious but your argument is one point. Jesus is the answer cause when God brings two together, not no one can take it out of His hands. That’s Patty Loveless his back up singer.
Love this…your commentary is spot on!
That’s him and patty loveless
Imagine this we saw Vince the day after his Drummer passed away & Vince had the arena lights out and only a spotlight on the Drum and Drummers stool and then sang or tried to sing this song. Not a dry eye in the place. God Bless Ya'll
I didn't know Vince's drummer passed away. So sad

They really do compliment one another. Patty Loveless is so talented and often is overlooked when people talk about the top female country singers.

Vince has a vast catalog, and they are all very good songs...I Still Believe in You, Pocket Full of Gold, Look at Us and Never Knew Lonely.
Much Love to Ya'll
I’ve loved them forever❤️❤️
Vince Gill WITH Patty Loveless is always a perfect union.
That's for sure yes I absolutely love it when he sings with her
It happened to me. Just like the song says. Came home from work, walked in the door, most of the furniture was gone and so was she. What I love about country music is that it comes from the stuff real life is made of.

Patty Loveless is doing background singing. She is awesome.
Best intro I've ever heard for a singer.
He was with Pure Prairie League and has put his touch on many songs with many artists.
You need to do Vince Gill Go Rest High On That Mountain And Donna Taggart Jealous Of The Angels
Patty Ĺoveless is perfect, too ❤ Go listen to Vince from 1974.......PURE PRARIE LEAGUE / AIMEE
My boy said Jesus is that you!😂 They sound great together!
I am 1-year late seeing your reaction to this man but I am so glad you like him
Awesome song Vince can pull your ❤️ out of your ear.😭😭👍 If you haven't seen go rest high on the mountain. The video version is a must hear 👍👍👍👍❤️🌎✌️
Patty Loveless, please. "You don't even know who I am." She is phenomenal, as is Vince. The sing together like angels. Also Alison Krauss is a perfect duo with Vince. Love this song and Vince Gill. Great reaction!
This and Go rest high on that mountain are my favorites by Vince
That is Patty Loveliss backing him.. Shes great too
Vince is one of the great guitarists out there!
You should do -Go Rest High on that Mountain.
Check out the song
Look at us . The lady in the background is Patty Loveless. She also sang in the video Go Rest High On That Mountain
Don't know if he can play a pedal steel guitar.
Check out Vern Gosdin' " Chiseled in Stone " .
The woman in this video is not actually Patty Loveless.
@@sadee1287 yes, the lady in the video is Matracia Berg, not sure of the spelling of her name.
One of my favorites. Thank you for this!!
Vince Gill is known as one of the best vocalists AND guitarists in country music history. He's an amazing artist and an even better person!
omg! how sad! She sang with him at George Jones funeral, when he sang, Go rest high on that mountain.
Absolutely amazing song. Its beautiful.

It is a heartbreaker.
Home Free did a cover of that. Absolutely Beautiful. I love Vince Gill though
He wrote Go Rest High about Keith Whitley, his brother just happened to have died while he was writing it.
@@radicalreactions1633 Vince Gill himself said he wrote the song for his brother who passed. My bad if I'm wrong.

Roy Acoff, who hosted the Grand Ole Opry for years, always asked Vince to sing this song whenever he appeared on the Opry.
SweetPea & Patty Loveless. What voices matched by God. Both of these artists are true genuine good people.
Sweet Pea was George Jone’s pet name for Vince
Amy probably wouldn't even mind someone mentioning that Vince's harmonic soulmate was Patty Loveless. They have that "high lonesome" sound.
You are absolutely going to love this one!!🥰🥰🥰
That’s likely Paul Franklin. On steel guitar Vince is the artist Patty Lovelace sings harmony is uncredited on this record
Goosebumps to this day listening to this song!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
i never thought the great country i loved and grew up with in my childhood i would now be living in my 40's in a sad country song.
Love him singing this he also does a good job on the Eagles song Desperado. He was also in a group years ago called Pure Prairie League.
Love it. Thank you!

Not sure if it was his marriage he’s singing of. Country singer Patty Loveless is the woman’s voice. Love your Christian testimony as well.

Consider reacting to Garth Brooks "The Damce."
A song you would love as a Christian is Josh Turner Me and God
You want a good love song check out his song "Look at us"
Have you reacted to Vern Gosden, "Chiseled in Stone".
Patty loveless thousand times a day
Now need to listen to:
“Love, Me” by Collin Raye 🙂
Freaking amazing song!! Saw him do it live last year at a free concert and it was incredible
Do you want the dude bawling in the video? That's what you get with that song.
Go watch his performance at George Jones's funeral. And bring a fresh box of Kleenex.
I loved her with all my heart and soul. I rushed home to be with her?
You should react to christian music of all types.
Have you checked out Azerrz hit rap songs in Voice Impressions yet if not you most definitely have to
If you think this is sad ,try Go Rest High On That Mountain
Patty Loveless is Vince Gill's cousin. She is not intended to be the wife who forgot her vows to God (marriage vows are not to each other).
They grew up knowing each other all their lives and have been harmonizing. She is just harmonizing.
Patty is NOT related to Vince Gill. She is however a distant cousin of Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle.
What I get was she didn’t love him she said she was tired of living a lie.
Last I'd heard he hadn't learned to play a pedal steel guitar.
Patty Loveless
Vince gill ACTUALLY WENT THROUGH A DIVORCE.....HES MARRIED TO AMY GRANT NOW
