The best part is the doors come off so much easier with the new bushings.

I had issues with my hinges so I bought a new set $180 and after a year same issues! So I’m gonna order these plastic hinge inserts so no more corrosion issues. Can you post a video of them now since you’ve had them in for a while to see how they are holding up and if they are still functioning smoothly??

These are still functioning smoothly and I have not changed them out. This particular Jeep has 141,000 miles on it and is a 2016, I did not reference the miles so I need to look back to see how long they have been in use. The good news is they are cheaper and can easily be swapped out if an issue occurs.

Does the material or quality of the replacement bushings matter? I purchased a et from Amazon that is ABS plastic. Has 4.3 stars with 202 reviews as of today (Nov.8.23), but I noticed that the OEM bushing are metal. Your thoughts on the above would be appreciated. I almost feel like I'll be replacing them again in a number of years ...

First, thank you for watching our channel. Also - Thank you for your question. I was also curious the first time I used a plastic bushing. They have held up so far and no issue. The Jeep I used in that video was a 2016 and the original metal bushings were causing problems after 2-3 years. You may have to replace later, but not expensive and easier to come out versus the original metal ones. Most of what I see now is plastic.

      Copy that! Appreciate your reply.
I’ll be installing the plastic ones this weekend. Luckily as you noted, it’s an easy process to repeat if necessary. Thanks

Same idea on TJ wrangler jeeps?

Yes, there are many brands, one that is on Amazon is Kentrol for the CJ/YJ/TJ. Just make certain it is the one for your model Jeep. Also, I have found the older Jeeps have more corrosion and damage. You may have to trim or pry the top to get some penetrating lubricant to work its way in there to make the job easier. I suggest letting applying it and waiting 30 minutes. You may have to move it slightly and apply it again.
