I have studied evolutionary ecology and find the distinctive white points on asses very unique. Very few animals have these. What is their evolutionary purpose? Some call this pangare, like that of a Belgian, but are obviously not the same. For as long as they have been around their is a paucity of research about them, especially compared to horses. I have a standard dark brown with white points. He is very intelligent and often deviant in a kindhearted way. I am also a farrier and specialize in their hoof care, they have biomechanical differences from horses.
