Man, I don’t look at blasters as a “kids machine”. Maybe a “new rider machine”, but blasters are much much faster than people give them credit for. I do prefer a 250R, and that 400EX will get it in the top end every time, but people seem to sleep on the little blaster. For a few hundred bucks the can be quite a riot to ride.

How come they stopped making them? Last time I saw one was in the 90s.
@@smallnuts2 they made the blaster until 2006. The EPA said older 2-stroke technology was bad for the environment. So instead of a redesign, they limited production to “closed course machines only” until newer 2-stroke technology started coming out
Just slap a big bore kit and a small sprocket in the back and see what they can do mine smoked a brute force 750 at fifth gear

Dude we were testing a gun and it literally came back and walked right under us by creek while buddy was shooting.
I started out racing motocross on my blaster at age 15 due to the CC restrictions and it was hands down the best “youth” quad allowed for anyone under 18. A few years later I bought a 400ex and bored it out to 426 and added so much other stuff on it but once Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki came out with their 450 models it was much harder to keep up. I dont race anymore but have so many good memories racing at RedBud and Unadilla and all the other tracks around the Midwest and east Coast.
I still believe the 250r is the best racing quad ever to be made, though. Cannondale Moto was also amazing for its time but everyone I knew who owned one had so many problems with them.

Awesome video as always. I used to argue with people all the time defending my blaster against a 400e X. I was a good rider I normally beat every 400 EX I raced and everybody always had excuses saying there’s no way a 200cc can beat a 400cc. ! Keyboard warriors!

I had a blaster that was ported,34mm keihn flatslode carb and it would walk the dog on a 400ex with a pipe and jet kit on it They need to bring the blaster back that was probably one of the funnest 4 wheeler I ever owned.

You guys should do a blaster build with a (airsal 225 cylinder) (34mm carb mikuni/keihin) (ct right bend pipe or a big bore right bend) should make about 35hp ish that's double the stock hp and more power full then a stock 400ex thatske around 25hp 🙈🦆

To get that toomey exhaust do I have to take my air filter cap off or drill holes on it to get more air? I heard people that had that exhaust would do that
