Hey brother my name is Justin and I have a 03 Polaris predator 500 I would love for you all to do a show on a Polaris predator 500 these things are nasty
Thanks for the heads up on the exhaust working for the warrior . I’ve been looking for a exhaust for my wife’s 92 warrior and I think I’m going to go with this set up for her’s.
You guys are just awesome, that music at end was just a neat touch, made you feel like golden years of atvs, BRING IT ON AGAIN, clean awesome work on whole shoot
They quit making it for some crazy reason but the Duncan Double Barrel exhaust system was the best 4 stroke exhaust system ever made. If anyone can find one, dont hesitate to buy it. The pipes are a very wide diameter and the twin pipe runs all the way out through the muffler which looks like a double barrel shotgun, it's not a 2 into 1. Each exhaust port has it's own full length pipe and the are wider diameter than stock. Also the 400EX responds very well to the XR400 cam, a rev box to increase the stock rev limit, and some heavy duty valve springs. This makes reliable torquey power all day long at all RPMa woth a sweet hit on top. This is the secret recipe for bolt on 400EX performance. Jet kit is needed too of course. Then if you still need more, port the head and sleeve to 440. Final piece is the FCR carb.
With my lid off I had to do a 48 pilot & 155 main. Above 60° I had to change to the 45. I have a ported cylinder head and carburetor with ProCom CDI FMF powercore full exhaust. 2002 warrior with 97 plastic. With all that combined I changed the gearing to a 1540 and I won't change anything else it's perfect
Very informative vid guys thank you. I've been considering which exhaust to get for my 350 and stumbled across the Resonant setup but don't know much about them. After watching this however I feel totally comfortable purchasing one. Thanks again guys.
There’s always so many videos on motor power. I would like to see a video with aftermarket suspension verses stock suspension. When I got a steering stabilizer and revolved/resprung shocks I couldn’t believe the difference
These vids are really entertaining btw. To add some more context to my comment above: The biggest difference was that I felt like I could ride all day and not be completely worn out. Riding trips where I would ride 2-3 consecutive days became much easier on my body while others in the group were very sore.
with the fmf header it sounds like its leaking a little at the head you can hear at 14:05, that also causes excessive popping so i bet the fmf is on par with the resonant
Michael sabo I bought a 400 ex last year needing piston rings and I said screw I’m just gonna rebuild the top and and bottom end and a full sparks racing exhaust system this weekend!
Man, you guys should do a 1st gen z400 comparison to a 2nd gen z400 to see if people can make a 1st gen comparable to a 2nd gen in performance, then see if they can be competitive against a 450. Doug Gust used to run one before Suzuki had a 450, but his budget was limitless to build his Mx quad to compete.... and he won the championship
Dude I've heard that Doug Gusts z400 was a straight animal! I would be curious to see if there's much of a difference between the z400 generations too; great idea 🤘
I know the second gen is fuel injected, I’m curious to know how much more performance it has. Not many quads had a carbureted model and a fuel injected model. I think just the z400 and the YFZ had that change happen. The 2 gems of YFZ would be cool to compare too. I do know that my daughter and I talked about eventually building a Doug Gust replica z400, but that’s got to come after the 3 blasters, 400ex, Adam McGill 250R replica, Jimmy White Tecate 3 replica, and the Magnum 4x4 “ultimate exploration” builds.... I already have WAY too many builds on my plate that will keep my daughter and I busy making content for a GOOOOD WHILE!!
I freaking love the sound of the FmF. I've literally been waiting 2 yrs for the fmf slip on to arrive. I've got the power bomb header but I'm at the point of throwing on a pro circuit to my power bomb header. Cause idk how much longer the FmF is going to be on back order?
Dont ever miss the chance on getting a fmf megabomb header. They add like 3.5hp on the bottem end. Makes your bottem end insane. I dont think they make a megabomb for the 400 only the powerbomb
That's actually not true Travis, I researched this and a lot of FMF systems are engineered for low end torque on stock bore machines which is their target audience. There's no better or worse exhaust choice, it's which one is right for your machine and your goal.
@@MichaelSabo I agree about the preferred exhaust part however, a ex already in stock form has a pretty torquey low end engine, with that being said, pipes like I mentioned are going to add a ton more hp across the entire rpm range even on a stock engine, but also being a big enough diameter pipe to benefit a built engine as well. Thats where your stepped headers come into play, whereas fmf usually stay a single diameter through and through except in the mega bomb and power flow, which are actually for noise dampening instead of a hp gain.
@@teamwoodswarriorsracing2004 ct and curtis sparks are top knotch for sure. Top end power that is. And yes the fmf makes better low to mid power but it is totally what your looking for
@@evanwilliams2602 did you miss the part where I said both mentioned pipes will have a broader gain throughout the entire rpm range both on stock as well as built engines? Yes they will give good mid/top but you're also gaining a ton on the low end as well, more than the power core due to its small tubing, which has been known to lose power over the stock exhaust. Food for thought
Hey Mike, I went to purchase the Aluminum Renasant Racing 400EX exhaust and used the link in your video. It appears they are out of stock and may not ever have more available. Do you know if they quit making the exhaust? On another note, how are you healing up?
I was thinking about getting one of these for my warrior do you have any suggestions on jetting I’m thinking about going to a 147.5 main and a 45 pilot is that enough or will it still be to lean?
Great video, I’m soul. I wish you would’ve said is if there a an advantage to the titanium vs Aluminum? Do you know? I just bought the titanium. The FMF is backordered for 2 months
The popping is normal or? If you don’t jet it is that ok? I just bought a stock 400ex and the oem exhaust outer piece isn’t on and it’s very loud and pops quite a bit
Resonant was raspy. FMF sounded better 100%. I do like the quiet core. And all the goofy shit it comes with is a weird plus. But nothing compares to the deep tump of a hmf in my opinion. FMF is next closest to it.

Thanks for the heads up on the exhaust working for the warrior . I’ve been looking for a exhaust for my wife’s 92 warrior and I think I’m going to go with this set up for her’s.
I wish more aftermarket parts came with stuff like flags and keychains, some of the brands I wouldnt mind using accessories of theirs.
No doubt they don't typically send stuff like that to save money. It adds a nice touch to getting a new part 🤘
I've got this on my Warrior 350. I love it.
Glad to hear that man!
