Nintendo decided they would not add Waluigi Pinball because it has the same song as Wario Stadium, and they didn’t want multiple courses having the same song in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Hopefully it will be added in a future title, though.

@@CarlosAlberto-nq3iv not at all. MK8 and MK8 deluxe made the item distribution far more fair. Less fun, but it's definitely more fair. Take MKWii for example. How is it fair that a player in 1st (who is 1.5 seconds ahead of a player in 12th) gets a single banana whilst the player in 12th gets a bullet? Bagging is fun but it's pretty broken in previous titles. A coin in 12th means you're only a second or two off first (basically only happens at the very start of the race)
Most of these issues have to do with the fact, that the online mode is build on raw Peer-to-Peer connections instead of a game host or dedicated servers. All Switches participating on an online match calculate their own gameplay, and that can differ due to lag or information loss.
These issues are the reasons why I don’t play online and I play Wiimmfi instead, which has less game breaking issues. Think about it, a fan made server that’s free is more playable than a professional server that’s paid.

Some better matchmaking for starters. I'm sick of being dropped in lobbies full of 20-30k VR players when I select worldwide while also being put in lobbies full of 1-2k VR players whenever I select regional.

Just like Double Dash!! I liked being able to keep a star with Bowser, and use other comeback items with Mario so I could get a star into first. Though keep in mind items were less powerful in MK:DD, unlike MK8:D where items stun you for longer, and mushrooms give more speed. So I doubt they'd add item swapping unless they nerfed items in general.
In fact I’d remove the chance for a bob-bomb in first and make the super horn a 5% chance. I’d honestly take a super horn rather than a bomb especially for them blue shells.
Other changes: re-include all previous riders (funky Kong, bee queen, wiggler, etc.). On the topic of riders, I want capt falcon. Like this is perfect for him. If he’s not getting another f zero game might as well put him in in Mario kart. Heck I’ll take this as a paid dlc even with some tracks too. nerf lakitu, I want more unintended shortcuts. like I love the big bug blue lap 2 200cc shortcut. And we need more of that. Make coins a bit more useful in races.
One of the things Nintendo has to change are the CPU-players, because they are way too easy even on the "hardest" difficulty setting. That makes the single player mode boring and unfun to play, because there is no challenge from the CPUs.
True, I feel like its mostly because like all nintendo products, geared towards children. They need one more cpu hardness level for us more developed gamers. Haha.

Yeah. I can see that. Once watched my favourite TH-camr play singleplayer, he came 1st as a lightweight character on all four races of the Grand Prix. MK7... I could only beat 1 cup of 150cc and only with 1 star.
The last one happens to me way to often. Despite skill level it's always causes me to end up in back spots. I can't catch up to the front because it's way to frequent in one race. By the time it stops happening, all the other players are a mile down the track. I have a lot of ground to cover, and usually when I catch back up, the race is nearly over. Getting hit by reds and greens that where never insight in 7th place at least 5 times a race is never fun. I'll always generally get 5th to 7th place when that happens. If I'm lucky 2nd or 3rd. Again it doesn't happen all the time, just about 85% of the time. You need to plan your every move. That is impossible when 5-7 Shells that where never there, hit you one after the other in the middle of the field. Side note as well, I only started having this issue after purchasing Nintendo Switch online. Before, when it was free I had these issues, hardly ever.
It's mainly shells, boomerang, and fire flower for me. Shells seem to be much more easier to hit in MK8 than MKWII even without lag. I don't know why, but I do notice that the triple shells are more spaced out so it's alot easier to hit them. I also agreed with the fast speed of green shells. They also have some kind of aimbot that I notice. I get hit by my own green shells 50% of the time which makes me hesitant even if I throw it backwards. Boomerang also has a huge radius. With the fire flower, even skilled players spam it for an item block chain ahead. It's so obnoxious combined with the item lag. I don't get annoyed by the pirahna plant because it's a skill item that prevents players from passing you and I don't have much lag with it.

Mario kart has never been a balanced game, which is why it’s fun for most players. I agree with all of the item issues on online games, but all of the others are just part of the game and what makes it fun. The item issues you discussed that were offline, don’t make sense to me, I feel you don’t like helpful items. I don't have 8 fixes, but here's what I got:1. Make the "catching up" items (mushrooms, stars, etc.) actually make you catch up.2. Make items show up based on what place you're in and how far away you are from other players. I shouldn't be getting a fire flower when I'm too far away to even get any use out of them.3. Get rid of coins in the entire game and just have the speed you would have for 10 coins the default speed (depending on your build of course). 4. Allow the ability to swap items around like you could in double dash.5. In battle mode, allow for braking. I hate how you can brake in races, but not in battle mode.
Ikr. Whenever I'm in 9th place, I feel like it's impossible for me to catch up. The same for last place, since getting a bullet bill is really rare in this game for some reason.
I was once about to be hit by a blue shell, but I used a coin at the same time I got hit and it the shell exploded but I didn't get hit(this was offline multiplayer)
I have a fix for Renegade Roundup. The locks should require a hit from 3 items from any 3 people. It can take hits from projectiles and people with stars. (Now keep in mind your star nerf.) It can make the law’s job a lot easier.

In Shine Thief: When a person, who has the shine, gets hit by a mushroom at anytime, either a fast or slow mushroom speed, should hand over the shine to the person that had the mushroom.
Lakitu shouldn't take more than 3 seconds to carry me back to safety. If I get hit right before a glider section, (especially in Big Blue) Lakitu takes 8 years to carry me to the end while other people are zooming past me. It makes me want to throw my controller on the ground.

One of my most annoying problems is that the law is so underpowered. They only have 2 really good items, being the shock and triple reds, and remember that those are EXTREMELY rare (I’ve only got the shock once, in my 500 hours of experience, on FRANTIC). Renegade items are so overpowered. They get boomerangs, stars, golden shrooms, super horns, and so much more. Maybe the law can get blue shells that will only appear with one person left and automatically targets them and blows them up and it cannot be dodged with a super horn and shroom.

Also, add a MK8DX-style VR system, and instead of grand prixs, make the lobby system like its successors, where players can join and leave whenever they want.
Dragged item hit detection is complete rubbish. Be on the other side of the road because I've been forced to take a corner wide, and still get smacked by the dragged item despite my screen showing him hugging the apex. So damn infuriating when that happens -_-
Agree, and since they seem to be fixing bugs and making balance changes as they release new DLC waves, there’s still probably hope! Another thing I would add is that items that are normally supposed to be impossible to receive in your secondary item slot if you’re already holding one, usually Coins, can still very occasionally break this rule if the game lags online. Hopefully this and the other technical issues with the online you brought up aren’t caused by super fundamental elements of the game’s netcode that’d be too hard to fix.

I'd like to see the drop boost return honestly, it would make getting back to speed much easier when lakitu pulls you back on track, I would say the further you are from first the more you benefit from the boost, where as first, you don't get the boost. Least something along those lines to make it balanced

I agree with this! I’m sure you mentioned it in the video but nothing irritates me more than getting hit by an item you were even close to! Someone could have a green shell and you wouldn’t even be directly behind them not would the throw it behind them to hit you and you would somehow STILL get his with it. That irks my soul because you aren’t even prepared for it
One that should also be fixed is the fake fall-offs. These were present in MKWii also, and what it does is makes a player look like they fell down, but teleport back to the track. It is minor but can trick the player that the guy on their screen fell but they didn't really.
the most annoying thing I think they could have fixed is that when you are for example in first and you are decently near the second place player and a red shell is thrown towards the second place person you will get a red shell warning, but then not get hit because it was not targetting you, this can make you unnecessarily use your items.

As a self-proclaimed Mario Kart "vet" , I agree with most of these. Some of these however just require the player to simply get good...for instance, the skill it requires to both brake-drift during a sharp turn AND shoot a green shell at an angle behind you in order to knockout 2nd place might suck for those getting hit, but not for those of us who worked hard to get and maintain the lead.
Minor complaint, but the game also needs pop-out menus for vehicles and parts, and they need better organization. It's frustrating for any players who don't live and breathe Mario Kart and haven't memorized the order.
Nintendo needs to watch this video ASAP, by the way here's my few issues: 1. Bullet Bill's with zero warning: It's bad enough to get hit by a bullet bill but often they will come out of nowhere beaming towards you with out a warning, it shouldn't have to be weather the game decides to warn you of an incoming bullet bill it's kind of annoying to be honest. 2.Bullet Bill's dropping you off at a sharp turn: Bullet Bill's will often leave you at a sharp turn making the item rather useless, they should make it to where Bullet Bill's drop you off at a straight or narrow path. I can also relate to the whole fake item hit, Far too often I will land a hit on an opponent, usually with a visual cue that it landed, like my character cheering, only for the player to continue on like nothing happened and, in battle mode, no points being given to me. In races I will see coins fly out of a character alongside my cheer, but the driver will continue ahead and win a race that should be secured for me, yet it seems like everything always hits me with no issues. I don’t know what my hits look like on their end, but I doubt they have any idea that I’m even attacking them.
I think that there would be one thing that I would fix or add to your list 1. Blue shell The whole concept of Blue shells are to put the first place at a disadvantage but now they can hit unlucky players along the way which isn't fair in the slightest
i like how the blue shell hits unlucky players along the way because it gives the thrower (usually very behind) more of a chance to catch up, heck, i think it should do it more! in a game where the blue shell flies over everyone except first, i'd prefer the lightning while in 11th or something because it would disadvantage everyone instead of just one person super far away from me i also want the blue shell to give first place 10 whole seconds of flipping about because why not
I agree with your choices, the online needs to be fixed big time. 8 changes I would make to the game are... 8. Buff the Piranha Plant in some way or at least reduce the time you have with it. 7. Make the fire flower only have 3 fireballs out at a time. 6. You can only have a minimum of 3 red shells in second (or any other placing) just so you don't get bombarded with a million red shells when you have a just a small lead. 5. Give the blue shell more power to make up for less red shells. 4. Have an option to choose what CPU characters you want in offline versus race. 3. Have an option to stack all the character that have a clone version just so the roster can look much better and not have it look like the roster is being taken up by all the additional Marios, Peaches, Bowsers, ect. 2. More DLC! I would still like more characters added and I'm sure adding more isn't as hard as making a character for a fighting game. Karts, bikes, wheels, tracks and battle arenas would be a huge bonus. 1. Fix online's problems. The ones listed in this video. Online is a mess and I hope they fix it.
Piranha Plant's range is insane, dealing decent hitstun, provides the user with a small speed boost per chomp, can eat Bloopers and can be used up to ten times. A buff for it wouldn't make sense. I agree that the Fire Flower should be nerfed that way. I agree that a racer should only have a certain number of red shells on them. Blue shells are powerful enough, so a buff isn't necessary. Having the ability to choose which characters appear in offline races wouldn't add much, and so I do not agree with this. Stacking clone characters on top of the originals on the CSS is a nitpick, and so I do not agree with this. More DLC would be nice. Online issues should be fixed.
The only reason why I have reasons 3 and 4 on the list is because when I'm just passing the time and just playing offline races it's very stupid to come across 4 CPU characters that are basically the same character all in the same race. You can legitimately get 4 Marios and Peaches... or even worse case all 8 of them. I say it would be a nice option, I know a lot of people won't use it, but besides me choosing not to have up to 10 carbon copies be in the same race I could set it up and make cool pictures featuring character I like including the Inklings, Link, ect. with the help of the replay feature and video capture.
Carlos Alberto I'd be fine with a new Mario Kart or if they just update 8 Deluxe, but if we do get a new Mario Kart the one thing I want above all else is to get rid of all the clones or just make them costumes. I also really want Warioware characters playable along with more DK character.
I really don't enjoy playing this game online that much. It just feels more luck-based than in other games. The lag is another serious concern. Nintendo doesn't seem to care about this game anymore, which is sad. This update was nothing for most people.

I completely agree with all of these. Unfortunately, I doubt Nintendo will actually do anything about this. The game has been out for almost 2 years, they released one patch that fixed a couple things but that was early on, ever since then there has been no word on trying to fix any of this. The only way I see this stuff getting patched is if DLC is coming to the game, and even then I would be doubtful. We can only hope that MK9 will have resolved these issues.

You should actually submit this to Nintendo. #1 and #3 are absolutely unacceptable in honesty. The others feel a bit more minor to me but you make fair points on all of them. It feels like they're pretty ignorant about the balance of this game.
For the most part Lakitu is fine, but for some reason he sometimes "saves" you when doing the lap 3 grumble volcano shortcut. But if Ultra shortcuts were in 8, you'd have little penalty for failing, because you can just item smuggle after. If you made it, it would break the race for everyone else because items are based on distance to 1st.

I picked up MK8 DX a few weeks ago and I hate playing this game online. Having a 12+ second lead and then getting Blue'd, Redded multiple times, and the game being really unkind with 1st place boxes is not fun for me. I don't want 7 million coins when I'm just trying to get something to block reds.
Also getting rid of ramp sliding and firehopping makes Deluxe feel less skill based than the Wii u version. I can't tell you how many times I've been fucked because I can't get a solid lead. It doesn't help that I get constantly redded after the FIRST BOX of every race because I get coins
I don't like the item distribution for the front places generally. On 1st, you can't really use your bananas to trap corners as you could in MKWii, because they're so rare and the damn coin is way too common, and the 2nd place has such a high chance for red shells, you need to save them as protection items. And please bring back the fake box.

If he’s not getting another f zero game might as well put him in in Mario kart. Heck I’ll take this as a paid dlc even with some tracks too. nerf lakitu, I want more unintended shortcuts. like I love the big bug blue lap 2 200cc shortcut. And we need more of that. Make coins a bit more useful in races.
He (Capt. Falcon) should have been in the DLC instead of Tanooki Mario, and Zelda instead of Cat Peach. We didn't need any more clones..

One of the things Nintendo has to change are the CPU-players, because they are way too easy even on the "hardest" difficulty setting. That makes the single player mode boring and unfun to play, because there is no challenge from the CPUs.

The last one happens to me way to often. Despite skill level it's always causes me to end up in back spots. I can't catch up to the front because it's way to frequent in one race. By the time it stops happening, all the other players are a mile down the track. I have a lot of ground to cover, and usually when I catch back up, the race is nearly over. Getting hit by reds and greens that where never insight in 7th place at least 5 times a race is never fun. I'll always generally get 5th to 7th place when that happens. If I'm lucky 2nd or 3rd. Again it doesn't happen all the time, just about 85% of the time. You need to plan your every move. That is impossible when 5-7 Shells that where never there, hit you one after the other in the middle of the field. Side note as well, I only started having this issue after purchasing Nintendo Switch online. Before, when it was free I had these issues, hardly ever.
It's mainly shells, boomerang, and fire flower for me. Shells seem to be much more easier to hit in MK8 than MKWII even without lag. I don't know why, but I do notice that the triple shells are more spaced out so it's alot easier to hit them. I also agreed with the fast speed of green shells. They also have some kind of aimbot that I notice. I get hit by my own green shells 50% of the time which makes me hesitant even if I throw it backwards. Boomerang also has a huge radius. With the fire flower, even skilled players spam it for an item block chain ahead. It's so obnoxious combined with the item lag. I don't get annoyed by the pirahna plant because it's a skill item that prevents players from passing you and I don't have much lag with it.

Mario kart has never been a balanced game, which is why it’s fun for most players. I agree with all of the item issues on online games, but all of the others are just part of the game and what makes it fun. The item issues you discussed that were offline, don’t make sense to me, I feel you don’t like helpful items.

I don't have 8 fixes, but here's what I got:1. Make the "catching up" items (mushrooms, stars, etc.) actually make you catch up.2. Make items show up based on what place you're in and how far away you are from other players. I shouldn't be getting a fire flower when I'm too far away to even get any use out of them.3. Get rid of coins in the entire game and just have the speed you would have for 10 coins the default speed (depending on your build of course).
4. Allow the ability to swap items around like you could in double dash.5. In battle mode, allow for braking. I hate how you can brake in races, but not in battle mode.

I was once about to be hit by a blue shell, but I used a coin at the same time I got hit and it the shell exploded but I didn't get hit(this was offline multiplayer)

I have a fix for Renegade Roundup. The locks should require a hit from 3 items from any 3 people. It can take hits from projectiles and people with stars. (Now keep in mind your star nerf.) It can make the law’s job a lot easier.

Lakitu shouldn't take more than 3 seconds to carry me back to safety. If I get hit right before a glider section, (especially in Big Blue) Lakitu takes 8 years to carry me to the end while other people are zooming past me. It makes me want to throw my controller on the ground.

One of my most annoying problems is that the law is so underpowered. They only have 2 really good items, being the shock and triple reds, and remember that those are EXTREMELY rare (I’ve only got the shock once, in my 500 hours of experience, on FRANTIC). Renegade items are so overpowered. They get boomerangs, stars, golden shrooms, super horns, and so much more. Maybe the law can get blue shells that will only appear with one person left and automatically targets them and blows them up and it cannot be dodged with a super horn and shroom.

Agree, and since they seem to be fixing bugs and making balance changes as they release new DLC waves, there’s still probably hope! Another thing I would add is that items that are normally supposed to be impossible to receive in your secondary item slot if you’re already holding one, usually Coins, can still very occasionally break this rule if the game lags online. Hopefully this and the other technical issues with the online you brought up aren’t caused by super fundamental elements of the game’s netcode that’d be too hard to fix.

I'd like to see the drop boost return honestly, it would make getting back to speed much easier when lakitu pulls you back on track, I would say the further you are from first the more you benefit from the boost, where as first, you don't get the boost. Least something along those lines to make it balanced

I agree with this! I’m sure you mentioned it in the video but nothing irritates me more than getting hit by an item you were even close to! Someone could have a green shell and you wouldn’t even be directly behind them not would the throw it behind them to hit you and you would somehow STILL get his with it. That irks my soul because you aren’t even prepared for it
One that should also be fixed is the fake fall-offs. These were present in MKWii also, and what it does is makes a player look like they fell down, but teleport back to the track. It is minor but can trick the player that the guy on their screen fell but they didn't really.
the most annoying thing I think they could have fixed is that when you are for example in first and you are decently near the second place player and a red shell is thrown towards the second place person you will get a red shell warning, but then not get hit because it was not targetting you, this can make you unnecessarily use your items.

As a self-proclaimed Mario Kart "vet" , I agree with most of these. Some of these however just require the player to simply get good...for instance, the skill it requires to both brake-drift during a sharp turn AND shoot a green shell at an angle behind you in order to knockout 2nd place might suck for those getting hit, but not for those of us who worked hard to get and maintain the lead.

Minor complaint, but the game also needs pop-out menus for vehicles and parts, and they need better organization. It's frustrating for any players who don't live and breathe Mario Kart and haven't memorized the order.

Nintendo needs to watch this video ASAP, by the way here's my few issues:
1. Bullet Bill's with zero warning: It's bad enough to get hit by a bullet bill but often they will come out of nowhere beaming towards you with out a warning, it shouldn't have to be weather the game decides to warn you of an incoming bullet bill it's kind of annoying to be honest.
2.Bullet Bill's dropping you off at a sharp turn: Bullet Bill's will often leave you at a sharp turn making the item rather useless, they should make it to where Bullet Bill's drop you off at a straight or narrow path.
I can also relate to the whole fake item hit, Far too often I will land a hit on an opponent, usually with a visual cue that it landed, like my character cheering, only for the player to continue on like nothing happened and, in battle mode, no points being given to me. In races I will see coins fly out of a character alongside my cheer, but the driver will continue ahead and win a race that should be secured for me, yet it seems like everything always hits me with no issues. I don’t know what my hits look like on their end, but I doubt they have any idea that I’m even attacking them.
I think that there would be one thing that I would fix or add to your list
1. Blue shell
The whole concept of Blue shells are to put the first place at a disadvantage but now they can hit unlucky players along the way which isn't fair in the slightest
and the first place person has a super horn on top of that
i like how the blue shell hits unlucky players along the way because it gives the thrower (usually very behind) more of a chance to catch up, heck, i think it should do it more! in a game where the blue shell flies over everyone except first, i'd prefer the lightning while in 11th or something because it would disadvantage everyone instead of just one person super far away from me

8. Buff the Piranha Plant in some way or at least reduce the time you have with it.
7. Make the fire flower only have 3 fireballs out at a time.
6. You can only have a minimum of 3 red shells in second (or any other placing) just so you don't get bombarded with a million red shells when you have a just a small lead.
5. Give the blue shell more power to make up for less red shells.
4. Have an option to choose what CPU characters you want in offline versus race.
3. Have an option to stack all the character that have a clone version just so the roster can look much better and not have it look like the roster is being taken up by all the additional Marios, Peaches, Bowsers, ect.
2. More DLC! I would still like more characters added and I'm sure adding more isn't as hard as making a character for a fighting game. Karts, bikes, wheels, tracks and battle arenas would be a huge bonus.

Piranha Plant's range is insane, dealing decent hitstun, provides the user with a small speed boost per chomp, can eat Bloopers and can be used up to ten times. A buff for it wouldn't make sense.
I agree that the Fire Flower should be nerfed that way.
I agree that a racer should only have a certain number of red shells on them.
Blue shells are powerful enough, so a buff isn't necessary.
Having the ability to choose which characters appear in offline races wouldn't add much, and so I do not agree with this.
Stacking clone characters on top of the originals on the CSS is a nitpick, and so I do not agree with this.
More DLC would be nice.
Online issues should be fixed.
The only reason why I have reasons 3 and 4 on the list is because when I'm just passing the time and just playing offline races it's very stupid to come across 4 CPU characters that are basically the same character all in the same race. You can legitimately get 4 Marios and Peaches... or even worse case all 8 of them.
I say it would be a nice option, I know a lot of people won't use it, but besides me choosing not to have up to 10 carbon copies be in the same race I could set it up and make cool pictures featuring character I like including the Inklings, Link, ect. with the help of the replay feature and video capture.

I completely agree with all of these. Unfortunately, I doubt Nintendo will actually do anything about this. The game has been out for almost 2 years, they released one patch that fixed a couple things but that was early on, ever since then there has been no word on trying to fix any of this. The only way I see this stuff getting patched is if DLC is coming to the game, and even then I would be doubtful. We can only hope that MK9 will have resolved these issues.
Or MK9 will come with its own problems....as with all Mario Kart games. 🤷♂️

For the most part Lakitu is fine, but for some reason he sometimes "saves" you when doing the lap 3 grumble volcano shortcut. But if Ultra shortcuts were in 8, you'd have little penalty for failing, because you can just item smuggle after. If you made it, it would break the race for everyone else because items are based on distance to 1st.

I picked up MK8 DX a few weeks ago and I hate playing this game online. Having a 12+ second lead and then getting Blue'd, Redded multiple times, and the game being really unkind with 1st place boxes is not fun for me. I don't want 7 million coins when I'm just trying to get something to block reds.
Also getting rid of ramp sliding and firehopping makes Deluxe feel less skill based than the Wii u version. I can't tell you how many times I've been fucked because I can't get a solid lead. It doesn't help that I get constantly redded after the FIRST BOX of every race because I get coins
I don't like the item distribution for the front places generally. On 1st, you can't really use your bananas to trap corners as you could in MKWii, because they're so rare and the damn coin is way too common, and the 2nd place has such a high chance for red shells, you need to save them as protection items. And please bring back the fake box.
