    I pretty sure on evo 9s the oil pressure switch is located on the OFH. Just for reference. Check STMs website and look at the Evo 8 vs Evo 9 OFH comparison. Hence why there is two different part numbers for the oil pressure switch and oil filter housings. On 9s I think they use that hole in the block for mivec, if I remember correctly. Awesome videos.

      Good call. I’ll look into in. Someday i need to get an evo 9 to learn this stuff :)

    Hey man !
    Got my evo 4 yesterday (it has an evo7 engine). Drove the car with family , worked fine, until the pesky Oil Light started flickering. I got scared and shut off the car . While searching for root causes for this , i stumbled upon this video !
    Turns out the wire connecting to the Sender was plugged off . I plugged it back in and all is good !! . You earned a subscriber :) Thanks so much !!

    I replaced the pressure switch with the STM remote oil pressure sender line and put an oil pressure gauge in the cabin. The oil light on the dash stays off when the switch is unplugged, so this is a good place to put a pressure sensor if you want to go with a gauge.

    i've got a new pressure switch that's been sitting in the drawer for years. information on the forums made it seem like a pain getting the old one off but you didn't make it look too bad. might swap it out the next time i have the battery and airbox out

      Its certainly not that bad if you know ahead of time its a tight spot. Buy the special socket and I'd imagine the whole job could be done in less than an hour at a leisurely pace. Good luck!

    Hey Paul, thanks for getting some good views of this job. So I believe the FSM calls out RTV for the threads. I don't see why Teflon wouldn't work though. That thing is buried down there but the good lighting really helps, thanks.

      Yea i would think either-one would work. I did the Teflon tape over a year ago on when i changed the pressure switch on my black evo and have not noticed any issue... But I could probably take a peak and double check. Back of the block is not an area i check very often, ha.

    Would you be able to make a video about evo scan? You explain things very well and it makes sense

    • @BoostedFilms
      @BoostedFilms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I don't really know eve scan well enough yet to make a video about it. I could really only cover the very basics about using it at this point.

      @@BoostedFilms I agree that it would be helpful to learn evo scan and it’s data logging feature.

    I have noticed when its hot out and I come to a stop, press down the clutch, when the car drops to idle (around 700-900 rpm) the oil pressure light will flicker at me. Will this fit that?

    • @BoostedFilms
      @BoostedFilms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this could be a possible fix for that.

    My EVo 8 is doing the same thing just started today did you find out the issue with your evo.

    • @BoostedFilms
      @BoostedFilms  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The issue was the pressure switch that i swapped out in this video.

    Hey will it spill oil everywhere when I remove my switch?

    • @BoostedFilms
      @BoostedFilms  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it will be similar to what i showed in the video.

  • @ladams5356

    Did it fix it on mr rusty ?

  • @Pedro92371
    @Pedro92371 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Don't be like me and remove you battery tray just to realize you have a 9 and not an 8. The oil pressure switch on a 9 is under the car just above the oil filter.

    • @BoostedFilms
      @BoostedFilms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, sorry. I should have said that its different for a 9 in the video. Just didn't think of it since I've never actually owned a 9.
