I really appreciate you talking about the CCC. So many RV Dealers and those making videos fail to talk about this. We wanted a Mercedes Sprinter Class C but the CCC was so low it just didn't make sense. You have to do your homework when buying an RV. Salesman love to focus on the romance of RV travel while omitting the real facts you need to know about when you get into this type of travel and lifestyle.
Nice to see something i've talked about for a couple of years for class B - dual use of the wet bath for storage, and not wasting that space by putting in a sink when the kitchen sink is at most 3 steps away. I still think there's a way to make the storage better, - maybe bins instead of shelves
Ive always wondered why not just turn the entrance into the shower so the standing area of the entrance can be used as the standing area of the shower. Have a hidden rainshower head on the roof. Also use a recycling water system like on earthcruisers so you don’t have to bring as much water.
@@sophiesmith5922 if the design is in easily removable cassettes, it makes better use of the space. You use that bathroom much less than you need space for storage. It isn't completely convenient, but very practical.

Yes. The drivability, parking, off roading excellent in 144' wheelbase. I have several. But the 170" would be better for a camper and is still 99% as easy to drive and park. I had one of the long ones. Mine were all cargo. Tall versions with 3 different Diesel engines. 2.7, 3.0, 2.0. US models since 2003.
Nice but these things are so over engineered that they’re a maintenance nightmare. The amount of electronics guarantees monumental repair costs when the systems malfunction as they all inevitably do. If you’re serious about off-roading, simplicity is important and this van, as cool as it looks in the showroom, ain’t simple.
I’ve only watched three minutes and I already see that it has so many electronics that it will end up being a nightmare and very expensive for someone who doesn’t want to work on it but use it !

I'm considering getting one and this review is epic, especially when it comes to electricity. I thought the solar and batteries provided aren't enough. I happen to have solar at home, and NO you do not have to rely on the grid. At least in California, you HAVE to be connected, which is different. If you have batteries, like I do, you don't need the grid at all. Saying that the Revel can't rely on solar/batteries alone is a lie. It's not *designed* to run on electricity alone, which is VERY different. There are RVs out there that run exclusively on solar/batteries. But these are all added afterwards because, for whichever reason, manufacturers aren't putting in the effort to make this happen.

Why not back seats like the Ford Nugget to sleep 2 children? I guess if you can afford this price tag you can afford to put the kids in a hotel.

Most AC units need close to 30A at surge - check the specs for sure. I would tie two Honda 2000 units together for AC in an Airstream that needed about 27A which worked for me.
Have youve noticed many DIY RVs and RV 4x4 DIY's are daily drivers may go down 1x a yr down for a couple of days. I had a Coachman Concord which was down 4x a yr a week to 3 weeks at a time.
Start with 4x4 capability, stability and ground clearance then work towards amenities. What is the point if this thing is high centered or on it's side. Just saying.. But, I am only 2 minutes in. I am going off road. Lane assist is not in my top 10 of needs. Ok, 4" of extra lift. Can I go 2" more and add bigger tires? Hmmm...
I am on the fence between Revel and Storyteller but leaning towards Storyteller due to others feedback about Revel's interior rattle and creaks when riding. Poor interior build?
Both seem very similar. The Revel does have a bathroom/shower that doesn't need to be setup everytime you need to use it and doubles as a storage closet.
They are very similar, but it depends on what you are looking for. The Revel offers more storage for your gear and a more rugged exterior. The Interstae Nineteen is more of a luxury coach and has a slightly larger bed. We carry both models at our dealership if you want to compare them side by side.
This should be a 75K camper. I own a Winnebago sprinter based camper and I'd buy the revel, but it's a smaller, less featured RV for over twice what I paid for a view. That's just insane.
@@JeepCherokeeful I'm just putting in perspective compared to any other sprinter RV you're getting about half the value for the money your spending. Half the features, less than half the space, less towing capacity, etc. The only thing you gain is 4wd and ground clearance. The prices are extremely inflated, beyond the rate of inflation. The only thing driving the price over 75k is the illusion sold by #vanlife promoters.

The worst part about Revel is the suspensions that are terrible and horrible. When you drive downhills with turning, you absolutely will feel that the vehicle will be rolled over off the cliff. I have to drive Revel even slower than a big truck. Every owner must upgrade the suspension......
No locking center differential means it’s great two wheel drive vehicle. No locking diffs on the front or rear without a center locking diff makes it a great one wheel drive vehicle. This is NOT an off-road vehicle, it’s barely able to handle a dirt driveway.
@@flat6fever680 - True, I spaced on using the electronic brakes to make a faux 4x4 drive. And that just might be enough as no one is going to take this thing down any serious trails. I’ve seen Toyotas off-road and while they seem crude, it does work in mild to moderate trails.

cuz you have to clear out the stuff in storage before you can pee, never mind shower. No point in having a bathroom if you just want a closet.

Only true use I can see is Paris Dakar support even then I see a need for the tow eye about 5o miles into North africa

Nice, but the shower shelves are stupid. Who else is putting shelves in the shower? Still, its the best designed camper van for North America.
The shelves allow the shower to be used as a closet when not in use.

Yes, the alternator will charge the batteries while driving. As for the A/C It will run approximately 1-2 hrs just on the Lithium batteries.

winnebago is such a dinosour company, the european van builders are much better.
I've never done 4x4 but isn't that diesel heat thingy and other stuff underneath kinda low if you're trying to get over rocky or bumpy terrain

I noticed when you lowered the bed that the bikes were no longer there, so in order to sleep would I have to move my bikes outside?
There is approximately 26" from the floor to bed with it fully lowered. Some bikes will fit depending on the size.

The batteries can run the A/C for about 6 hours before being completely depleted.
@@ColonialRV That’s long enough to keep the pets cool while shopping. So when depleted, can they be charged by running the engine?
